my mom knows him he comes to idaho springs, colorado and we met him in a safeway in the mountains. he is so awesome! i got a signed picture from him! YAY!
Saw the band outside Houston a few wks ago. They were so tight. My bro turned me onto them. I bought all of their cds and have been listening in awe since then. Talked to Stratton and Hamilton. The salt of the earth. Yopu HAVE to see them if they are near you. Come to St Louis guys! I wanna see you in person again!!!!!
Apart from playing great guitar and top vocals, Mr Loomis does a mean Vacuum Cleaner too-- Fantastic! And he plays the harp in two keys in the same song-- awesome!
this young man was mentored by none other than bo diddley (according to bluesville on sirius radio) he is going to be one of the greats. just another kid from texas.
We took our Chicago friends to a Baton Rouge club last weekend. Hamilton is talented with a whole lot of charisma. The sax guy really blows (in a good way.) Very fun and entertaining band. I really hope they hit that single, so everybody can know about them. Keep it up boys!
So I met this guy @ 3 a.m. one morning...his bro-in-law was totally drunk, and dragged him outta bed to meet me. I had no idea who he was @ the time, but THANK YOU BILLY TAYLOR for introducing me to this blues MASTER!!!
Worlds greatest guitar players. In no particular order Edward Van Halen, JImmy Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Ty Tabor, Hamilton Loomis, Jeff Beck. etc etc. Oh and Hamilton can sing a bit as well. Yo Yo Yo!
Saw him at the local jam in Chicago with the impromptu band - one of the best live performances ever. Great guy! Great musician - let's spread the word - the guy deserves to be famous. And rich - wishing him well!
This guy wails!!! I saw him and the band in Fruita (yea, look it up...its in Western Colorado) at the Thursday night concert series....OMG been hooked ever since!
The first time I saw Hamilton Loomis play was at the now defunct Astroworld in Houston, TX. It was hotter than Hell that day and the wax insulation melted out of the back of his Les Paul and got all over his nice silk shirt. This could be that very same guitar...
Hi detharp. I took the following from his web site.
"Yes, it's a vacuum cleaner" is my most repeated phrase at shows lately. I wanted to play harp and guitar, but with the same "Chicago-style" dirty tone. I found a vacuum cleaner attachment at my folks' house in and the harp fit right in it! Chip Todd made a connector for me and now it fits on the end of my Shaker mic (dynamic). I play Hohner Spl 20 harps mainly, and occasionally Golden Melodys. I play harp through a Line 6 Mini POD,
Ham playing with Mud Morganfield plus Blues and Trouble at the Darvel Music Festival on 4 May 2012

@richardcorysghost He actually plays the same key but with two harps. The high one was in first position, and the other harp was in second position.
