I love this song! Makes me teary-eyed once in a while! But it's music for the soul! For weeks now, there's nothing on my car CD but DUST and BRAKES by Royworld! Really awesome stuff!!!
So they've been dropped...they are gaining fans every day...someone else will realize how great they are...maybe bring them to the US ;) Yay RoyWorld!
Quite literally awesome. Bought your album and can honestly say it is the best debut album I have heard in 10 years. Here's to a long and successful career at the top.
I hadn't heard of you till you were recommende to me today.Gotta say you got a good look and sound going on.All the best for the future il look out for you. : )
The music in the choruses is a complete rip-off of Nik Kershaw's "Wouldn't it be Good", even down to the way they accentuate the chords. I hope it's an intentional homage!
Yeah... while the chorus was clearly inspired by Wouldn't It Be Good, it's just a chord progression, no-one owns a progression, I'm sure Nik got it from somewhere! As for the "accenting" of the chords, it's different. If you listen, you'll hear Royworld "push" every change (apart from the first chord of the chorus) a quaver ahead of the bar whereas Nik's version hits every 1st crotchet on the head. Anyway. It's a chooon! Royworld are great. My current favourite British band.
Oh yeah, I agree about chord progressions, don't get me wrong (e.g. U2's "With or without you", Blondie's "Maria" and at least three song's off Tonic's "Head on Straight" album all have the same chord progression, in their relative keys). It's just in this case it is remarkably similar! But you're right, it's still a great example of pop rock writing.
On a different "they got that from somewhere else" note, ever noticed that Royworld's Dust sounds like U2's Beautiful day? Like, in the verse? Or is that just me?
"U2 suck balls" - couldn't agree more... Not sure about their other song, I'm actually in a grungecore band, but we have Radio Two on at work so I hear plenty of pop rock!
"u2 suck balls!" they are one of the best bands in the world, last album won 8 grammy's, they have sold over 170 millions records. and their song beautiful day you refered to has 8 million views unlike this song with 8 thousand. listen to some real music asshole. U2 ROCK!
Wow, you're one upset guy! Look, they do nothing for me on the whole. It's very much a personal taste thing. The Kiss Me Kill Me or whatever tune they did for a Batman movie with Jim Carey years back was cool, but for me, they're over processed, over polished and overated. As for their success, Garth Brooks has sold a shit load of records dude. Doesn't make that cracker a musical genius or anything...! "Real music"... you're a funny guy!
I hear you DreadKey! It is all about opinion - Queens of the Stone Age are my favourite band, and I would call that "real music" as it's innovative, interesting and orginal. U2 are about as innovative as a dead otter.
And with regard to the record sales, "YMCA" by the village people is one of the world's biggest ever selling singles, moreso than any U2 single in fact... Enough said.
Guys we need to start texting and phoning the radio stations to get these guys aired more....
Absolute radio is the only station i know who played Dust...
Lets get a campaign going NOW!!!!!!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
The song is ace. The singing is a bit rubbish.
Royworld should write songs for Coldplay.
audiodead 3 years ago
Write songs for Coldplay???? hahaha The singer couldnt sing this even if he tried...Coldplay is not very versatile....these guys are.
shadesofdown 3 years ago
The croaky bit in the singers voice makes him sound like Jeremy Clarkeson. That is the problem with Royworld.
