@Yumscrubble Sorry you feel it is over-priced, you are not alone, but it is in line with other films like this which are low-volume sales. Hollywood can sell dvds for £10 or less because of high volumes to the mass market. We would love to reduce the price but it's all about supply and demand. We may try a time-limited price reduction to see how things go. Thanks for your feedback.
@1080filmandtv Thanks for replying. I understand the commercial realities, of course. But by raising prices to recoup your smaller sales, you do reduce your sales still more. Only a small band of enthusiasts will pay those prices. That obviously reduces the impact your film can have, and probably limits your aggregate revenue stream, too. Time for a rethink?
If whatever this guy's way of doing things worked then shouldn't somebody be presenting it to the governments of Kenya and Ethiopia so they can try to fix the problem in the horn of Africa this way?
@MsColdCanada This is happening. Yacouba has been invited to attend a UN Convention to Combat Desertification summit in October this year. 150 environment ministers will watch the film, followed by a Q&A session with Yacouba. This came about after a Desertification summit in Caux, Switzerland where the film was screened and Yacouba attended.
@1080filmandtv That's fantastic. I do hope they put real action behind this. It is, in my opinion, the best approach for addressing future food insecurity in the world. Donor aid is unsustainable.
@kutblok Relax! to date, Yacouba Sawadogo has received no aid from DC or anywhere else. I guess that includes your wallet. That is the point of the film, he did it on his own. I suggest you watch it before posting here.

Awesome just ordered a DVD, though I agree with @klhighbury selling sort of a "ticket" or online viewing is a good idea, hell sell a full download. It will end up on torrernts anyway, you can't fight that anymore but when you give people a way to easily contribute they will.
Brilliant story. Pity the film is so outrageously expensive for individuals to buy. The trailer makes me want see more!

Thanks for sharing this quality trailer. A topic I passionately aspire to volunteer my film skills toward.

Somehow these stories always have a chapter where they go to Washington DC with their hand out.

@MisterSoul99 What is really eing done is that the hand is pulling something out of your wallet.

@1080filmandtv OK thanks but I'm in the UK. Highbury.
Is it online? You could charge and allow a one time viewing. That's pretty common nowadays, much more environmentally friendly too.
