not bad, I counted 8.5 seconds after the windows logo fully formed (that's how I count startup times, it works for me)

on my pc I can get it to boot 5 secs after the logo forms, but it's more like 7 or 8 secs now that it's slowed down a bit

slowed down from all the programs that are compatible with pc that is. all the programs that I like to use that are completely compatible with pc and not mac. all the programs on the internet. every program I got without worrying if it was mac or not.

You get an XP mode with Professional & Ultimate Edition, so that XP issue won't be a problem, 7 will also be cheap, preorder it at the moment, you can get Professional for £70, plus I've started it up on a 2.0 GHz Dual Core Laptop with 3GB of RAM, 7 does start up faster, I compared to my Bro's Aluminium Macbook, I'm don't mind OS-X, but please, if you want to play games you need MS, The only game I have ever played on a Mac is WoW. 7 has everything a gamer needs in an operating system

As a general rule, if it works with Vista, it works with 7. Also if it doesn't work with Vista, it's likely not going to work with 7 either. 7 just doesn't add many "new" problems like Vista did over XP with its horrid hardware compatibility.

Maybe I should make a video going on how I feel that Windows 7 feels like Vista SP2, with some minor UI tweaks.

Though I have to say - Ubuntu still boots faster on my system, takes like 20 seconds (although its like a 10 second difference.)

Though I have to say, and this is un-bias because I use Windows and Ubuntu as my Primary OS' right now, but my Dads Dual-800Mhz G4 boots in like 5 to 10 seconds.
