I own the Dano '63 re-issue and it stays in tune, they made a few upgrades as well with the bridge and the output jack but retained its unique sound with the hollowbody plywood construction and the lipstick tube pups. This guitar is used by everyone from rank beginners, and due to its unique sound, to megastars like Jimmy Page (check out "Kashmir" video) and current pro players (check out Katy Perry "Hackensack" video).

That is the most retarded guitar I have ever seen or heard. It looks idiotic, it sounds like shit and it will not stay in tune. Ever heard the saying: "They don't make things like they used to"? In this case; thank God! The instruments today are so much better than the shit back then. If you tried to market that guitar today, there would be a lynch mob at the mucis store.

Man, I love Nuno but this whole demonstration was terrible. Crappy guitar, weird and horrible tone... of course the guy's technique is phenomenal, but this just goes to show that a guitar with horrible intonation just can't be made to sound good - even by one hell of a guitarist like Nuno. lol. You ever gone to a guitar store and tried to pick up and play a guitar with horrible intonation? Much less in a situation where you're going to be recorded or listened to? This had to be like that... lol.

Those old Silvertones with the amp built into the case are a tough beast to tame! Nuno does it justice, though, just showing us again why he's one of the greatest guitarists ever. I've got a black Silvertone like that one, and it's a MONSTER!

sounds like Nuno was having hard time with the guitars he's using, coz he repeated "this thing is dead", his own guitar as we aal know is Washburn N4. but for me Nuno is the best talented guitarist, he's a genious.

"This thing is dead" means the strings are dead. Thats why it sounds so dull and flat. Even after he trys tuning it it just gets more andmore out of tune cause the strings are dead.

Also I don't think he was having an off day. I think he was probley just warming up cause hes not missing notes, just missing pick strokes.

i'm sure this was just a spur of the moment thing for nuno. sometimes your playing is just "on", and you can get lost in your playing. other times your just not feeling it, and you have to take a break.
