  • What noone seems to be discussing is that by the very way the sample was selected (by an advert for a lecture on spirituality for agnostics), ensures that everyone in attendance in the room believes in spirituality and wants to explore it.

He would have a totally different result with the biannual Atheists thinkers society of North america, for example.

What person would go to this and "waste their time" with it if they felt really certain based on evidence that God didn't exist.

  • What I "thought" he'd reveal is that the two participants (girl with glasses and "falling" guy) are really actors who are in on it; and he was thus able to convince the rest of the group, and make them collapse in a profound religious moment, afterwards. But it ends in no explanation whatsoever. Either they're all actors or this was the rare group of people who miraculously "fell for it" and they just threw out the rest of the film. It all looks totally bogus.

  • I like how at the end of the video, "be a part of that fiction... IF it is fiction..."

  • I like that he is exposing the general public to the tricks preachers use. i.e. the laying on of hands was taken from a rapid hypnosis induction.

All television evangelist use some form of hypnosis in their ministry. yet these same people cry occult if the techniques are done by non evangelist and non believers. The mind is powerful but there is no need for the supernatural as an explanation for secular events. Use your mind mind to break the chains of ignorance.

  • "Yes, very much so." lol

  • @weightlosshypnosis gO FUCK YOURSELF AND YOUR BULLSHIT LINK!

  • What this video proofs is that god is only in our minds.

  • Do that to Christopher Hitchens and see what happens.

  • Pretty sure this is fake. No one can change their beliefs from falling.

  • I'd like to see him do that with Richard Dawkins.

  • @Shallimutti My guess is that these people are "Searching for answers" Richard Dawkins HAS his answers.

  • i think he has a very vivid imagination and anything he really pictures in his mind he can make it happen

  • if this guy had been around 2000 years ago he would have been jesus

  • Ok, it's amazing what Darren did, but how is this different from hypnotizing someone into believing something else, which has been done ad nauseam.

  • @HecklerBoy7 I think that's his point! Look how easy it is to hypnotize/manipulate people into believing something they don't really believe.

  • This is fake as hell.

  • @dustobusto hmmm.. as HecklerBoy7 points out, it is not actually surprising n the least... I have studied hypnosis and what he is doing is consistant with any hypnotists abilities

  • @debris54 I never said it was surprising. I said it was fake. You study hypnosis, I study psychology, and I'm sticking with my opinion. Good luck convincing others.

  • Derren Brown vs Richard Dawkins, that would be cool!

  • @SFaily already done mate, RD interviewed him. it's on youtube, search for it.

  • Does anyone get how he made the guy fall at watch?v=Dzn9rX7rauA&NR=1#t=1m50s ?

  • @IblameBlame the startling thing about the mind is how little we understand the unconscious (unless we study it) ... there are many ways that the guy could have unconsciously known about the hand moving behind his back

  • @debris54

Perhaps. I'n still not entirely convinced that Derren Brown doesn't use stooges thougj.

  • @IblameBlame ...of course this could be true.. this is the first time I've seen or heard of the guy, so have heard nothing about him... as to whether he could know about the hand, unconsciously.. absolutely... I have witnessed and studied this ... never bothered to practise these kinds of manipulative tricks myself, but I have seen far more startling things than this... it really is quite bizarre sometimes... what we are actually capable of...

  • @debris54

The most unbelievable Derren Brown stunt I've seen was them apparently hypnotizing an apparently unsuspecting guy playing a zombie shooting arcade game at a bar and transporting him into some abandoned warehouse and putting a high-pressure gas powered gun next to him. When he came to, they sent in extras dressed as and walking like zombies which he started to shoot. He was then "put to sleep" again and carried back to the arcade game, and woken up again.

  • @debris54

I think he then said something about how he never played such a realistic game. I found it hard to believe that he wasn't a stooge.

  • Well this shows how manipulative these religious leaders are. I had to put up with their mind manipulation for 18 years of my life. Glad I worked out what was going on, but not without the help of a good education.

  • @P1eski this is the value in studying even a bit of hypnosis... I advocate for teaching it in high school in a requisite class... simply as a way of providing tools for people to use to 'defend' themselves (so to speak)

  • this is booty

  • On 1.54 when the guy falls, why isn't the audience completely amazed? They sit there and don't even react?

  • yea...there is something there, demons. However, all things work out to His glory. If any one of those people were curious to start seeking God after this, then awesome. Otherwise, this is straight up demonic. The preacher is being deceived and even starts using words like energy force as an explaination...that sucks.

  • @alisacay where is your prove? Thanks p.s fairy-tales don't count

  • @alexzracer2008 my life is proof. = ) The only fairy tale everyone needs to wake up from is that God and satan don't exist.

  • @alisacay I agree. lol... Whatever this spirit is, welcome it... :S

  • @zeap87 be careful not to welcome any spirit. I can tell you from personal experience it's not a good idea. We need to discern what spirit is present. The only way to know that is know THE WORD and know God. If you don't have a relationship with HIM...you can and will be easily deceived.

  • @alisacay if you have a relationship with god, you already are deceived... so thanks, but we take the risk over certainty.

  • @alisacay alright alisacay.... good idea for you to follow... while i find it complete codswallow, the fact that you DON'T, means that you are indeed at great risk to your mental well being, if you tried to go against such a strong belief... BTW, I DO have experiences with the 'spiritual world'... however I intepret them quite differently than you probably do... anyway, always best to stay safe... i would just suggest that my experience tells me that the choice is ALWAYS... Love or Fear

  • Heh, "I will catch you when this happens." Hint, hint.

I think you have to be at least a little dumb to fall for that one.

  • That guy was an extra in the movie 'The One' ,but its okay hired actors or not, people are easily manipulated in general.

  • Please, tell me how he does it all. You know, here in my town there's a evangelical pastor (assembly of God) who does this thing, touching the persons and they fall down the floor and stuff. I'd like to unmask him, telling the technique he uses.

    Please! Derren Brown is great.

  • I think this should be a lesson to both atheists and believers . Atheists consider those who believe in God to be foolish and stupid but the fact is the human mind can be manipulated when put into a trance state reguardless of your intelligence. Believers need to consider if their belief is due to this type of trickery or if it is a sincere belief backed by some sort of concrete reasoning. Very good video

  • @krissy4nik

I have to disagree with your "Atheists consider believers foolish/stupid" statement. I would consider "believers" ignorant, and I don't mean that to be offensive. To be ignorant is to lack knowledge. I give the benefit of the doubt to "believers" to make their own conclusions in the face of evidence. If they prefer ignorance, THEN they can be considered foolish.

Also, "belief" (i.e. faith) doesn't require "concrete reasoning". That's what makes it faith. Nothing concrete about it.

  • everything is a lesson to atheists and believers...

  • If you believe in God through reason and not emotional sways or physical conversion are you a stupid person or just a more educated theist?

  • These people must be gullible...

  • I would be like....but what is god?

These people are kinda dumb....I find it hard to believe that they were skeptical at all going into this. They lack facial expressions throughout the taping. No surprised looks or smiles. Weird.

  • This is the second time I've seen this. It's just as enjoyable as the first time to see how easily human minds are manipulated.

Let this video be something for all believers to consider.

  • around 4:06, I think he said, "raise your hand if you believe in god.....Apart from the people i just spoke to" because every1 he spoke to didnt raise there hands. lol.

  • 5:15 GOOD FUCKING GAME, HAHAHAHA

  • I would have asked, "Which God?"

  • The link takes you to someone else's website. It is NOT Darren Brown's website. I find this deceptive and suspicious.

  • @UVDan i agree completely, but, such is the nature of the game! there are those of us that actually notice these things, an there are those of us that are gonna pay the money...

  • smart girl in the back

  • pretty awsome view of how easily people are controlled by delusions.

  • pretty awsome view of how easily people are controlled.

  • actually, derren brown is one of the few entertainers i actually believe. I am aware some of his tricks are staged but he has a great handful of tricks that are based purely off of proven psychological techniques learned from years of practice. The likes of Angel and such, however, barely have a credible trick up their sleeves. I am not claiming every Derren act is 100% real but I am confident many of his are.

  • @seancolorado I don't see that much of a difference. Derren Brown is just less extravagant than Criss Angel.

  • @ThaGMan51 I can;t even believe that u would compare Derren to him. Brown is like heaps better! =)

(i'm saying this while touching ur left shoulder) lol

  • they fell like apples!

  • He should have gone to a charismatic church. They would have endorsed him immediately.

  • it didnt work on 1 geeza.. his standing at the back on the left hand side at 5:00

  • 1:52

    holy shit!

  • God bless you.

  • It's fake man, he's trying to show how easy it is to trick people into believing crap

  • Spoken like a person with a PhD in clinical psychiatry.
