I saw this movie the other day. Aside from the crap acting, the obvious christian themes and the weird interloping music, it was an okay movie. I was rooting for Caleb throughout. I liked the part where Caleb and his firefighter friend Michael talk about how being in a committed relationship is equivalent to a college degree.
This is a work of Christian Literature! I am PROUD to state that I was MOVED TO TEARS when I watched it. I have since also watched: Fireproof, Flywheel and Facing the Giants! All of which have truly touched me and am certain have been life altering! Thank You! God Bless You!

The evangelicals have bombed all over the negative reviews on RT, and circlejerked enough to drive the users' rating up to 86%. All they have in Hollywood are this twerp, Stephen Baldwin, and Cuba Gooding Jr. They're embarassed and scared, and it shows.
All those people say this movie could have been better or it was too predictable but you know what I say!? I say this is a wonderful Godly Christian movie and I already know its changed people's lives. I love it so much and I don't see how anyone could think it was poorly written so you know what if you think its so terrible why watch the youtube videos and then post those comments on the acting. You people obviously don't know what a good family Christian movie is.

For people who don't understand the film, both of them were wrong. It's just that Caleb took the initiative to save the marriage and in the end, became a better person in which he influenced his wife to become a better person herself or as she said at the end, to be like him. Just like how Caleb's mother used the Love Dare to become a better person and influenced Caleb's father. It's sort of like the Christian idea of being a better person to incite curiosity of others to know why or how.
If Christians put more money in their movies than in their pockets, they'd come out way better. Oooooorrrrr... if they actualy put it to things like feed the hungry and help heal the sick. Seems like the only Christians giving are the poor ones while rich ones just pray.

To be honest, I came here ready to troll this movie, christians, etc. But when you think about it, they got what seems like (based on this being the only scenes I've seen, never saw whole thing) a Lifetime/Hallmark movie of the week green lit. Not only did it get the green light, it got a wide release, placed in the top 5 opening week, and was the #1 indie film of 2008. You can't hate on the this fact: Budget-$500,000. Theater Gross:$33,456,317. DVD-$28,507,308. Flipped it 100 times. Money.

There are a lot of films that do promote decency and morality but do not promote Christianity. Christian films are made to specifically fill that gap. The problem is that so many Christian movies are focused on putting Christianity front and center that they forget to add decent acting and writing to go along with it. Hopefully the quality of Christian films will go up over time, though films like "Fireproof" show it'll be quite a while before they do.

The best parts were not even on here! The part where she discovered who paid for the bed and when she's crying looking in her draws, and when they run to each other! Other than that, yeah these parts are hilarious! Especially the "tomato juice" part!

Not that I don't like cheesy but this movie pushes religion too much in your face. This is why alot of romance movies are secular. For those who have not seen the whole movie not only is this random scenes from the movie, but these scenes are cut and put together differently with missing parts. It seems to make the scenes loose quality as you don't see the build up to certain parts. It makes it feel disjointed, it's also hard to keep up with the switch from the serious scenes to funny then back to serious again.

To be honest, I came here ready to troll this movie, christians, etc. But when you think about it, they got what seems like (based on this being the only scenes I've seen, never saw whole thing) a Lifetime/Hallmark movie of the week green lit. Not only did it get the green light, it got a wide release, placed in the top 5 opening week, and was the #1 indie film of 2008. You can't hate on the this fact: Budget-$500,000. Theater Gross:$33,456,317. DVD-$28,507,308. Flipped it 100 times. Money.

There are a lot of films that do promote decency and morality but do not promote Christianity. Christian films are made to specifically fill that gap. The problem is that so many Christian movies are focused on putting Christianity front and center that they forget to add decent acting and writing to go along with it. Hopefully the quality of Christian films will go up over time, though films like "Fireproof" show it'll be quite a while before they do.
