If you use Green Pois0n, it's not a tethered jailbreak. I used it on an iPod 2G MC model, the one they claim is only ever a tethered jailbreak, and it was not tethered. It was a 2G(A1288), 4.2.1, MC model and I've had no problems whatsoever. I don't need to plug it in and use any program at all to turn it back on, it just loads up normally. So use Green Pois0n instead of BlackRa1n. ^^

@southiphong This is why it's called a tethered jailbreak, because it has to be "tethered" to your computer to reboot it. :) Use Green Pois0n instead, it won't be tethered. ^^

@blacks858 you should to sync to backup your files before you restore. its the safest option. i dunno about your apps but if you want it back to normal, i reccomend giving it a shot.

@christiangomez5 hey if you go to Computer/My Computer, go to the C Drive, Program Files, Common Files, Apple and the Apple Application Support and save it in there. You should not get that problem. Then from there you can create a shortcut onto your desktop.

@mrcharlesrules if you bought the i-pod after september 09, of 2009, then you have the 3g, and if your still on 3.1.2 your saved..... but if you already updated to 3.1.3 you have to wait until the jailbreak comes out... which might be end of april or in june... you cannot downupgrade from 16gb and up... only 8gb can be downupgraded.... and you shouldnt sync it to upgrade!... 3.1.3 is actually bad! D: there is no hacks for it... just for 2g and 1g not 3g...

@Callidus You can restore it and your warranty will be back in effect. You will NOT keep any jailbroken or App Store apps - you will need to re-sync with iTunes to restore App Store apps. I only jailbroke my device because it had cosmetic damage (a crack) and Apple doesn't cover that. So if your 3GS has no warranty, you might want to consider. (I have an iPod touch 2G)

that's only for ipod touch 3g, and i think the 3gs iphone. and you don't have to reset, you can just plug it into your computer while it says connect to itunes and re-jailbreak it. it will restore all apps and settings that existed before you had to re-jailbreak

when it says connect to itune don t do that and shut the itune down on the computer and click on the blackra1n and make it rain again...basically you are re-jailbreaking and you will not loose any thing on your iphone. I hope that was helpful

Thats the whole point of a tethered jailbreak. This isn't a permanent cure just a fix for how to reboot it. When you turn it off, that will happen EVERYTIME and you will have to repeat these steps in order to reboot it. You WONT have to do it EVERYTIME when an untethered jailbreak comes out but I do not know when.

it lets you get apps for free and a buch of other stuff like a video camera for free and free music. But sice you have an iphone 3g s its teathered. That means that every time you turn it off it needs to be connected to your computer and rebooted as he explains in this vid. To get it jailbroken search up a vid about it.

you have a 3g and when you first use blackra1n, it reboots, then you have to go to black ra1n and make it ra1n again, you have to do this everytime you turn off an ipod touch 3g
