@HolyShadow180 I would have recommended you purchase the hair from a dedicated online store rather than Amazon because you may not get what you're supposed to get. Check out my video on different braiding fibres to see why.
You can find Kanekalon at the following sites: (Can't type links, so google them). USA Cypherlox I Kick Shins Doctored Locks UK Buyhair Afrocare EU Plastikhaar DreadViolet I used to sell dreads, but stopped recently due to health problems.
Well, most of the guys I've made dreads for have had them installed, with the exception of one, who has falls.
Frankly, they look best in a single ponytail on a guy, but some know how to utilize styling and put them on seperate buns (yes, pigtails lol). It's the same method as a girl would use, but with clever placement of the dreads. :)
Your transitionals sure do look like stripped dreads... Transitionals as I know them, are one color and slowly another colour comes out and twists with the original slowly going into all the 2nd colour.
What do people like better? Double ended dreads or single. The double-ended ones look fuller... but I can't figure out how turn them into falls. (I have long hair.) Anyway I can figure that out myself prolly. I just wondered what ppl like better. Thanks ^-^b
I have thin hair myself and can't get that many dreads in. If you don't put enough in, of course it'll look poorly done, but if you put too many in, it'll kill your scalp. The key is balance. Also triangle sectioning can make for more dreads in fine hair especially.
I can get around 48 DE's into my hair if i leave my bangs out and probably around 60 SE's. I also have an undercut o.0
i knew how to get to the ordering thingo, but i couldn't figure out how to add on more packs of hair (i want to buy a couple) and lol, i just figured it out! :D
Add something randomly to the checkout, because she doesn't have a direct link to it, then just select 0 of that item you don't want, press recalculate total. Yeah, it's confusing rofl.
Rather than threading the one bunch of hair through one hole...do you think it would work to split that same bunch into a few smaller sections and pulling them through in a circular pattern?
\|/ O
/|\ <--like this.
Or do you think it might cause more lumps than less :]
I don't really get what you're saying, but do you mean thread the hair through in a few smaller sections rather than one large section with one piece of hair, that was the method described in I Kick Shins' version that I posted the link to.
Basically it comes down to trial and error. If you get enough practise, you don't get lumps.
@DreadBabyxIdol Dreads, no, other stuff, conditionally.

where can i get the elastic bands to put the dread falls on so they can go into the hair?
karbonnreaper 8 months ago in playlist Synthetic Dread Tutorials by Rivet Licker
@karbonnreaper I just use braided or woven elastic that's used in clothing. You can buy it from dollar variety stores or material shops.

@DagGirl ok thank you :)

HolyShadow180 1 year ago
@HolyShadow180 Install. I've done fake dreads for 3 guys (one wearing dread falls and two with mohawk installs). Braid them in :)

HolyShadow180 1 year ago
@HolyShadow180 Oh, Stargazer monofibre eh? Surprised you picked it up cheap?
DagGirl 1 year ago
@DagGirl So hoping that good make or somthing? =P
I think you might have guessed but I know NOTHING about hair styles =D I have still no idea how I am going to have it I am thinking Dreaded Fall?
HolyShadow180 1 year ago
@HolyShadow180 Monofibre should be ok for dreads, but you may have problems backcombing it because of how silky it is.
Dread falls are only good if you have long hair that you can tie up. Single falls look better on guys too.

I don't really get it ):
holeinmysox1212 2 years ago
You should probably start with (and practise) the backcombing 101 tutorial before you start on complex projects like transitionals.

hi. i have thick/alot of hair but i dont want alot of dreads (bc they r so heavy) How many single ended dreads shud i make to add in my hair?
adylambert 2 years ago
I have installed +80 into quite thick hair, but the dreads themselves were quite thick too. Any thinner, and you're looking at +90.
They're not as heavy as you think, maybe for the first two or three days, but there after, it's like you've had them forever.

I could've sworn I replied to this.
DEs turn into falls by taking the middle of the dread and rubber banding it to create a loop. Slide elastic through the loop then, voila, falls.
DagGirl 2 years ago
Thank you, now I feel more confidant to make DEs. LOL though you should have seen the Singles I made... what a tragedy those turned out to be.
Zullala 2 years ago
My DEs turn out a tragedy lol. :P

do these look silly if you have very thin hair?

Try making some solid dreads first to practise with and then go onto the more trickier styles ^_^

do you purchase the synthetic hair from cypherlox by any chance?

Yes, I have been purchasing from her for the past year.
DagGirl 3 years ago
i was just wondering how you bulk buy hair or whatever..i dropped her an email but i'm feeling way too impatient to wait for an answer :P
sorry if i sound like a retard :/
vamplien 3 years ago
Go to her website, enter, mouse over loxshop and select "braiding hair" or "bulk hair", whatever she has it under, she always changes it lol.
You want to purchase the "KK jumbo braid".

Trans are really tricky, it's just a matter of getting the right amount of hair.
