I found the video easy enough to follow. Given that I've not been asked to pay anyting for this tutorial, it's of outstanding quality! This has been my first foray past 'three open chords strummed in sequence', and I'm now able to play a recogniseable version of Halleluja. Rah! The tab would have been nice, and it'd also have been nice if my classical guitar allowed me to access the higher frets in the solo... can't have it all, though. Thank you!

i thought this was a great lesson.. I can see how it might be hard for a beginer to learn when he's saying this string and that string. but the video basically shows everything he's doing. I am not a great guitarist but was able to pick this song up after watching a few video's took me a few hours to be able to play it half way decent... just keep playin and practicin and any guitarist can learn pretty much any song. Keep rocking people

To the people who think this is too hard and not explained enough. I think this dude is expecting that to attempt the Buckley version of Hallelujah, you will have already accomplished a certain level of guitar playing, as it has some challenging passages and phrasing for a beginner. And i would agree. I think this is a really great breakdown! If it's too challenging, it's probably best to try again after some practice of the basics! Good Luck to all and Thanks for this Video!

i agree, it is a tricky song. BUT its not so through, iwould say im a pretty good guitar player. but i found that when someone says "this string" or "do that with your fingurs" its tricky to follow along. so i understand both sides

@1gaia - I agree. You can't be a beginner guitar player and expect to play this song right out of the gates. You have to have accomplished some level of playing. Not just to learn the song but to follow the direction of the lesson. Awesome break down and very nice explanation of the intro.

I did not mean that if one can't hear what is being played one is not ready. It seems these days that the majority of guitar players rely on TAB. TAB leaves out the nuances and timing of a phrase.

For what it is worth, learning to read and write in standard notation is worth the effort. Also taking time for ear training. Learning this song by ear is a good start.

this is a really good sounding tutorial but it's really hard to learn when you say - just do this with your fingers and hit this string and that string. We can't see what you are hitting and it's sometimes hard to pick up the plucking pattern because you do it for a short period of time. Thanks for taking the time to do this though.

this was a really good lesson mate, only thing i would add is that you cant really tell which strings you are picking. eg you say 'do a C chord and just do this' and pick a bunch of strings. otherwise top lesson, well done.
