Holy fuck I remember looking up from Foxtrot and seeing Funnel Clouds. No one thought of a tornado at first, but than it came.

aww that ain't nothing for blackdown, its when there is lots of purple in the clouds you know you probably going to have a micro burst ( little tornado ) I was in Juliet company, my barracks box was on the far side of "the bowl" as we called it, don't know if it still is, its the big outdoor rifle range. what a bloody mess that was!

I was with the GT's this summer.

They freaked out because of this storm. Hyperventilating, fainting, ghosts and curses. It was pretty intense!

I wasnt there but Blackdown is like a desert, and like a rain forrest. the weather changes so quickly and its so hot in the middle of the day (lvl 5) then freezing in the night. its crazy! (:D)

Wow, so thats the famous storm. Just got back from BLC yesterday. There was a storm that was exactly the same thing, but the conditions weren't perfect. I was in Delta, and the staff were saying "its just like last year" "get the fireblankets off their beds" "prepare for a severe weather" and it was awsome. Finally get to see the famous storm. Thanks :)

I was in Echo when this happened. it started raining out of nowhere. The drill team and i were practicing rifle drill, and suddenly we had to book it inside with the rifles in hand. one guy's tilley blew off and hit me hard in the face. lol it was impossible to sleep that night BTW im going to alpha this summer

Dude!!!!!! I remember thiss!!! we were running around in the rain and we were drenched within seconds. That was the night we exploded glow sticks all over our tent bc the power was out. If you're referring to my earlier comment about the heavy wind then I still disagree with you. Kids exaggerate things at Blackdown - that's how ludicrous rumours start. I lived through the storm too (& filmed it); the wind was heavy but there was no tornado on the parade square.

I got to walk from the gates to A coy lines just after the rain stopped. All the power was out and our office was in a few inches of water, but the lighting was spectacular.

I was a sergeant in Hotel company and I was off base when this happened. right when I stepped on base the storm stopped and like that I was on duty AND I woke up to fire alarms and made sure the cadets were okay. I got no sleep that night and payed for it two days afterwards because I didnt get enough sleep the night of the mess dinner either. Wish I could have seen the storm though, it looked fierce

I was in Baisic Band (J-Coy). Everyone went insane because most of them did not know about Blackdown weather. One of the Cadets in my tent tried to run to the washroom, but a Sergeant kicked him out twice! In the end we were ordered by the C/Sgt. to go to the male lavratory. When we got out, everyone had the same thought; 'where's RSM Paul when you need him?'. It was, no dobt, the highlignt of the Camp.
