For 1. Click ratchet off when hookup so you dont grind it, 2. keep tension on pole so fish no mo chance for spit hook, 3. release drag "alittle" and guide the line up with the gaff so slack no catch cliff and fish no pull you over cliff if he slip off gaff. After awhile it should come natural and feel like 2nd nature.
Nice fish, and nice spot. Looks pretty easy to fall to your death though. Has anyone ever while fishing?
