Absolutely. Putting electric motors into warbirds is just blasphemy. I've got a friend with an electric Corsair which looks the part but sadly just doesn't sound it - and a high speed low altitude pass sounds great in any petrol plane. Scale petrol passes however, are to die for...
putting electric engines in warbirds are ok because one you dont have to buy fuel. 2 there quiet so you can fly them near people 3 the motors are cheaper. i still see your point buy electrics are just cheaper and easier to use
@WOWismycrack in my book, batteries that can blow up and burn your house down, and speed controls that fail frequently, are more trouble than its worth to fly. i prefer glow power because i dont have to buy 50 expensive lipos to have a full day at the field with all my planes.
plus they sound much better, especially 4 strokes. electrics tend to sound like jets no matter what type of model its in. sound is half of the fun, afterall.
Electric models almost never sounds like full scale planes. But You know that, so... you also know that only model jet turbines sounds like original jet engines. So, models are just models... even INTERNAL COMBUSTION engines in model sounds poooooooorly... and I bet that yours model sounds badly.
that is true my stryker goes faster. and gas planes do have more power. but can it do straight up verticle for as long as you want??? and there is no way that thing could even pull 25 pounds
Lol, believe it or not, this engine can pull the plane vertical it has enough power, honest! I'll get a video of it asoon as i can mate. I got to admit the gas engines have there advantages and disadvantages, they sound great and have lots of power but they are messy and expensive to run. And i couldnt put an elctric engine in this beautifull ww2 warbird could i guys??? :-)
To be fair, your stryker may be faster but it ''isnt'' more powerfull than this gas plane. I say this because bear in mind... this gas plane weighs just over 5 kg (10-11LB) with a wingspan of almost 66 inch and it flies at top speed of 50-60mph. So this engine has more than enough power to pull me along the floor 'try doing that with your stryker'. Your strkers a nice plane too :-)
with wich programm did yiou do that video of the remote control in the other?

Hearing that engine scream is just wonderful. Lord knows why guys insist on putting electric engines in warbirds.
