Northern Pike in Canada can be huge....a muskellunge even bigger and at a place called Point Lake In Northern Alberta there are some huge Lake Trout. In the Arctic Circle near James Bay there are also monstrous fish...Just saying....Love a good fish take and personally I would not want to be on the receiving end of a bite from one of those Alligator Garrs....great pictures....Keep on posting....
I"ve had smaller ones in my tank... like maybe 2lbs if that. foot and a half to two feet long.. but ffs I have seen those guys eat and I would NOT want to be the bait. they're worse than good piranha
waiting for the comments from the internet invincibles..............just pick it up it wont hurt''................or fag i catch those bigger'' im sure they have been here
@MrCraigmather no not reallly no offence but the pike in america are actually bigger and better predators...... not saying the uk pike itsnt but honestly the gator gar would snack on the uk world record pike everyday. this isnt a insult btw i knowit sounds mean
@Paladin5555 get your fact right before you post silly comments - all the fish we catch are released - our only trophy is the photo - watch carpandcatbussters closely ;0
Because of you these people, living creatures that need to be protect are getting more and more less. You're the one who made them extinct shortly.. Stop fishing them.. Imagine your nose got hung by these sharp baits and bleed in pain!!!!
@CatBusster I am just saying the fact. Fact is the fact. Either fisherman got release them or not, they are soon going to die once they got hurt in the beginning. No point asking me to get the fact right. I am saying the truth.
I really don't think that most of them never got released back into the water like they say, there
was not one bit of video showing them being let go back into the lake or river. If they did they should of showed it like any other fishing show does. Sorry guys just my opinion!
@columbetti2008 we all have an opinion - right and wrong depending on the circumstances but in best interests of this video the fish and capture were of prime importance not the release footage
@vitalservice2003 Hell no! I live in Oklahoma and catch gar sometimes, not by choice, and they are full of tiny bones and slimey as hell! Now everytime one is on the line I generally cut the line and make piece with my lure. Not to mention if you ever get one in the boat and it goes to flop around, the slime is like getting oil off. Gar is what me and my friends call junk fish, they really have no purpose for a sport or dinner fisherman.
@CatBusster I dont even mind the bow fishing. the alligator gar is among the oldest complex marine life on the planet and there going endangered because of ass holes like this because people think they kill sport fish witch they dont they kill sick and dead fish and small fish to conserve energy
@teamreflexpaintball you brainless monkey is that for me? i said animal and you saying fish was animal then say fucktard? go fuck your bonobo causin atleast to your kind you make sense
@lyntonio If the show "River Monsters" is to be believed, it's because there was a terror campaign launched against them and they were supposedly hunted a lot back in the 30's and 40's.
@lyntonio because stupid ignorant sports fisherman kill them or wrap duct tape around there mouths to protect there precious Large mouth Bass, personally I'd rather catch a gar. Also in texas the government killed hundreds of thousands of them because of there stupid irrational fears. Gar were here long before any bass, if you look at fossil records. They survived the mass extinction when the dinos were all killed, yet we may be the ones wiping them off the face of the earth.
Glad you released it. It always pisses me off when hayseeds catch these big fish, whether catfish, gar, or anything else, and then proceed to bludgeon them to death. Such a spectacular specimen deserves to live and continue to spread its impressive genes.
bowfishing for sport is fucking evil...if you're helping reduce the surplus population, then by all means, kill them and leave them on shore...but killing these animals for fun? that's just wrong...
@fishman017 First off, no they are not considered the same as "animals" as we know them. Many vegetarians even eat fish. These alligator gar are gar, they (like all gar) have a very tender backstrap of meat. It can be fixed in a variety of ways. It can be eaten. Quit looking ignorant on YouTube. You're just embarrassing yourself.
There's alot of gar that's pretty big at our local lake here in Louisiana. When I try and set the hook on these guys they release the hook. How do I properly snag or what hook do I need to use?
last time i went fishing with my dad he caught 1 7 feet 4inches long weighed about 436lbs. those where all considered babies around here....Gibson, Louisiana.......want to catch a big 1 come down here and go to the hot water canal
@maryeis300 Head of a crocodile - Body of an armour plated pike - native american indians used to their scales as arrow heads tied to reed or bullrush for waterfoul
