  • Big Respect, great to see some serious shit once in a while. love the fact that you don't overdo anything in there, really smooth... a lot of people can learn from this.

especially the last chords with the high synth - when they came in, really nice job...

  • alter :) es is einfach der killer :)

  • I know it's a bit late in the day, but you don't have the WAV copy of this? I absolutely love it. xx

  • @ultimateinfinite I would pay for a WAV version of this.

  • Do you realise this is a future classic? Please archive this!

  • is the soloing done only with sounds inside the esx?

  • Que bonita cancion

  • this is great

  • hey ola solo te queria preguntar como se llama ese aparto porfa contestame!!!!!!!

  • @luis199371 es una korg electribe esx

    saludos

  • eargasm :D

  • like like like like like like!

  • good!

  • this song makes me dance without any drugs! i feel the vibeeee :)

  • that shit looks like a circuit board

  • Hey dude when i'm listenning to it, it makes me so proud of me xD

It's awesome how you can share this feeling ..

  • beautiful. :-)

  • Aha just realised the original video is no longer on here, still check out Denkitribe's stuff though ;)

  • @ ghostradioshow....... Can you please explain to me what a "Kalimba" is? I'm not really familiar with that word. I myself own this piece of equipment as well as the E-MX. I also have a Kaossilator & a Korg synth Keyboard & a Yamaha MM6 keyboard as well which are all fun to play. I'm just wonderin what that is...a Kalimba? is that like something you use to add music to your machines or something? I'm not really familiar with the word, so maybe you can help me out with it. Thanks. preciate it.

  • @HomeboyNJ08 a Kalimba is an African Tumb Piano style instrument similar to an mbira but modernised a little and usually with a hollow bowl to help the sound to resonate. Why not watch the video that this video is in response to Denkitribe's Kalimba with KP3. All Denkitribe's stuff is worth watching to be honest.

  • @davedagreat69 Yea, I've seen some of Denkitribe's stuff B4, & he does have some stuff thats worth the watch. It's pretty amazing the videos that he has & what he does to make his music. Thanks for explaining the Kalimba to me. Sounds cool. I don't know what an Mbira is, but if thats what the same as what a kalimba is, then it must be as 2 what makes the sound to resonate. Do you own any of these machines here or make any music yourself if you do own any of this equipment? curious. Thanx again.

  • @HomeboyNJ08 The only thing I have the same is a Kaoss Pad. I have a number of keyboard synths, a sampler and numerous rack synths. Also various music software such as Stylus RMX which is excellent and ImpOSCar which is also excellent. I did consider getting a Korg Electribe but they aren't portable (i.e. battery powered) which is what I would want. I've played an Mbira but not owned one.

  • @davedagreat69 What kind of kybrd. synths. do you own? What do you use Stylus RMX & ImpOSCar with ( I'm not too familiar with that software), although I know about Fruityloops, Cubase & Acid & stuff like that. I just don't know about the software that you mentioned to me about & what its used for inparticuliary. I do wish also that the electribes were battery operated, that would've been cool. I don't know what an Mbira looks like, but I'm guessing that to own one would be really cool to play.

  • @HomeboyNJ08 I have an Ensoniq SQ80and ESQ1 (this one's at the menders), Korg DW8000, Yamaha V50, TX802, TG55, Casio CZ-1 and VZ10M, Alesis Quadrasynth+, Kawai K5m and XD-5, EMU e6400, and Cubase Studio 4 with the plug-ins I mentioned plus Z3ta+, SonikSynth2 plus other bits n bobs to bring it all together like a MIDISport 8x8, audio patchbay and keyboard mixer etc. I'm more into Ambient stuff but I'll try anything. I also play guitar ;)

  • @davedagreat69 I heard of a few of those keyboards. The Yamaha's I'm slighty familiar with & I think I heard of the Alesis & I know of Cubase. the others I'm not 2 sure about. I only have the 2 electribes (E-mx & E-sx), Korg Microkorg & the Korg XL, Yamaha MM6, 2 Kaoss pads ( yellow & black/red), Digitech RP250(guitar Processor), & Behringer Amp wth sound effect knobs on em. Pretty good set up for now. I mix all kinds of different music & some with voiceovers with the korg which is pretty cool.

  • how the fuck do you sample with that i need lessons on this shit

  • where do you guys buy smart disk cards for this machine,a lot of places in my area stopped selling them for some reason..

  • Its SmartMedia card. They are no longer made, you gotta buy that shit online.

the MAX the ESX can handle is a 128MB smartmedia card...

  • @mysterymediacorp

Smart cards can still be bought through Camera/video shops.

You can also try electronics specialists like Maplin/RadioShack.

Or if your lucky general electronics shops (places that sell remotes, satelite, batterias, pc parts etc).

  • I'm trying to figure that shit out too! I got the sample in but can't loop it for shit. I'm better on my Roland W-30 Keyboard

  • @iunnodiapeys read your manual, you wont get a clearer explanation that what you see there. ..its a set process :)

alternativly sample on something else and save the audio to a card then load the card on your Korg ;)

  • tHAT SIR WAS MUSIC GREAT JOB!! whoops sorry caps lock lol

  • So does that mean you can treat imported samples as synth waveforms? I've been meaning to figure htat out for a while but i couldnt find it in the manual

  • hey this is very amazing nice work

  • Loved the soloing

  • You're so good you made me come up with a new musical concept on the spot. much luv, Ghost.

  • Good good.. ^^ It gave the the rilling on my skin ^^

  • beautiful. I always wanted an esx-1.

  • My bad, the ESX actually has 285 seconds of sampling time.

Thats a little over 4 minutes.

  • Very good! i love it!

  • INSANE solo! Great work.

  • GGGOOOOODDDDD!!!!!!!!

  • Hey! I was wondering how much experience you've had using the electribe :) Thanks! Great video! i favorited

  • deep goodness /)

  • this is all from the ESX-1? Do you reccomend this or the EMX-1?

  • 1 ESX slays an MPC.

  • esx = 8 single shots + 2 poly channels simultaneous

mpc = 16 poly stereo simultaneous

while there are probably some producers who could turn out some great music with an electribe the history behind the mpcs is waaay deeper and their hardware is up to a much higher spec

  • Polyphony really isnt an issue with the ESX if you resample! On the ESX you can resample and process something infinetly. The sound manipulation possibilities on the ESX blow the MPC away.

IMHO the last good MPC was the 3000, and that was mainly because of roger linns involvement.

Since than AKAI has managed to release lackluster machine after lackluster machine milking rogers designs for all their worth!

I also have a 2k...and its collecting dust.

  • I'm exactly in this dilemma whether to get mpc1000 (black), or esx-1 ..

Any suggestion? I play synth-pop .. so i don't really need those techno stuffs.

What gets me upset is that almost AAAALLLL AKAI MPC's videos are about tapping that thing and getting about this hip hop thing.. how about the drum sounds, recording modes and tweaking capability? Is it sample based or drum synth based?

  • For synth pop the ESX is a musicians dream come true. I mean you can synthesize all of your sounds extensively, and play your keys and arpeggiations in the box internally without ever having to worry about using it with another machine.

Plus you get tons of effects, resampling, LFO's, Modulation. filters, time stretching, beat slicing etc......

The MPC 1000 even with the JJoss OS IMHO cannot step the ESX!

  • Great. As i already have some synths (moog lp, juno 60 and crumar ds2) so the main thing is the need of tweakable each part of drum sounds (i don't feel those 808/909 versatile for that kind of money, at least for me), sequencer+sampler so i can load my play and sounds into. So once again, Is that ESX the asnwer? 'cos i don't want to spend ridiculous amount of dough.

Will the memory enough to dump so many samples? how much and where can we can the expansion?

    Thanks so much pmsan29!

  • yup everything on the ESX is 100% tweakable and you can record all of your knob and button tweaks as well.

It comes with 3 minutes stock sample time....not much, but enough to make complete arrangements with!

Unfortunately their are no expansion options.

But really once you start messing around with it, you'll realize you wont need anything else!

  • Id recommend you get an esx,i had one,but sold it to get an akai mpc 2500,but im making hip hop instrumentals all the time. But you seem to like those roland drum sounds, like the 909 and 808,and the esx is perfect for that sort of fun.

Just load em into the esx, with a smartmedia card, and away you go.Its almost like having an 808,as it has the same linear based programming.

  • do you know where you can get additional sound cards with more hip hop based mpc type sounds & drum kicks ?!

  • ok,you will not get a smart media card sold to you with "mpc style" drum hits.

You gotta gets a smartmedia card, buy one online ok?

and start sampling drum breaks outta songs dude, thats what gonna get you the "mpc style" hits....you know?

  • Wow shilt, It feel so good !!!

    Respect .

  • Fucking clowning. That session was dope! I'm glad Im learning the electribe everyone says get an mpc. let me learn the electribe first!

  • can you put long samples in (e.g. full songs) into this baby - i see so much potential, even like 30 second clips. also, does it only take a 1gig memory card????? thanks

  • it only takes smartmedia which i think max capacity is 512 mb ... im not sure but i know they dont ahve much room

  • max size esx can take is smartmedia 128mb.

  • thx for that correction

  • no worries, just in case you went out and bought the wrong one!

  • i gotta 128 mb no worries

  • cool cool, theyre not that easy to find!

i got a smartmedia card that takes XD cards.

slot the xd card into the samrtmedia, and hey presto, memory.

    max 128 mb though.

    dopeness.

  • korg desperatley needs to make a up to date electribe series

thad be dope to mod a hard drive in tthis beast

    lol

  • yeah man,true that.

what pisses me off is that Korg released the ESX when Compact Flash AND SD card were widely available.Roland were releasing their patented "grooveboxes" which (most) of em took CompactFlash..

And a little bird took me that its highly unlikley that Korg will be releasing stuff like the EMX and ESX anymore, unfortunatly.

BUT we will wait and see.

P.s i hear ya as regards the hard drive,if the ESX had a harddrive, this would decimate a lot of samplers out there.

  • excelente

  • WTF!!!!

    Cool track congratulations!!!

  • I still keep coming back to listen to this toon.

I rekon its the best Electribe video on youtube!!!!! By a long long way

  • Nice work!

  • well fuckin done mate

  • Absolutely fantastic!

  • fkn brilliant

  • a sampler sampled a sampler...

  • What do you think the tubes do for this sonically?

  • the tubes just add a little dirt if you turn them on, they make it aalso louder and distortion, but honestly its more good looking then useful.

  • buy some better ones

  • mm, i like this, minimal house sounding.

  • and i wanna know sth, is this kind of sampler/drum machine need any computer interface?

  • nope. its totally standalone i have one i love it. check out my vids

  • actually how that pads work??

seem it can make improvisation by just moving ur finger up n down, can any body tell? actually im not really familiar with these machines

  • it uses a set scale and hits the notes acordingly on time with the drums.

  • youre really skilled. amazing work. im totally impressed =O

  • really inspired, reminded me of the good old days of techno when it actually had some brains

  • thats so amazing!!! Respect!

  • this amazes me every time. just perfect.

  • classic house! oldskool vibe in

  • Excellent Ghost!

Question..Once you have finished a full tune can the ESX-1 export each track one at a time to a DAW for mixing and adding more tracks etc? Thinking about getting the EMX-1 very soon.

  • nope it cant, but you can jusat solo each track and record it into your daw

  • excellent... very good improvisation on that touch pad!

  • you and denkitribe should to collab.

  • holy shit wow

  • amazing arpie work. wow.

  • SEX

  • You got a recording of that jam...sounds really nice bro.

  • Really amazing! You make it seem so easy... Is it really? =D

  • If you are as talented as he is, it is. Otherwise it's not. :P

  • Wow! And that's all from the ESX-1? That was a great solo.

  • That is really good, nice one.

  • kinda amazing

  • this is fantastic.

  • 5/5 BEAUTIFUL FANTASTIC WORK!!!!

  • ♪└|∵|┐♪└|∵|┘♪┌|∵|┘♪

  • Wow that's impressive how you sampled a youtube video of that little kalimba instrument and made all these sounds.

  • great tune dude! good work with the appregiator!!!

  • wow this is actually pretty cool!!

  • You display good sample editing skills. Great stuff. You can make a whole track with a single sample and a lot of people fail to realise that it's possible.

  • really really dope, loving the deepness

  • im buying one off a dude for 350 euro, cant wait,i gotta week off work and im gonna rock out on the esx for sure!

  • great tune. 5am, LK23.

  • best esx video i've seen on youtube yet, right up there with Harril.

great job and i'd love to hear more.

  • did u make that with the original sample ?

  • this sounds better than all of korgs demos. it actually makes it sound like a viable production method rather than a bleepy bloopy toy.

  • i fucking love this song !!! please give me :)

    i would really appreciate it

    seen this movie a 100 times !

  • HAHA this is a video response?! well, i think it's safe to say that Denkitribe got served. I want one of these.

  • He sampled the Kalimba from Denkitribe. This was sourcing his material, not retaliation.

  • I could listen to this all day, im so relaxed right now

  • I dont post many comments, but that was beautiful nice one!

  • lovely stuff slick boy

  • This track OWNS! This is seriously vinyl worthy and a great advertisment for Korg! Great job, funky as hell!

  • fucking good!

  • Amazing stuff!

  • how in the world did you do that with the arpegiator. mine always sounds very bleepy.

  • oh my god, I love it!

  • that shit is sick cant wait to get stuck in..ordered mine today

  • You are the best arpeggiator player in this world.

  • ghostradioshow and denkitribe dominate the youtube-electribe movement.

  • Amazing!! Ordered mine today....can't wait.

  • great work dude!! luv your style! have you released this song ? If, whats the name of it?

  • doode nice

  • Detroit!

  • quality stuff, and it's wonderful to watch you play with such precision. the video repsonse is quite frankly an embarrassment

  • Great... just the beat of the bass-line sucks

  • This is amazing! Congrats. Sadly, I only have the EM-1, so I don't have the touch screen capability, meaning I can't do any of the decent freestyle stuff you did. Do you know of any way I can do something similar with my model?

  • Its house music.. hip hop beat elements, but looped with no vocals and more of a 'techno' spin.

  • That is awesome man, really well done.

  • Musician's Friend has factory refurbs for 359.28 free S&H! I've got one shipping already!

  • music is music

  • how the fuck can u say this techno its sounds like deep house to me or touching minimal not techno
