@splith3artedXmedia I think it must be worth a try before you sell it for spares, a new screen might fix it, if not you can sell the new screen on eBay and get most of your money back

@TheNickl333 Thank you, my favourite gadget is mentioned in the bottom of the description, its a cheap normal tripod which I sit behind. Manually setting the camera's white balance and iris is the key to making it look good. In full auto it keeps changing all the time. I tend to use 1/125 Shutter and F2.4 on the iris, but this will depend on the lighting. Its a little over exposed in places but it does look nice..

@easy11223 If its still under warranty you need to visit Nokia.com support and 'Send Device for Repair', the service is pretty good, they collect it from you and it normally takes about 7 days. They will send it back with the new firmware and hopefully the usb port will work

@ishaunay89 You can see the mic @ 1:29 . You might have caught it when you were taking the cover off. Have a close look and make sure its not damaged. Also if you have a hair caught under the plug @ 4:27 it can cause that kind of problem. If its damaged you'll need to replace the ribbon cable as I think its comes with the microphone..

@LE55ONS Just fitted a new LCD and Digitizer so phone is as good as new. One piece of advice for removing the LCD would be to use some fine fishing line to "saw" through the sticky tape under the LCD. I heard about this method after I'd cracked mine!

@maanddy2 Search on Google for 'nokia c7 digitizer' and click the 'Shopping' link. Once you have a new screen follow this video. While you wait for the new screen to arrive I suggest you put sticky tape over the screen to save your fingers, it will still work OK

After I replaced the digitizer, the options and exit buttons didn't respond, but the rest of the touchscreen worked fine. Would that be a problem with the digitizer or is the it a problem with the mainboard?
@mrsantiaramir I would try another digitizer before suspecting the mainboard. If you read through all the comments you'll see a few people have had problems with faulty digitizers

i dropped my C7 accidentally and the glass was cracked badly :( But amazingly the touchscreen and the phone still worked well and I still can make a backup the night before I went to nokia care .. It cost me about $58 to get the new glass, and it looks like new now.. :'( I wont drop this baby no more..

@MrKittxatans Sorry I can't help as I don't have that phone anymore, it shouldn't be too hard after taking the screens and the main board out. Have a good look when its apart and you might find its not too hard...
Great video, thanks. Just installed a new digitizer. But the screen doesn't react to touch across a horizontal section of the screen. Specifically: in normal portrait screen mode with a narrow qwerty keyboard, the whole asdfghjkl doesn't work. Could there be a hair in my socket? Or could it be a dodgy digitizer? I've taken it apart and put it together again - still same problem in same area.

that was my thought as well. I still have the broken one (which was still 100% functional when I replaced it, was being kept together by my screen protector)..
And I've looked at the rubber cases, but they look quite terrible + I use my phone as gps in the car and I'd have to remove the cover each time I insert it into the plastic holder..
Great Video-done well. But camera on my phone is not working any more after I fixed touch screen. Every time I try to take picture, message appears' Unexpected error occured .Restart Phone'. @lovemini13 The first thing I would try is re-installing the firmware, if it still plays up I would try the old digitizer to see if it works ok. If it does then you know its the new digitizer causing the problem...

i notice that every time the phone is in my pocket, i feel something hot and when i check it is my mobile which is the camera part is hot a bit and my battery was drained even i just charge it a while ago..it happens to me after i open my C7 to replace the digitizer..

hi, how do I know that I need to change my digitizer together with my LCD? On the video the digitizer didn't look broken or anything and you changed it together with LCD - was it just for the presentation purposes or there was a reason? I'm hoping my digitizer is still working - at least it was for a moment just after breaking the screen - until the display went totally off I was able to dial numbers and run apps for a short time. @TheLondonCentralz If the frames damaged or bent you'll have trouble. Make sure the metal frame is straight by putting it on a flat surface. I had the same trouble with this one after it was sat on

@devilishjaney If the camera button is stuck on I think it would stop all the other keys from working on that same ribbon/loom. If the camera was coming on randomly before, it would suggest it might be stuck down or faulty. Have a close look at the camera button, you might find your problem there. If not a new ribbon with all the buttons should cure your problems
I have a Nokia C7 and my problem is the back cover keeps opening up.. it's like when i am holding the phone in mah hand and then am going to keep it in my pocket the back cover opens up ..! quiet frustrated could u please help ??
@dhavalty I had the same problem on this phone. The small metal catch had been bent, after I made it the right shape it didn't fall off anymore. Find another C7 and compare the backs, then you'll see what the problem is..
Thanks for an excellent lesson, however I just cannot get it working. I'm afraid the socket for the digitizer might be broken. Do you consider theese vulnerable, can they be fixed?
In fact i first ordered the digitizer itself from mytrendyphone, couldn't get it working. then I ordered a set with surrounding frame from the same supplier - couldn't get it working either. Have done it before and succeeded (5800)... frustrated
@lillistube Sounds like it might be a main board problem. Try and get hold of another C7 and see if the touch screens work. I would also try re-flashing the firmware to see if that helps...
@LE55ONS Of course I'm afraid having damaged the main board, but I don't think its probable. Following your detailed video I experienced no difficulties, even if the LCD was hard to remove. Only thing I came to think of is that I've pushed the plug in a wrong way to reassemble the units. If I want to flash: any suggestions? and how can I in fact do anything if I cannot enter my PIN code or locking code, connecting to PC-suit?
@lillistube Nokia care can flash without needing the screen working but I doubt if flashing will fix the problem. Apart from getting hold of another C7 I can't think of anything else you can try, sorry
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT instructions! I have just changed my C7 digitizer and would never had been able to without these instructions. Everything went fine - although I note that the digitizer is very hard to remove the first time from the double-sided sticky tape.

@espaciado82 I think everyone refers to them as LCD even though its AMOLED. If you email the seller you'll probably find it is AMOLED. I not 100% sure but I don't think you can get an LCD screen that thin anyway...

I could repair my phone thanks to this video. Only thing I´s say is not perfect is: at the top of the cover, when you remove the digitizer, there is a small sealing which reminds the double side sticky tape. I did remove it and that was a mistake. Leave that sealing at the spot. Do not remove it. The hardest bit for me was removing the very first bit.
Video is very clear and easy to understand, I did get a little worried about the LCD screen being stuck down so hard but as it says, with a little slow going round the screen it came off without any damage. other than that it all went very well.
This is my son's phone. There are six small tabs holding the stuck-on screen to the plaform below in.
I could not find the way to use that plastic knife, all around the LCD, because it would 'conflict' with these tabs... which I would be bending (ask me how I know..).
Do you think the C7-00 had been modified by nokia for a 'different' mounting of the metal-backed LCD?
See from 3:15 to 3:25; as you were moving the knife around the LCD, hitting no tabs. I simply couldn't do that (ask how I know).
@grimsrudjk I think some dust is quite normal as some of the comments are from people trying to remove the dust. If the metal frame is sitting nice and flush I can't see any reason why it would take more dust than before...
I gave up... Although the removal of the LCD (which is in good shape) in the clip seems pretty easy, in reality it proved to be very difficult to do, like it is stuck on with gorilla glue...
To refrain from causing it any real damage, I will bring it to a laboratory, with the new digitizer and hope they take it off the cost...

Something to add: use a hairdryer to make the sticky tape soft...keep it about 20centimeters from the device and the lcd comes off more easy!
Do it side for side and not for too long on 1 side...

@MrKittxatans Sorry I can't help as I don't have that phone anymore, it shouldn't be too hard after taking the screens and the main board out. Have a good look when its apart and you might find its not too hard...

Great video, thanks. Just installed a new digitizer. But the screen doesn't react to touch across a horizontal section of the screen. Specifically: in normal portrait screen mode with a narrow qwerty keyboard, the whole asdfghjkl doesn't work. Could there be a hair in my socket? Or could it be a dodgy digitizer? I've taken it apart and put it together again - still same problem in same area.

Just put the old cracked digitizer back in - it still works. Seems to be the new digitizer. Any ideas? Am I likely to get a refund?

@laurandpa You can see the mic @ 1:29 . You might have caught it when you were taking the cover off. Have a close look and make sure its not damaged. Also if you have a hair caught under the plug @ 4:27 it can cause that kind of problem...

that was my thought as well. I still have the broken one (which was still 100% functional when I replaced it, was being kept together by my screen protector)..
And I've looked at the rubber cases, but they look quite terrible + I use my phone as gps in the car and I'd have to remove the cover each time I insert it into the plastic holder..

Great Video-done well. But camera on my phone is not working any more after I fixed touch screen. Every time I try to take picture, message appears' Unexpected error occured .Restart Phone'. I have restarted my phone couple of times and even I open the whole phone again twice to double check all the cables are connected. But still same message is appearing on the Phone. Any Help !!

@lovemini13 The first thing I would try is re-installing the firmware, if it still plays up I would try the old digitizer to see if it works ok. If it does then you know its the new digitizer causing the problem...

hello again, i am having a problem regarding the battery life of my C7,
i notice that every time the phone is in my pocket, i feel something hot and when i check it is my mobile which is the camera part is hot a bit and my battery was drained even i just charge it a while ago..it happens to me after i open my C7 to replace the digitizer..
was it because of battery pack or there is something stuck inside?

hi, how do I know that I need to change my digitizer together with my LCD? On the video the digitizer didn't look broken or anything and you changed it together with LCD - was it just for the presentation purposes or there was a reason? I'm hoping my digitizer is still working - at least it was for a moment just after breaking the screen - until the display went totally off I was able to dial numbers and run apps for a short time. Very helpful video, thanks a lot !!!

@TheLondonCentralz If the frames damaged or bent you'll have trouble. Make sure the metal frame is straight by putting it on a flat surface. I had the same trouble with this one after it was sat on

thanks have tried that but it hasnt worked. strangely the camera was coming on randomly before and not atall now. the menu buttons at the bottom dont work either ! ahh ! help ! dj x

@devilishjaney If the camera button is stuck on I think it would stop all the other keys from working on that same ribbon/loom. If the camera was coming on randomly before, it would suggest it might be stuck down or faulty. Have a close look at the camera button, you might find your problem there. If not a new ribbon with all the buttons should cure your problems

I have a Nokia C7 and my problem is the back cover keeps opening up.. it's like when i am holding the phone in mah hand and then am going to keep it in my pocket the back cover opens up ..! quiet frustrated could u please help ??

@dhavalty I had the same problem on this phone. The small metal catch had been bent, after I made it the right shape it didn't fall off anymore. Find another C7 and compare the backs, then you'll see what the problem is..

Thanks for an excellent lesson, however I just cannot get it working. I'm afraid the socket for the digitizer might be broken. Do you consider theese vulnerable, can they be fixed?

In fact i first ordered the digitizer itself from mytrendyphone, couldn't get it working. then I ordered a set with surrounding frame from the same supplier - couldn't get it working either. Have done it before and succeeded (5800)... frustrated

@lillistube Sounds like it might be a main board problem. Try and get hold of another C7 and see if the touch screens work. I would also try re-flashing the firmware to see if that helps...

@LE55ONS Of course I'm afraid having damaged the main board, but I don't think its probable. Following your detailed video I experienced no difficulties, even if the LCD was hard to remove. Only thing I came to think of is that I've pushed the plug in a wrong way to reassemble the units. If I want to flash: any suggestions? and how can I in fact do anything if I cannot enter my PIN code or locking code, connecting to PC-suit?

@lillistube Nokia care can flash without needing the screen working but I doubt if flashing will fix the problem. Apart from getting hold of another C7 I can't think of anything else you can try, sorry

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT instructions! I have just changed my C7 digitizer and would never had been able to without these instructions. Everything went fine - although I note that the digitizer is very hard to remove the first time from the double-sided sticky tape.

OMG... i broke the cable connecting to the digitizer when i was trying to remove the screen from the base which is really stuck in there and very hard to remove,
phone is working properly but not the touch screen and i need to replace my digitizer which is i think it's hard to find it here in my place( Bahrain).normally how much the digitizer cost?

Hi i see this video can be very helpful, at least for me because I need to replace my broken screen. I was just wondering if you can tell me where I can buy the correct type of screen seeing that the phone uses and AMOLED display and in every site I enter to buy a screen they are promoted as a LCD display. Please help me with this, thank you and keep up the good work!!

@espaciado82 I think everyone refers to them as LCD even though its AMOLED. If you email the seller you'll probably find it is AMOLED. I not 100% sure but I don't think you can get an LCD screen that thin anyway...

I could repair my phone thanks to this video. Only thing I´s say is not perfect is: at the top of the cover, when you remove the digitizer, there is a small sealing which reminds the double side sticky tape. I did remove it and that was a mistake. Leave that sealing at the spot. Do not remove it. The hardest bit for me was removing the very first bit.

Video is very clear and easy to understand, I did get a little worried about the LCD screen being stuck down so hard but as it says, with a little slow going round the screen it came off without any damage. other than that it all went very well.

This is my son's phone. There are six small tabs holding the stuck-on screen to the plaform below in.
I could not find the way to use that plastic knife, all around the LCD, because it would 'conflict' with these tabs... which I would be bending (ask me how I know..).
Do you think the C7-00 had been modified by nokia for a 'different' mounting of the metal-backed LCD?
See from 3:15 to 3:25; as you were moving the knife around the LCD, hitting no tabs. I simply couldn't do that (ask how I know).

@grimsrudjk I think some dust is quite normal as some of the comments are from people trying to remove the dust. If the metal frame is sitting nice and flush I can't see any reason why it would take more dust than before...

I gave up... Although the removal of the LCD (which is in good shape) in the clip seems pretty easy, in reality it proved to be very difficult to do, like it is stuck on with gorilla glue...
To refrain from causing it any real damage, I will bring it to a laboratory, with the new digitizer and hope they take it off the cost...
