Using the figures you provided, the per capita GDP of the U.S. is $47K and the per capita GDP of the EU is $37K. I do pay my fair share, I'm upper-middle income level, I get hit with ALL the taxes. Don't tell me I don't pay my fair share. The ultrawealthy have offshore accounts and tax shelters, don't tell me they pay their 'fair share.' It's not as if a wealthy person taxed at a certain percent is just going to pay it. On the other hand, I would say that Clinton's policies are partially to blame for 9/11, if only because he did have the opportunity to catch Osama. I know its strictly hypothetical, but if Clinton had been tougher and actually put some sound policies into effect following the 93 attacks, perhaps 9/11 wouldn't have happened. Nobody here is arguing that 9/11 happened on Bush's watch. However, you can't argue that after 9/11 he kept our country safe, which is what shlokda's point was. Following 9/11 Bush put into place some of the most effective acts (ie Patriot Act) to avoiding another disaster. Plain and simple, there was no reason to believe that we were going to be attacked by terrorists in such a manner. There was no precedence. We lived and learned and frankly we're much safer now due to Bush.

Yes, I do have something to say... You can't compare the total GDP of 466 million people with that of 300 million - you have to look at the per capita GDP to make a meaningful comparison. Using the figures you provided, the per capita GDP of the U.S. is $47K and the per capita GDP of the EU is $37K. I was wrong about the percentage difference though, since it looks like our GDP is only 27% higher than the EU's. Regardless, why do Liberals not see that Obama is destroying our economy?

The governments over there are paid for by the people, therefore the governments work FOR the people. They pay high taxes and they earn 5 months paid vacation and public healthcare which is the best in the world.
