@Ulquiorra911GT3 The best way is separate color layers for face and body, so you can erase it easily. You can use one layer for each section for coloring, it will blend color in better.

@kirakiki678 dunno about that, but if you click on the window bar and chose to show 'Materials' and then also activate 'Tool options', you can choose the 'Stamp Tool' (being the one above the zooming option) and change it into the dodge tool by clicking on the stamp image in Tool Options and selecting 'Dodge'.

Does anyone else have a problem with their Manga Studio freezing whenever they try to use airbrush? If my airbrush is over a certain size it makes my Manga Studio freeze and messes up my coloring. Help!

@akumashitsuji0 The larger the brush, it used more RAM/ Memory from your computer. So when you using larger size brush, it will cause lagging.

What you have to do, is when you change the layer, instead of having it at 1 or 8 bits, you need to change it to 32 bits. Good luck!

There is a color palette in the beginner's assistant with a row all whites. I think you can set custom colors to them but because MS had to not include a manual of any kind, I can't find out what hotkey is for assigning colors in that row nor find any shortcut options to edit the keys. I got Debut version. Please help. :C

I bought this program yesterday, thinking that it was a better or more natural version of Photoshop. From what i gathered with practicing with it these last couple of hours, manga maker encourages you to DO the entire drawing on the program. So it helps if you have a decent wacom. The improvement or edge manga maker has its that its very smooth when you draw lines. It doesnt feel like you are fighting it

Honestly, manga studio debut is great for drawing but as for coloring i think photoshop is better if u dont have EX

@cLcINFERN0671 if you do control B it shows the color on a layer. :-/ but I'm concerned because even when I do that, the only color that shows up is blue!

u probably are under the sketch tab click on the draw tab. If u scanned it onto the computer i hate this cuz i forget but i press twain under files and scan it then i go to layer press new layer and pick color as an option where u see black and white. then go to ur right corner to switch that first layer u have which is the scan and put that one on the bottom and the new layer on the top( by dragging it) that way u can color and ink in over ur scan. do the same for new layers

@littlechefrulez The blend, burn and dodge tool are MS4 EX feature only. In the tool menu, it's under stamp icon, click on the icon and select the tool you need :)

@bgdream23 Put your line drawing layer on the top and color layer below it. You should always use different layer for line drawing and coloring layers.

Thank for the tips! I was ready to uninstall this software and toss the disks into the river. At least now I'm less flustrated. I use Windows 7. I san in my line art and all I want is an affordable program to to add color, effects and lettering. Why this program changes the hues and adds color layers on its own I don't understand. But until I save up the ducks for PhotoShop I'll have to put with Debut 4. And btw, I thank the commenter below, I was looking all over for those damn airbrushes.

dude, took me a year to master this program but thisis the most amazing program ever! i love coloring with it and inking...its awesome. for quicker coloring, use the magic wand inside ur inks(make sure they are NOT anti aliased) and then on ur color layer fill the selection with ur flat layer. Then add layers as u shade. very fast and fun.

The new layer is there and I changed the properties to make sure the color stays the same and resolution is good, but when I say okay, there's nothing there. Are you using debut or EX version? Only EX version with dodge, burn and smudge tools. Both Debut and Ex version should have airbrush. Try press "B" twice on the keyboard to get to the paint brush menu. :)
