most of jamaican culture is ACTUALLY INDIAN CULTURE that was introduced by indian slaves brought by british troops. Ganja names after the river ganga was first smoked by indian sadhus introduced to africans in jamaica. Regae is based on the repetitive notes found in indian RAGA music...thug culture was a religous cult in india, known as the Thugees, hand signals, flags, colors, martial laws, were all part and parcel of Thugee culture of india.

As for Indian influence on music, it's more prevalent in Calypso music.
