@sprygeoffreya17 im a relatively new Beatles fan, and im no expert at music, but the Lyrics sound to me like hes saying sorry to Paul, but people tell me its about Yoko Ono, its on the same album (Imagine) as How do you sleep? and the album itself has a postcard of Lennon holding a pig by its ears, mocking Paul's Ram album. in that case its more truce to paul than sorry in my opinion.

Apologising for pursuing her to begin with, "I was trying to catch youe eye, thought that you was trying to hide". His first wife was a bit upper-crust, socialy, and young John did persue her to win her. Then of course, dumping her for Yoko was a terrible thing for her, socially, and especialy with a 6 year old son. I remember feeling terribly sorry for her.Cynthia or Paul.
