@sofargone561 My fathers 2001 vette with the stock LS1 put down 322hp to the wheels. It was a vette dyno day sponsored by his club so we dynoed probably 15 stock LS1's and they put down from about 305hp to 322hp to the wheels, my dad's put down the most hp for the stock vettes. The ones with less horsepower must have been made on a friday afternoon at closing time when everybody was rushing out the door for the weekend. We were really surprised to see that much difference between them.
@sofargone561 It depends on if the 240's chassis is lighter then the vette's, it is called power to wieght ratio. So if your car produced 300hp and wieghed 3000lbs your power to weight ratio would be 1:10 or 1hp per 10lbs. My cbr929rr street bike has a 1:2.5 ratio or 1hp per 2.5 pounds, thus the reason streetbikes accelerate so fast. I know you drop a lot of weight going from the cast iron 240 engine to the all aluminum ls1 but not sure how much.
At that time it was at about 345hp and about 350 ft-lbs of torque

Those look like cobra rims to me better check again chemao

probably around 330-350. but the real winner is the fact that you make all that power and tq low in the rpms. thats why it jumps so hard

@BigBassTurd You lose between 40 and 60 lbs, depending on what mods you do to the engine.
