Good observation, I saw him kill it earlier. WE are a large apartment complex in lower Manhattan with 110 building and 50,000 people. Our hawks are like our pets. When crowds gawk at them eating they sometimes leave their prey in a tree and come back later. Spitfire left it on a limb near my apartment window when he was disturbed. When he came back I ran down with the camera.
