This documentary was incredible! I am going to order a copy and share with my fellow Hospice volunteers! We can learn so much from this. Am really excited about this as it was so well done. Mahalo.
They are working on gettin Justin a new trial but I think it keeps getting held up with legal BS. He is not from a wealthy family so he didn't get a OJ are Kasey A lawyer. He was barley 18 when he went to jail and has remained there for the last twelve years for making a bad choise on drugs and grtting in the car with a bad person. It was shock to see how much he has changed, he was just a child last time I seen his face.
I know that they must all be getting a ton of fan mail by now from supporters and viewers that were touched by their stories and loved the documentary.
Justin was SUCH a cutie and seemed like a really nice guy ...and he was studying medicine when he went to prison, wow.
Oh, and Boston ....my God that body ...damn, why did they have to be in jail? lol.
@187Skeelo OMG! I was so touched by Justin's story when I watched the documentary. I was just so shocked and in disbelief at his sentencing "life in prison without possibility of probation, parole or suspension of sentence for second-degree murder" ....WHEN HE WAS JUST ONLY A PERSON IN THE CAR and didn't actually kill anyone?! I just know that someone like a really good lawyer/law firm will see his story and re-open his case or get him an appeal or something because that is just RIDICULOUS.
@187Skeelo Justin's story was just really one of the stories that really touched me. Do you know if there are any appeals or anything like that in the works for him? I know that they must all be getting a ton of fan mail by now from supporters and viewers that were touched by their stories and loved the documentary.
AWESOME program, I am touched to see that inmates that are in for life are caring for fellow inmates that are a the end of their life. This Hospice program is a dynamic and life changing!
Just finished watching this on OWN and OMG there aren't enough words to describe the feeling that comes over you while or after you've watched this. It's truly breathtaking and heart wrenching. To anyone that has not watched it take or make the time to watch it it is so inspiring and so compelling. YOU WON'T REGRET IT AT ALL!
Amazing program showing how the human spirit can be changed and compassion can raise to the top. Truly inspiring. Thank you so much for creating this piece. The men of this prison have inspired me to do more with my life.
I work for Hospice in a small country town near a large penetary. I have spoken to some people about working within the prison in this capacity where I have been volunteering for 16 years. This clip has inspired me to just do it, no matter how small, eventually the bucket overflows and things have a way of taking on a life of itself. Thank you to every soul in the clip who has touched me today and inspired me to 'just do it'.
I watched this this morning and cried like a baby. All I can say is thank you so much for doing this documentary. My father is in Angola and I pray daily that we do not have to go through this. Once again, THANKS!!!!!
The inmate volunteers did an outstanding job. The warden has a good heart and I hope this program can be done in other prisons. Thank you OWN for this documentary. Brought me to tears.
HEART WRENCHING.... Thank God we have proof for the ignorant people in this world that anybody is able to change for the better. Forgiveness is important, all of these people earned it.
I am sitting here at my desk with tears in my eyes as I watch this very unpleasant avenue of American life; this public sharing of this humanistic story is probably the most humane approach that is possible... :(
