Also, the thumping baseline that accompanied the percussion was left out. I don't think that this song is inherently bad when played live, I think it just sounds weak here because they left out several crucial elements.

OK I've seen enough vids of my girls and i see the same thing. The vocals on the studio version are way to processed to reproduce live and most importantly there is a lack of bass and depth which are the main things that bring the songs to life. I'll love the lyrics no matter what.
