I kind of wonder, where this 2005 White Sox team ranks in the History of baseball. I mean the way they dominated BOTH the regular season AND post-season was just amazing. No team in the last decade dominated like this team did. This team and the Oakland A's of 1989 I find in my opinion are two very underrated teams because they dominated both the regular and post seasons. They both have to be considered among the greatest teams ever. Just my opinion and observation.

I was in Champaign, IL when I saw White Sox history being made! Heard that there was a madhouse in Chicago's Bridgeport after the final out with honking horns and personal fireworks going off. Too bad that the Cell did not set off its own fireworks in celebration. Nancy Faust was at Cork and Kerry's on the South Side when all of that went down very happily for the White Sox!! But at least, no tornado sirens at all like what happened when the Sox won the last World Series.

The White Sox hadn't even played in one since 1959, 46 years earlier!! At least it had only been 18 years for the Red Sox who had last played in one in 1986. Unfortunately the other team from Chicago (the Cubs) are still waiting for a title for the first time since 1908, and even a pennant for the first time since 1945!!
