I was at university in Cape Town, South Africa, when I heard this song for the first time, and since then,I am hooked to the Temps.I,ll be turning 50 this year, and my eyes still wells up,when I hear this song. At my wedding in 1996,my wife and I opened the dance floor with Soul to Soul. Man, these guys can sing! I saw them twice here in Cape Town some years ago, when they were here with teh Manhattans. Knew David a while toward the end. A good guy. Very in love with young and beautiful wife, Kimberly. Only Motown voice to sing at Gordy's marriage to Grace. He would see me at the office and call my name...could not hear it, too low, only felt it....like elephant-speak. On the road constantly. It wore him out. Liked him a lot.

Let's not compare who was better than the other. Many are my favorites and I appreciate them more each day that passes. Ruffin, Kendricks, Williams, (Paul & Otis) Franklin, Edwards, Streit, Tyson, Woodson, etc have set the standard for us to appreciate their music,

They were and always will be a class act.

@mistermarcusgmail I attended David Ruffin's funeral in 1991, but I had been around him enough when he was living to know that man in this video is not even close to being David Ruffin., Also, Motown Records would have never allowed David Ruffin to appear in a video the company produced in 1987 , the year this video came out! Yes that is Fred "Rerun" Barry with the girl. May he also RIP.
