This was started by renegade bishops which the Holy Father learn about later on, and so it mushroomed. Only consecrated hands of the priest should touch the Sacred Host. Our Lady laid prostrate when she recd her Dear Son, feeling most unworthy. His Mother! Lets imitate Her!
