I would like to throw out an idea for you and other comment writers. Since he late 1800's and especially since 1948, an enormous amount of effort and money has gone into Israel. A very unfortunate group of people, the Palestinians, has suffered greatly.
If Israel did not exist, or somehow managed to live in peace, where would all that energy and money go? Bluntly, the Palestinians serve as punching bags. Are they taking punches that would otherwise land on me, my country, and my people?
