The user Zebul's posted a link to a video called "Diatomaceous Earth for Bed Bugs | Description and Tools", while I support other videos from other users on similar content (why I mentioned the title), I caution viewers to some of the content contained within that video, the video mentioned talks about using DE as a barrier around your bed which is a ineffective method to keep bed bugs away from your bed, it will also not solve your infestation which the video passively suggests
Actually you don't have to buy pest control specific DE, food grade works just great! The only thing that makes pest control DE different (and only in some of them, because some are exactly the same as food grade) is that they add a chemical to make the insect move around more so they die faster.
@gar06009 this comment is incorrect, research out of Ohio St. University has shown that many other forms of DE have little to no effect on bed bugs, you should purchase DE manufactured for pest control purposes
@BedBugCentralTV Try looking at the ingredients in "pest control" DE, it only has chemicals that cause the insect to be agitated. If agitating the insect is all it takes to kill it then you would be right. If by "Other forms" you mean pool filter, than sure that doesnt kill insects, but who spreads that around their house anyway?
@BedBugCentralTV Also the product you are telling people to use is exactly the same as food grade diatomaceous earth, so you can't discredit my previous comment unless you know for a fact that the videos advertised product is any different at all.
Here's an alternate script: Today I will be discussing Diatomaceous earth. Diatomaecous earth or DE, which I have in this container, is a popular product many are considering for pest control.
Constructive criticism: Your presentation style is characterized by unnecessary repetition and verbosity. Transcript: "I wanted to talk to you guys ABOUT A VERY POPULAR PEST CONTROL PRODUCT THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT and its right here next to me in this little canister here and its called diatomaceous earth or DE and uh its obviously AS I SAID A VERY POPULAR PRODUCT THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT" You really could have said all of this in one coherent sentence.
@BuyMyStuffFresno This is something i've noticed about all your presentations. I am unsure if you do this deliberately to extend the duration of your videos or if you simply cannot see the value of brevity.
I've used DE before and you should be very wary of what kind you get like he mentions in the video. Inhaling ANY form of it can damage your lungs so you should always wear a mask when applying it somewhere(make sure pets don't breath it in as well). The food DE is edible, but I'm not sure if there are any scientific studies that say they benefit humans in anyway if you consume it. I have heard that it helps in deworming animals, but it's best to do your own research before feeding it to them.
@monkeyking4335 Check out my channel if you want to see a video review of the results of drinking DE. I posted a video two days ago and I will be posting another one a week from that date so people can visibly see the results of consuming DE. :)
Ok. A bit annoying. Food grade works well. I don't like people thinking they have to pay extra to get the specialized product.
