Hi, Nice vid. Have a question though. Is the fingerprint reader (and its software) working fine with Win 7? If initially it didn't where did you find the drivers/software? Any other drivers etc I should download before installing Win 7 on my UX1XN?? All help would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
Risk it? Have you any choice...seriously...XP is fucking 8 years old, it's less table than Windows 7, it's slower than Windows 7 according to many tests, it's a LOT less secure than 7, XP still has the DLL hell problem, seriously... if you want to put an 8 year old OS on hardware from 2009/2010, then you're a complete moron, XP doesn't even support dual core processors as well as Vista and 7 do.
A change to a new OS is always one with sacrafises, young people like you are basically grew up with XP and used it for almost 8 years, you're so confident with that OS that you're now too chicken to make the change! I'm a lot older than you, I had the guts 2 years ago to make a change to 64 bit, if I have that guts at my age, then why don't you have the guts to switch to 7 at 22 years of age???
I'm gonna be honest when I bought my alienware m9700A in 2007 it came preloaded with windows Vista Home Premium and I had excatly 1GB of ram also 2X 512 to make the 1GB it ran good but running an OS on excatly 1GB it's not worth it you need to have at least 3GBS but I already tried Windows 7 RC it's pretty fast and better then Vista's loading time.
uhh there pretty good for a mobile pc ,do you really think ?
it's not like he is on a desktop doing this , he was running vista on his MOBILE Sony Vaio Vgn , its a mobile pc , you wouldn't expect 3g of ram or 800gs or HD or a core duo processor dude maybe you should pay attention to the video
i think you should give it a shot and try it and if you want a factory install you have to wipe out and format your hard drive and i think you should risk it my friend has a 2007 dell inspiron 531 desktop stamped with vista home premium but
I reformatted his hard drive to wipe it clean then i installed windows 7 RC 7100 and hes happier than ever everything is working grade A and he doesnt want to got back to vista ever again.unless he has to.
I'm going from XP to 7, and someone commented that not all the drivers are going to work...but what do u think? The restore disk would be teh current XP state, and while installing it, I'll have to wipe out Ubuntu as well so I hope I know which is which. LOL
yeah i know exactly what you mean well the guy that commented the drivers wont be the same yes they will be if your laptop model has updated drivers for it windows 7 will automatically find specific updates for it when you do windows update so cheers=) try it out go to my video and download windows xp pro sp3 and its updatable and genuine from me to you that way you have a back up operating system to use which will be in factory state and yes it will wipe our your ubuntu if you reformat only
windows 7 is way better than vista. Dunno about the screen readers or the software you use, but with the stuff I use i didn't get any errors so far. It's also way faster than vista. But the guy was right.. stay away from vista.
Well is basically what VISTA must be from the very beginning . More compatible XP and beautiful and new like VISTA .
In this win7 less , less heavy then VISTA ... graphic and other Explorer stuff quick faster then ever ... some new unseen option like the taskbar stuff and so on .
I am just wondering how microshit will tell all the Vista Customer that they pay $150 in a system that are already obsolete lol .
I would say go for it. The only other thing I'd suggest is to burn a CD of something like GParted so that if something goes wrong in the installation you can wipe the drive again without any trouble.

@sidhaarthm The fingerprint software wasn't prepared for 7, and Sony said they had no plans to officially support Windows 7 on that system.

@rml695 But does it work? and if yes, how? Thanks

@sidhaarthm Don't think so. I have since put Ubuntu on mine.

win 7 is not cool
exklimexklim 2 years ago
You already said that. I want to know WHY and don't say "just because" - I want proof that Vista is better than 7. Just so u know, I don't game.

i have win 7 in my in my acer aspire 6920 and is cool i dont have any problem with it
exklimexklim 2 years ago
I would not risk putting it on that swystem, the reason i say that is because if vista is not working on it windows 7 won't either
