where can i get the elastic bands to put the dread falls on so they can go into the hair?

@karbonnreaper I just use braided or woven elastic that's used in clothing. You can buy it from dollar variety stores or material shops.

@HolyShadow180 I would have recommended you purchase the hair from a dedicated online store rather than Amazon because you may not get what you're supposed to get. Check out my video on different braiding fibres to see why.

@HolyShadow180 Monofibre should be ok for dreads, but you may have problems backcombing it because of how silky it is.

Dread falls are only good if you have long hair that you can tie up. Single falls look better on guys too.

Well, most of the guys I've made dreads for have had them installed, with the exception of one, who has falls.

Frankly, they look best in a single ponytail on a guy, but some know how to utilize styling and put them on seperate buns (yes, pigtails lol). It's the same method as a girl would use, but with clever placement of the dreads. :)

Your transitionals sure do look like stripped dreads... Transitionals as I know them, are one color and slowly another colour comes out and twists with the original slowly going into all the 2nd colour.

hi. i have thick/alot of hair but i dont want alot of dreads (bc they r so heavy) How many single ended dreads shud i make to add in my hair?

I have installed +80 into quite thick hair, but the dreads themselves were quite thick too. Any thinner, and you're looking at +90.

They're not as heavy as you think, maybe for the first two or three days, but there after, it's like you've had them forever.

What do people like better? Double ended dreads or single. The double-ended ones look fuller... but I can't figure out how turn them into falls. (I have long hair.) Anyway I can figure that out myself prolly. I just wondered what ppl like better. Thanks ^-^b

I could've sworn I replied to this.

DEs turn into falls by taking the middle of the dread and rubber banding it to create a loop. Slide elastic through the loop then, voila, falls.

I have thin hair myself and can't get that many dreads in. If you don't put enough in, of course it'll look poorly done, but if you put too many in, it'll kill your scalp. The key is balance. Also triangle sectioning can make for more dreads in fine hair especially.

I can get around 48 DE's into my hair if i leave my bangs out and probably around 60 SE's. I also have an undercut o.0

So try around 50-60 if your hair is fine.

Try making some solid dreads first to practise with and then go onto the more trickier styles ^_^

I wanted your opinion on something...

Rather than threading the one bunch of hair through one hole...do you think it would work to split that same bunch into a few smaller sections and pulling them through in a circular pattern?

I don't really get what you're saying, but do you mean thread the hair through in a few smaller sections rather than one large section with one piece of hair, that was the method described in I Kick Shins' version that I posted the link to.

Basically it comes down to trial and error. If you get enough practise, you don't get lumps.
