Don't get me wrong, you have a good understanding from my limited reading. Most of us will never be able to truely spot a psychopath unless you have a chance to spend some close time with one and usually you can spot one upon entering into a relationship be cause a psychopath has little ability to wait on their agenda.

. Most of the Youtube presenters who talk in-depth about psychopaths don't really seem to have a clear understanding other than what they have read. You can spot these presenters because at some point they will say "we are all psychopaths or our financial leaders are psychopaths. I have lived with a psychopath for some time.

The lying about money, controlling the environment of the person taking care of them, or rather trying to controlling everything that their care-taker does. The anti-social behavior, even when ordering food or buying cloths, seemingly very impolite attitude, odd sleeping habits, paranoia regarding people following them or talking and planning to get them, dilutions of grandeur (I’m a famous singer, movie actress, or model).

No, most psychopaths are not walking next to us on the street, nor in high finance. They survive by choosing and manipulating a single person who believes their pitch to take care of them because they cannot finish school nor maintain employment or so often used (that person abused me). The paranoia, the lack of empathy, and inability to follow others and the need to control their environment is too strong.

Their drive to control manifested by a fear of doing something someone else’s way, a fear of someone else taking what they have got - creates a mindset that can actually plan and manipulate the life of the person they are with. I can see why psychopaths are easily confused with money There is definitely a touch of hell in taking care of someone with brain problems. But the reword is that you will not have to wonder if she is living on the street somewhere after you dumped her.

It's interesting that we say psychopaths lack empathy, yet it is us who blatantly express lack of empathy for them. What if it's a genetic condition they have no control over? What if a psychopath is someone who has done a really good job of hiding their psychosis, be it drug induced or biologically induced? And, btw, everyone is capable of doing something psychopathic if pushed to the right limits. If you don't' know this, you live in a comfort that not many people experience, so stfu.

This is why we as a species will never overcome oppression and discrimination. People would much rather sit back and give unprofessional armchair diagnoses about something they don't fully understand because they read a book that makes them more entitled by imposing false understanding. There are around 20-25% called 'Right Wing Authoritarians' - nasty bigoted, illogical, blind followers who follow PSYCHOPATHS. Go google 'The Authoritarians' for a FREE book with 4 decades of scientific research on these people - John Dean used the research for his 'Conservatives Without Conscience'...

Just because we don't have a consciousness doesn't mean we don't understand "right" from "wrong", sociopaths are perfectly capable of philosophy, consequentialism, understanding vested interest, and controlling their actions around others as necessary.

By the way you contradict yourself on the blood lust issue, unless you're distinguishing between sociopathy and psychopathy, because you described someone having an elevated blood lust then someone who just wouldn't care or have a reaction.

Sociopathy needs to have it's definition fleshed out more, there isn't enough on it. Sociopathy and Psychopathy aren't really the same thing even though their definitions aren't distinct enough yet, and Sociopaths aren't necessarily "evil" either, most are harmless.

Trust me, if fascism ever takes hold anywhere, for any reason, it will be because a psychopath is at the helm leading an organization of other psychopaths and proto-psychopaths. It just doesn't occur to non-sociopaths to take over the world or dominate other people in such a totalitarian way.

@blkcola In previous centuries it was Satan. Demons possessed human beings who were called Witches. Witch Hunts were conducted. Now we have the Psychopaths (often mistaken with Sociopaths, but who cares, it all tastes like fish.. like scape goats, right!?). And we so do like having someone to blame for all the wrongs we ourselves allow to take place. - So, psychopaths may be hard to spot, but it's not like we're helpless and can't learn. Still, it's so much easier that way: It's all their fault!
