@warp123warp Again, this is for desktop only and custom build gaming system, you will not be able to with a laptop computers, have they limitations on the BIOS and M-CPU's are just design as what they are and they already should have turbo and hyper Threading switch make the cpu go up from 2.00 to 2.6ghz

@strangerlover11 With that motherboard, it's will have some limitions on overclock, and this is due to the mosfets and the power capacitors that is limited on the MB, this iisn't a Med or High end motherboard, it will do some overclocking but not much, I would not use this overclocking setting, you might be bale to get 3.3Ghz stable

@strangerlover11 if you are able to get your hand on a more slighty better motherboard i will help you overclock then but for now play it safe with that Motherboard. it's can be overclock to at lease 3.3Ghz but you going to need a very good air flow case as well to cool off those mosfets

@vincenteke95 then maybe it possible, how many rads do you have and pumps, I ask because the CPU is being stress out at 4GHz and you would want it to stay cool at all times and I have seen people O.C E8400 at 4Ghz but temp are either in their 47C to 50C, also the motherboard has to be a very top line 775 sockets too to handle the O.C on 1.336 or 1.334 voltages.

No you can't with a laptop, or less if you have a MSI or ASUS notebook computer that has the BIOS settings to O.C but did you know that your CPU @ 1.73GHz can already boost up to 2.6Ghz or 2.8GHz when turbo boost and HT is enable switch is already when full load. You juts don't know that when you brought the quad core notebook. read your specs on the system next time

@KusHDivine sounds like a Mobile notebook computer to me, no it's not safe is if a Dell, Gateway, HP but if you have a aftermarket notebook computer like MSI or ASUS then most likely they will have an aftermarket heatsink design for overclocking. Heat will becoming an issue if you trying but most standard notebook you will not be able to change the Block, QPI, Etc settings

Don't you mean i7 720QM.. first and foremost it's an notebook PC and not sure what or who is the design notebook product brand name is , Dell, HP, or Etc but if's it's not a aftermarket notebook computer like ASUS, or MSI then you will not be able to.. You made end up causing too much heat for the processor switch is a Mobile CPU and this video is attend for desktop only. You're better off just setting the CPU the way it is now.. Should damage your motherboard if u O.C

I have the GA-P55-USB3 mobo with the Core i5-750 will my OC be more stable with Turboboost and Speedstep off? In the previous 3.6 OC video you had Turbo enabled and speedstep off. I was confused because usually turning one or the other off creates issues with overclocks?

Thanks man, before i was having trouble having a stable OC of 4.01 on my i7 860, but i forgot to disable virtualization and the other feature in the MISC section. So far(with my noctua nh-d14 cooler) my temps in prime 95 doesn't go past 76c for any of the cores. It is still running now and it has been for 3 hours, so far it looks good :)

Also it seems going for a x21 multi was fine for my i7 860, didnt see any signs of turbo enable

Also this is with hyperthreading enable, also during the test the highest my cores dance around is 72-75c (hitting 76c for a few sec sometimes)

Thanx for the effort of making a video.I just cant understand why my CPU still has turboboost enabled.I have it set as disabled and the multiplier at 20 and it shows as 3.6GHz in the CPU freguency line.But when I goto M.I.T. Current Status it says

Standard Clock: 3666 MHz

Turbo Boost Clock: 3843 MHz

And in windows its always at 3.8 GHz.The only difference to your Overclock is that I have different BaseClock,Voltages and my Memory is running at 1080 insted of native 1333

@IrishTopgun12 1080 from 1333MHz , You know that you can balance that out if you know how to overclock the CPU higher, Now it only matter if you have a greater motherboard that can withstand 195 at the base clock.

@keiki646 I have a GA-P55A-UD3.So I left Prime95 on over night for ~12 hours and the max tep was around 70°C on one core,but i checked every 2 hours or so and it usually was at around 58-64°C.I still have to run memtest86 and then do a full 24 hours of prime95.I still cant get the Multiplier to go to x20 but as long as its stableit doesnt really matter.
