  • When I'm in the studio, I'll take and hold the painting up to a mirror to get the big picture. It generally tells me the truth on how I'm doing and which direction I should be going. I find it's like an honest person standing there giving me the real opinion I need about the picture.

  • Thanks Alex! It sounds like you are monitoring your progress much like an athlete might to record improvement. Very good idea!

  • Hi Brad, just found you yesterday and have already watched a dozen or so videos. I really like the way you talk about your paintings, I can really see your right brain working and it is really helpful. I am self taught painter and I struggle with many things. I usually take a photo and look at it in my camera. I download it and edit it in my computer, I upload it to my website. I take many progress shots as I develop the image, each an opportunity to re-look, re-see...thanks!
