  • what the hell mark is in a boxcar racer song. what was the point of that

  • I was so surprised when I heard Mark sing. This really couldve been a Blink song....

  • Ladies and gentleman, Blink-182!

  • I think this song they all actually got together and played if I recall correctly.

  • BEST FUCKIN SONG EVER

  • i dont understand :( is blink or boxcar racer ft mark or plus 44 with tom or ava with travis and mark? this song is perfect anyways

  • @giordanobrunovela It's Boxcar Racer featuring Mark

  • blink-182 - Elevator (feat. David Kennedy and Anthony Calestino)

  • @Le0nSK00 anthony wasn't even on the album...tom played the bass as well.

  • @tobiaspunk Close enough.

  • should i buy this or an ava album on itunes?

  • @Gunsnrosez1987 this is one of the best albums i own.

  • blink 182 is back :) w neighborhoods

  • @gianlryu600 a.k.a. the death of blink 182

  • tom and mark forever and ever..

  • Blink should play this live :)

  • i cant get enuff of this stuff!!!!!!!

  • hahah i .like when you listen to songs like a billion times and you dont know what there about. then its just suddenly hits you. oh this is about a person jumping off a building. and i like how everysong is about one thing (a girl) just in different stages. like he loves her, then she leaves then he kiills himself

  • it's basically a blink song.. lol

  • Underestimated Tom

  • Mark's voice and Tom's are such a perfect match together...

  • Such a great song about a terrible event. Tom and Mark's lyrics just paing such an image in your mind of 9/11. So much emotion and such heavy lyrics. Almost makes me want to cry, not even kidding. Even Travis' simple drum beat just works perfectly.

    Love these three forever <3

  • @PatrickThomas11 that beat is not that simple :))

  • Comment removed

  • Obviously about 9/11

First verse is the POV of the airplane. Or, a building. Cause the first verse says that The concrete's to thin to break my fall.

Second verse is the POV of the "people he counted near the streets below" which is proven by the line "I saw it all go down"

The last verse is.... maybe Osama or USA government, saying that there's nothing to see here, carry on.

They're forcing people to forget all about 9/11

If you're not convinced yet, listen to the airplane sounds @ da last part

  • @BuraWNNAchi actually, almost. its about a jumper from the building. tom sings from the perspective of the jumper and mark sings from the persepective of a viewer on the ground. (:

  • @BuraWNNAchi you don't seem to be really smart but even is about 9/11 or a simple suicide the song make's total sense and is beautyfull ,don't ruin'it with you bad expl

''The last verse is.... maybe Osama or USA government, saying that there's nothing to see here, carry on.'' is about getting over the tragic incident that you assisted...stop watching the news ,they make you dumber.

  • let's forget this all and hit the bong!

  • This pretty much is a blink song. Should just be re-recording for their next album in 20 years.

  • @skullz841 yup i do agree very strongly dude

  • This is a Blink 182 song... Hahahaha.

  • @trollinator27 u be hot pan with yourself

  • @trollinator27 box car racer ft mark hoppus, sorry to ruin your trolling spree

  • @GamingOnCrack Hahahaha trolling? How so?

  • @trollinator27 well first you said this was blink 182 then i noticed your username...

  • wtf.. y is mark in this...? lol

  • Comment removed

  • are you sure this song is about 9/11? im pretty sure its about a guy commiting suicide. "watch the world" is about 9/11.

  • Played this song on repeat.

The riff, the lyrics, it;s very depressing

    They're saying let's forget about 911

    And move on

  • how has this only got 250000 views? totally underated song

  • i checked this song is actually about the jumper in 911 the guy who jumps lol

  • @totokickbutt tons of people jumped on that day. and it wasn't funny asshole

  • @ForeverYoungAaron yh but hes kindof the symbol of it and i checked so whatever you say is bullshit to me lol

  • @totokickbutt was that a sentence? or a complete thought?

  • @totokickbutt ForeverYoungAaron is right. You're a heartless douchebag with horrible grammar.

  • @crazybaseballdude12 yeah so? you have a problem sir?

  • fuck 911 smd

  • The other singer besides Tom sounds just like Mark Hoppis! I thought he wasn't in BCR!?

  • @MrCheese808 it is Mark, I don't think he's technically in Box Car Racer, but he was on this one track...

  • @MrCheese808 He wasn't but he was in this one song... i think Tom just wanted someone else to sing the part of the bystander..

  • This song could be interpreted for 911. contextually it makes sense. But I just think its about a guy jumping off a building. one singer being the victim and the other singer being a bystander.

  • Tom and Mark are just gods.

  • @ImJayyy nope

  • "could have been a blink song". Let's see.. same 2 singers (in this song) and the drummer as blink-182. Go figure that it sounds like it could be.. haha

  • this is basically a blink 182 song ? haha

  • why Box car racer ? There is Tom , Mark & Travis ...so .....this is Blink 182 !

  • @Cyriaque1000 because the guitar was recorded by David Kennedy and bass was recorded by Tom and Anthony Celestino, mark did only the vocal in 1 song.

  • @Cyriaque1000 No...its actually box car racer.

  • It's too bad that Tom pretty much hit a wall lyric/creativity wise after AvA's first album. Boxcar was an interesting thing, it would've been intriguing to see it go on a little longer. Mark is still almost as good as he was when Blink started. That's really the huge redeeming quality of Neighborhoods.

  • y is every body talking about this =[

  • sounds like something that soulda been on the album "Blink 182" aha cuz its darker nd suchh

  • i listen to rap but i also listen to this...some people need to grow up and look for good music.

  • @dmurphy2015 Only two songs deviate from the album’s central storyline, the humorous "My First Punk Song", which pays tribute to early hardcore punk bands that inspired DeLonge, such as Gorilla Biscuits, and "Elevator", which was written in the aftermath of September 11 attacks. Mark Hoppus, the bassist from Blink-182, provided guest vocals on "Elevator"

  • @dmurphy2015 "We wrote this song about 9/11" -Tom DeLonge before beginning the song "Elevator"

  • is It just me or this song could've been a Blink song

  • the other guy who sings sounds like mark a little

  • @CODblink182 because it is Mark lol he was guest vocals.

  • @RealCreativeName haha dam im stupid . thanks for telling me

  • @CODblink182 ahahahah S'all good man, no problem

  • i wish this song was a little longer, Amazing song, so chill

  • "up all night" sounds a lot like boxcar racer .. all good tho!!

  • I love this so much. This probably one of the few 9/11 tributes that impacts me enough to bring tears to my eyes. This is why I love these guys.

  • @JiMZAWiCAMEL This song is about a guy who commits suicide. It is sung by Mark and Tom, with Tom singing from the point of view of the guy who is killing himself and mark singing from the point of view of an onlooker. example toms part "I counted people as I neared the street below,"

marks part "saw it all I saw it all go down,

The shadow grew as he approached the ground,

The sunset stretched across this nighttime scene,

They turned away as he came near the street below"

  • @VANStoDC Actually, it's about a guy jumping from the World Trade Center during 9/11. But you got the rest right

  • @redsox1188 I dont think its about 9/11, when they sing about the setting it doesn't sound like it

  • @VANStoDC It's about somebody who had to make the decision of jumping out of the buildings or go down with it. Hence the first line of the song "The building turned it's back ignored my call"

  • @JiMZAWiCAMEL What? Nah its a parallel meaning for suicide. It makes you think about someone riding an elevator down and someone jumping off of a building. Stuff like "I came near the street below" its a dual meaning of someone about to hit the ground after jumping or someone reaching groundfloor in an elevator. The whole song is like that.

  • @PompousBreadRolls Only two songs deviate from the album’s central storyline, the humorous "My First Punk Song", which pays tribute to early hardcore punk bands that inspired DeLonge, such as Gorilla Biscuits, and "Elevator", which was written in the aftermath of September 11 attacks. Mark Hoppus, the bassist from Blink-182, provided guest vocals on "Elevator"

  • @PompousBreadRolls tom said it was about 911 straight from his freaking mouth

  • isnt that mark singing

  • @maddhattinbass yep

  • If Boxcar Racer carried on i think they would be my favourite out of the Blink/ AvA/ +44 lot.

  • @fisheatingninja yeah, like i said....check out the parenthesis

  • this is nothing like Up All Night besides the fact that tom and travis are playing the instruments (and mark is singing)...GTFO, noobs

  • @stustu009 Mark is singing in this one too, so gtfo

  • @fisheatingninja He said Mark is singing you twat.

  • i just have to listen to this song on 9/11

  • RIP 9-11 victims you will be remembered

  • You all are very misguided every song isnt about blink 182. To think that you people are so self centered with every song ever made thinking its about blink 182.well its not this song is about 9/11. Even tom and mark and travis will say its about 9/11

  • @Respectmusic14

the album is about 9/11 and how the gov is lying...and then some other songs

  • RIP all that died on September 11th, 2001.

  • Elevator = Up All Night

Cat Like Thief = After Midnight

  • @Blaanco similarities = zero

  • Should have taken their own advice... Forget Box Car Racer and the drama that happened, and move on with blink-182.

  • for everyone to understand this song..its not about 9/11..neither is about suicide..it is about tom doing box car racer and using travis in the band as well...this didn't sit well with mark..so basically this song is mark and tom making up and saying there sorry to each other..tom lyrics describe him taking the fall for sneaking around with box car racer..and marks lyrics are him just saying he saw it all happen and there was nothing he could do about it...thats what this song is about

  • @rkerner1437 wow pull that out your ass or what

  • @tablit87 can you please provide us with a link where tom said this was about 9/11 so this whole discussion will end?!

  • Comment removed

  • its blink182 pretty much LOL. but still an amazing song

  • Sorry, but that's Blink-182.

  • i just love tom's voice!

  • say what you will, this is a blink song.

  • wtf is with Mark hoppus, this is Box Car Racer not Blink 182.

  • the violin at the end is awesome !

  • @david511xxx That's not a violin. It's more than likely to be a cello.

  • @tehpwner15 There is violin in this song though

  • @bennynen Mark sings the second verse you fucking moron.

  • Dont you love that this great song is about suicide?

  • Tom, "Hey Mark sorry Travis and I have been away for so long we just needed a break from blink and we actually recorded an album with another band. . . "

Mark, "You fucking asshole why would you do that!?"

Tom, "Im sorry i just had to get some serious songs out there, you wanna be do vocals on one?"

Mark, "Fuck yeah i do! :)"

Travis, oh wait he doesnt speak.

  • boxcar racer is so much better than blink ever was

  • i fucking love Mark

  • This kicks Up All Nights ass...

  • i wasnt expecting mark!

  • This song was written after 9/11. The lyrics are about being in the World Trade Center, going down the elevator, watching the out the window. "Lets forget this all move on" I think that refers to 9/11 aswell.

  • @NarutoUzumaki220

No, this song is about someone who jumped off the top of a building (Tom), and then a witness (Mark) singing about one another as the disaster went down.

  • @SgtDillPickle Oh, shit, I got the wrong info. >.<

  • @SgtDillPickle

Both you and OP are wrong. This song is written about the tension the formation of BCR created between Tom and Mark. Mark felt betrayed because from his view it looked like Tom went behind his back to Travis to make this band. Tom felt bad because he had no ill intentions and only wanted Travis to do drums because he didn't want a session drummer. In every interview about BCR, Tom called it a 'project' not a 'band'.

"Let's forget this all, move on" says enough.

  • @lastplacewin tom says in interviews it is about 9/11

  • @lastplacewin

this song is about people jumping out of the window on the buildings instead of burning to death you dipshit

  • @RRguitaristTC

Where I say they're burning to death? Learn to read before you post you stupid cunt.

  • @lastplacewin

douchebag thats what this song about...not about mark tom or travis

  • @NarutoUzumaki220 its about a kid who contemplates killing himself, your thinking of Watch the world, thats about 9/11

  • @LpxMusic watch the world is about the end of the world...

  • @tablit87 no its not.

"i watch the smoke as is grew darker and blew up through the roof, i watched the feds, saw them panick, as the fire grew..

I saw virginia get rid of langely and their secrets too"

tell me that does not reffer to the 9/11 attacks

and this is about a kid killing himself "the concrete looks to thin to break my fall.. the sunset streched across this nighttime scene"

    9/11 wasnt at night.

    get it?

  • @LpxMusic *PROOF IT IS ABOUT 9-11*

    /watch?v=5R4m1C0CplQ

    Search this

Take TOM'S word, and shut the fuck up.

  • @rockettransam911 nice job presenting yourself in an "intellectual" manner, and responding to my comment two weeks after i posted it.

theres no way someone like you could ever be taken seriously, a song is about how you interpret it. there is for the most part NO set meaning, its different to everyone.

so fuckoff and let me state my opinion, as i have a right to.. cunt lips

  • @LpxMusic lol oh well. you're trying to say it wasn't written about 9/11, Tom says it is. Who am I going to believe? The man who wrote the song, or some random kid on youtube trying to add meaning to a song hat isn't there? Relate it to your life, but don't tell people things that just aren't true.

  • @rockettransam911

This needs to be thumbs up

  • @rogerpenskefan12 haha tell me about it!!

  • @LpxMusic "This song is about the end of the world"-Tom DeLonge as he begins playing Watch the World :p.

  • @rockettransam911 no its about a kid killing himself. the whole album is about one guy and one girl. the album starts out: he loves her, he losses her, he tries to get her back, she says no, he kills himself. basic blink

  • @mquaidwillbeatyouras Tom said it himself. Get what you want out of the song, but I'll take the guy's word.. you know, the guy who wrote it.........

  • @mquaidwillbeatyouras basic blink? you know this isn't blink 182 right?

  • @rockettransam911 well its mark tom and travis, so basically it is.

  • @Flyyyyy16but it isn't.. lol

  • @rockettransam911 it is... LOL

  • @OhMyDelonge kk :P

  • @rockettransam911 INCEPTION....... BBBWOOOOOOWWWWWW...BWOOOWWWWW

  • @Flyyyyy16 bahaha! That literally made me laugh

  • @mquaidwillbeatyouras wrong man its about 9/11 think about it

  • @rockettransam911 this song is about 9/11/2001

  • @sk6er I know, read the last part of my comment

  • @LpxMusic I thought that too, but Tom said Watch the World is about he end of he world.

  • this is the shit

he mixture of there voices` is bettetr than them apart

    wohh below!!

  • The concrete looks too thin to break my fall

  • Comment removed

  • why are their songs so shit, what happened to stuff like touch down boy

  • @jimmyb316 that was a long time ago buddy, things change

  • 13 people need to go fucking listen to rap.

  • @Remedeyz I hate rap... Glad the dislikers get to listen to that. :)

  • @Remedeyz I am a true hip hop fan and I enjoy this song as well.........not sure what you mean.

  • dude this song is amazing! stop commenting about stuff that doesnt matter

  • Shut up and enjoy the music?? :D

  • tom nd travis feat, mark <33

  • Imagine Plus 44 combinate with box car race uff Oh Since there is blink 182

  • I love how mark is in this song <3 they are both so amazing

  • great song, i might need to check out the album

  • isnt this about 9/11?

  • You all are jackasses. The only reason up all night sounds bad is because it was recorder in 2009. After tom was with ava and he was hooked on the painkillers. This song was just a help for a struggling band that ended up becoming angels and airwaves. If you were all true fans of blink you would appreciate anything that they do. I'm from cali and have been following blink since 93. Fuck all the haters. Anything that involves those three is bad ass.

  • this is kinda better than up all night to be honest

  • dam love this song toms playing and singing marks on the bass and singing travis is fucking geting down on the drums so ya its a pretty muck a blink song the side gigs these tree dudes hav done have ealy been good i like up all night hope the album is along the same but my best band to me is ava but then again im old lol

  • I wonder if tom was ever suicidal

  • @StickyInADarkBlueCut Mar was though the lyrics "I traced the cord back to the wall

No wonder it was never plugged in at all " was when mark was going to commit suicide by placing his amp in water and be electricuted whilst playing bass.

  • @bushkill1235 haha, no shit? mark has a song about suiicide too... adams song

  • @StickyInADarkBlueCut no i was about mark being homesick when he was on tour and how he felt when he got home hence the lyric "the tour was over we survived"

  • @bushkill1235 It's not about Mark commiting suicide you dumb fuck, if you knew anything about Blink you would know what that song was about

  • @bushkill1235 actually when tom and mark were practicing in a garage and toms amp cord was in water and they joked about it "not being plugged in at all"

  • i feel like they forgot to finish the song

  • @dahoboman Well it's about a person jumping off of a building (Tom) and a spectator who was watching on the street (Mark) and once the jumper dies, and the spectator gives a description of what happened, there's really nothing to sing about :P.

  • a lot of people compare this to up all night... i actually think this is better! no weird effects or hard rock riff. up all night isn't terrible though

  • Because the style of the song is similar to up all night when they sing back and forth, thats why I think it sounds like it.
