I played wow since beta so listen me out and atop arguing. Pre tbc was very fun, its extremely grind intensive. 5 mans bak then were bout as hard as 25 mans right now. Why? Due to the originality of fights and ideas. If wotlk was the first wow, no1 would qq bout pre tb being the best. Pre tbc was extremely original and there was no strat videos, or dbm, so the guild had to figure it all out and they felt a big sence of accomplishment

vanilla had a lot more of a grind everything back then took ages to do, for example 900g for an epic mount was expensive nowadays gold is just so much easier to acquire you have dailies to do.

Raids too have changed a lot back then pretty much every single raid boss was immune to taunt you had to manage aggro back then, gear also wasn't that easy to obtain like it is today with badges, you just had to keep farming that boss till you had enough gear like the onyxia scale cloak.

real reason vanilla was hard: in any given raid you can expect maybe 10 good players and the rest idiots. in vanilla you had 40 man raids, that's 10 good people and 30 seat fillers. nowadays you got 10 good and 15 seat fillers. the fights aren't getting easier. all blizzard is really doing is lightening the load on the good players backs by giving them less people to carry. in vanilla you had ooc rezzers (people who literally did nothing but stay out of combat and rez) how's that harder?

@zsterpin yea people need to realise that vanilla is dead and gone, it's not coming back. People say vanilla was hard compared to bc or wotlk but the truth is it wasn't. It just took more organization and commitment. Not everybody has the time to raid 8 hours a day (which if you wanted to see vanilla naxx you pretty much had to) so blizzard simply made it easier to get gear and raid so people that do stuff besides play wow can get somewhere in the game instead of being stuck in ubrs/strat/etc.

Raiding was easier in vanilla WoW. Boss fights were a pushover until AQ40 and Naxxramas, and even then, were easy. Just ab out every fight in MC and BWL are tank and spank except for a few bosses here and there. They never started getting complicated until AQ40, and Naxx. Then in TBC and WOTLK it got a little more complicated.

Only hard instance in the Xpacks was Suunwell, and even then some of the fights were so easy to figure out.

What made these instanaces so hard, was Not only were they just if not more complex, But you have to organize and keep 39 other people under control.

guilds can barely do 25 mans.. i doubt they can handle leading 40 mans. Organizing, Setting up, and Making sure everyone is doing there job and knows and understands the fight.

Some bosses have a little more complexity, Putricide is hard, yes. But the thing is the Damage/Heals/Health people out put these days is so reiduclous..

The raid and the boss are pretty much evened out.

trying raiding back when bosses had twice as much of a advantage of the 40 man raids.

@soilwork121 the only real differences between vanilla and bc/wotlk is healing was harder due to lack of regen (hence ooc rezzers) dps was just weaker all together and only warriors could tank. and of course raid size. but if you think a severe lack of class/spec options, single button rotation spams, and having to fight 39 other ppl for gear is better than what the game has become then you should just find a new game. it's called evolution, deal with it or /wrists.
