Id like to choke the shit out of Michelle after all we did to save her war torn country comes over here and talks SHIT?? She should be deported and sent back to Viet Nam to clean toilets and scrub floors and pole dance for fat retired drunk service men If I ever saw her walking down the street I would bitch slap her into the stone age !! Go back to Viet Nam you stinking slut !!
Maxine Waters? really that is so laughable she doesn't have a clue as to foreign policy. She should stick to the black domestic issues that she so enjoys talking about.
LiberalViewer - You are aware that the multinational corporations influence the U.S. government in regards to where and why the troops are sent? You do realize that keeping a foreign city, country - undermined, is what delivers cheaper goods, oil, products, to America?
You do understand that?
Because your narrative tone in your video presentations and lack of going to the source of WHY are U.S. troops there, would suggest that your still trying to figure out whom is responsible.
its probably just my younger age but shoots who cares. Afghanistan is a shithole. Initiated by the invaders over decades, just because of some 20th century political indifferences accountable to the dozen of inefficient U.S. presidents over deccades.
Slowly, people ARE starting to realize what Fox and other media outlets are all about... It's time for the News to be News again. 3 part solution: 1. Every channel must provide a 1 hour News program WITHOUT COMMERCIALS. 2. News programs should not be rated by any Ratings system. 3. All News Channels live by the same rules, but are "Pay TV" for revenues as opposed to advertising.
fuck the entire discussion, America as a country should be treated as a war criminal due to america's actions in both iraq and Afghanistan, seeing as they attacked a country to eliminate a group of people in it.
i dont care who invades my counrty for whatever reason, i will fight the invaders !
and if it is america, i will treat its soldier with the same respect they have for "foreign lives" ; none whatsoever
However I have. So speaking from experience you have no idea what your talking about. I work with many Afghans from a business level to a personal level. I have made many friends with the Afghans. Security forces, translators, families in our districts. I've had tea with these people. We've had cookouts. And I would willingly fight and give time, limb, and life for them.
We supported the Mujahideen. Factions of the Mujahideen have been fighting the Taliban since they took power. These factions of the Northern Alliance have been helping us since 2001 in Afghanistan and are now the Afghan Security Forces.
@mavishill That Asians being smart thing is such a stereotype. I've rarely ever run into an Asian, Americanized or not, with above average intelligence and many of them are dumb as a fucking brick.
3:25 HOLY SHIT! Obama couldnt have been more right even if Jesus came down from his giant pillow in the sky and said "The negro is right. Listen to him."
Everytime I see the name Michelle Malkin underneath it I always see the captions "What a bitch".......does anyone else see it or should I get that checked by a doctor?
Urghh. cant you picture that melted face without that paint. That would scare me at 7am. She talks about buyers remorse a lot. I think she knows buyers remorse. She saw it in the face of every guy that woke up the next morning and looked at her.
Shoot, the troop surge in Iraq EXEMPLIFIED the lies of the Bush admin that Iraq would be a pushover, that is would cost less than $50 billion, that we would not have to occupy it for years, etc.
It was a stupid war executed by stupid policy makers.
I think we missed a huge opportunity to set up a functioning government immediately after the taliban and al qaeda had been ousted from Kabul and Kandahar. It is going to be a million times more difficult to set up any kind of self-functioning government now, and instead it appears that we are just looking for a way out which will likely involve a deal with some segments of the Taliban leadership. We have let the millions of Afghans who returned from exile b/c of our presence down completely
@MrNaryal Go ahead. strap a bomb on and come on in. Maybe you could walk into a school or a shop area and try and take some innocents with you. That would please Osama. Better yet, just leave a note and blow yourself up and leave us alone. In the meantime, tell us how the world is made better by the likes of you. Go ahead. The Muslims have bigger problems with people like you than the Jews.
@MrNaryal You and Pah-kee-ston are pathetic. You and your Jihadist buds that believe all non-believers in the world should die if they don't submit to you. Keep stoning your women. Don't let them have careers or drive cars. Keep killing each other during "Holy celebrations." Keep believing that, if only all the world's Jews were killed, your Muslim nations would finally develop decent, productive societies. Until the good Muslim people rise up and take control, ignorance and mayhem reigns.
Michelle, you never learn do you. Joe Biden has every right in the world to beat his fist on a table, desk, chair, he's vice pres. Wise up stupid. You could have easily gotten yourself killed at the DNC. You of all people should never let your BIG mouth get your scrawny ass into something your BIG feet can't get you out of. People do not like liars, which you are. In your hunger for a camera pointing at you, you use no common sense at all. The world is right. You're a lying egomaniac. STFU!
WTF!!!???!!! They Play soccer with human heads? Are you f&$#king serious? f&$%*ken americans were the ones who decided to invade Afghanistan after Soviet Union lost and US troops were the ones killing all of the innocent people there who just try to protect their homes and now they're saying that Afghans are bad and we americans are good? R U F&$^KEN SERIOUS F&%*#K AMERICAN GOVERNMENT!!!!!
Sorry Michelle, no matter how hard you try, you'll never be a blond hair blue eyed white babe.. Just not gonna happen. You're a gook, so just go with that.
Michelle Malkin recently spoke at a University in my hometown. I was seated to her left and slightly behind her. I gotta say...she's got one of the sweetest asses I have ever seen in my life.
The 2 invasions of Afghanistan & Iraq are fundamentally immoral and unlawful. NO troops or mercenaries ought to be in the Middle East, at all.
Michelle is pretty with a sweet maiden name that rolls off the tongue, Maglalang. Beyond that, she says what she has to say for her corporation paycheck
I have always thought of Michelle Malkin as a female Sean Hannity. I can remember her saying Ron Paul supporters will likely cause blood shed if they don't win simply because Ron Paul's slogan ad was "A Ron Paul revolution." She's basically another spewing moron in the media. It's not the liberals, it's not the conservatives, all of them are objective and annoying as hell.
If I was rich I would create a channel like Russia TV. You might not like the Russians but their world view is right on.
@davitodude Yeah, your and you Stalinist buds in Russia have a great world view. Let the communists control every aspect of life. Try to destroy every person who stands in your way especially any media outlet that doesn't parrot your propaganda. Just crawl back under you rock and leave the freedom-loving people alone. Have fun dealing with the Chechens and the other Jihadists. They would cut off your head if they could. And Putin's.
I don't think I made it very clear what Russia tv is... Not that you care, in your mind the news station is limited under a communist government, which is not true. The channel is based in Russia, but in fact is a global multilingual television news network.
You should really check on the substance of something before you rant on so stupidly.
BTW - I'm American born, have my own business and am a Libertarian, which is like a socially liberal republican 40 years ago. Stop watching the news so much.
These wars are a phony,its all about the oils and resources in these countries, america or the west do not care about the afghan people nor about installing a proper afghan convert, so they just install former warlords and puppets like karzai to make the country more unstable, so they can take more and more oil while fighting the taliban and al qaeda
@batshitcrazy007 The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Also, the poppy crop has been facilitated by these guys since before the war, so it's wise to keep them floating. Unless you want the world's analgesic market to run through Turkey.
Remember that they are called warlords because they were armed to the teeth to keep the Taliban off their collective lawns.
In conclusion, I don't believe we have any interests in Afghanistan other than to see them rise above ancient tribal despotism.
@MultiUniv3rsal "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." "In conclusion, I don't believe we have any interests in Afghanistan other than to see them rise above ancient tribal despotism."
Well according to the reporter in the video your "friends" are not doing what they are supposed to do if our aim is to bring about democracy in their society. And we went there because our interest is to put our puppet there incharge, so american public can feel safe here and we have control of the region.
@MultiUniv3rsal "Also, the poppy crop has been facilitated by these guys since before the war, so it's wise to keep them floating. Unless you want the world's analgesic market to run through Turkey."
We sell shit load of weapons through out the world.For example we sell our weapons to both pakistan and india exploiting the situation of arms race between them. What do you have to say about that?
@batshitcrazy007 Selling 2 countries arms when you're a major manufacturer and have normal relations with both isn't immoral. The fact that those 2 countries have shitty relations doesn't by nature force us to choose sides.
If you had mentioned under the table arms deals during the Iran-Iraq war you would've had at least something to scorn.
@batshitcrazy007 No, that's a false equivalence. But then again if this were the 19th century, who knows what we'd think? That would rely entirely on how we were educated.
@MultiUniv3rsal "But then again if this were the 19th century, who knows what we'd think? That would rely entirely on how we were educated."
Actually you supported what I was trying to say. Yes it depends on how we are educated. These are times when patriotism is glorified by the goverments, news channels like foxnews etc., and so it is easy to overlook the wrongdoings of the goverments and that's why it was ok for you with the US selling weapons to both India and pakistan who hate each other
Bill Maher is just a RACIST JEW , " Play soccer with heads " "Not ready for Democracy " When it's the U.S. that installs puppet leaders/drug lords and occupy their country. It's rigged for compliance of U.S. Foreign policy . RIGGED for Compliance of U.S. foreign policy and the ONLY ones willing are DRUG LORDS ,who are payed off and allowed to deal
Zionist Maher is either ignorant or just so anti-Muslims that he cant admit , the U.S. is there for BASES - Minerals- To strategically surround IRAN
All the Democrats and Congress already passed the resolution to remove Saddam Hussein before Bush came to Presidency.The Democrats are real idiots,and their liberal medias played a fool on the minds of Americans.
No one should ever listen to Malkin on any subject ever. She never knew anything and never will. it is all about hate and vitriol. She is simply disgusting. A man actually married her. i just threw up in my mouth. Very difficult to get outta what Bush/Cheney set up. they destroyed the world for everybody.
Talk to the Taliban. its the only way, former General Stanley Machrystal has admitted that he Taliban can sustain its number indefinitely and can have a permanent presence in 70-80% of the nation....
remember the Taliban have time and again tried to talk with American to solve the issue of war, but have always ended up talking to Karzai, who can't deliver on his promises because the American don't want to talk to the Taliban, which i think is a grave mistake....
Everyday,Michelle Malkin wakes up and prays that when she looks in the mirror she will see blue eyes,white skin,thin nose,and most of all...blond hair. We,all know her type...
@knowallcity what makes you say that?not all people want to be white in fact alot of white people dont want to be white just look how much money is spent on tanning is it cause they like their pasty vein out white skin? or cause they want to be nice and brown?see my point also whites are considered the most evil race in the world remember it was whites that went to the asian african etc nations and brought their olive branch of war death etc i rather have an asian chick over a white 1 anyday
@useit90 You must have a religous faith to be freemason. Never heard of sundance, however; with regards to sun worship, the origin is in Egyptian book of the dead (which many of the gospels had taken stories from) of Horus and Set. Check the library for the book. Its focus is on how to treat the dead and their journey into the afterlife. you will learn of many other "Christ Like" individuals, but about 600 years before the bible was written. seek knowledge my friend...
actually i was impressed by Americans and was kind of "scared" of them , but american civilization seems weak and stupid .
working for Freemasons and considering them as gods and calling them "fathers of our nation" , i hope the Freemasons take control of everyone who is not Muslim ...because that will be it .
I think it's simple: it's hardly worth it! The terrain is terrible, the nature is unforgiving, the local people are used to suffering and destitution, so in order to win you have to endure more than they are used, ready and willing to. And when you draw the line - the price is too high! Even in return for their strategic location, etc.
Everybody can occupy the land, but can't beat the people there: they aren't an army, at one point they fight you, then they suddenly "dissolve"...
omg what are these guys talking about that afghanistan is not ready for freedom? all bullshit, look at the history of afghanistan they were never people who would fight , they were a happy and free country the propeganda that russia attacked and destroyed everything then america sent taliban (american pakistani agents in muslim shapes) and then blew the twin towers up which was a inside job toi find a reason to attack these muslim countries like iraq and afghaistan.
Wow a Filipino Nazi. What a self righteous piece of shit. Obviously she was told she was wonderful all her life and she believed it or she just needs to show off her amazing English language skills to make up for looking like a shoe factory worker.
@20324758 I totally agree with you, the American presence there is not welcomed by any Muslim in the world let alone Afghan. They always find bad intensions for the American and western deeds. If am the American president first I would do is to withdraw from Afghanistan and Iraq.
It really is obvious form history that Afghanistan was conquered many times. You're perfectly right.
However, was there ANYBODY who was able to HOLD it?
As Victor Suvorov puts it, it's very easy to do; holding it and exiting from it is the real challenge; and so far I think no one has managed to hold Afghanistan.
It is impossible to "take care" of Afganistan as the people living in the countryside (not in Kabul in other words..) have none or very little intrest in any sort of goverment run system. They have their own law in every village, and it has been like that since forever.. Shit hit the fan big time when foreign people started to push in and tell them how things are supposed to be run. Of course I hope that the situation gets better or they even get a working goverment, but I doubt it.
lol y evry 1 thinks afghans r wrth more than nickle...wht makes u thnk any 1 wants 2 take afghan..every1 know that shit cntry with diaper heads is no more useful than toiletbowl...only cntry in the world thats breeds lowest humankind who wants spread poison in world by growing opium, terrorist every1 goes there to curb the spread of these vermins then get out. if these action make people thinkthat afghan is strong we let them but v go back kill some more n history repeats
well yeah Iraq surge is wrong! we should not send more troops to a country that had no fault in the bombing of our country and well Afghanistan is where we needed to go big time since the beginning and Obama said we are going to the real country we needed to attack since the beginning...
I think we need to stop policing the world... Screw Israel. Screw Pakistan, Screw Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan.
Its a NEVER ENDING FIGHT. Its time to vote someone into office that isn't a warmonger. Our actions overseas in the past ALWAYS bite us on the ass later on.
Ever wonder why "terrorists" don't attack China? What about Canada? Mexico?
Oh yea... They don't try to control the world through force under the pretense of "DEMOCRACY is AWESOME"
@TheMango121 lol you dont have any idea what is at stake for us and our huge economy .thats means what for us who live in US of A. if u live in USofA then you should get out n live mexico or canada. coz I love what my has to offer to me and what it has to do to achieve... keep in mind nobody is perfect ... but atleast some try and most dont
Wow!!! Not even in office yet and he's already lying (McCain as well). Al Qaeda left Afghanistan years ago the US has been fighting shadows war with them since at least 2004. Washington has no idea whats its doing!!!
1. Freedom and Democracy are NOT one and the same!
2. USA should stop trying to impose "democracy" wherever they decide! It just isn't a universal social cure! Believe it or not, it also isn't a universal value!
I really dont think democracy is what the us had in mind when it invaded .
As in nicaragua,palestine,chile cuba when the u.s. invades or plots coups it has nothing to do with the arrival of democracy .Self interest drives u.s. foreign policy
I hear you - and I think I know what you mean, but I do believe it is "democracy" what they are there for - a "US-style democracy", where incredibly rich people remain behind the scene and let common people and politicians play democracy, while actually little if anything depends on the will of the people.
it's like, "You chose you government, but it has to be some of these people - and we'll tell them what to do"-democracy.
@arthurdonachy you DO realize that Australia has fought in nearly every battle along side the US right? Funny how you tend to leave your own country out of the pathetic list you put....as I said self interest is the drive FOR ALL foreign policy. Lets not pretend ok.
A smart guy like you should be able to google up how many countries the u.s. has intervened in if my pathetic list is too wee.The u.s. also is believed by many here to have manipulated the downfall of labour p.m. whitlam in 75.
Countries are not football teams; When a ruling party here has conspired with the criminals in washington to pillage I have taken to the streets and protested.
Perhaps you can explain F.P to your presidents who seem to believe they are spreading goodwil
@arthurdonachy My commenting is not to diminish the list of countries the US where the US is involved, but only to get you to acknowledge the many many other s. Now you want to add conspiracy theories while still not acknowledging your own countries involvement.
"Perhaps you can explain F.P to your presidents who seem to believe they are spreading goodwil"...and perhaps you can do the same with your leaders who are on the same page as mine 90% of the time.
Actually I get the impression that you are what is known in this country as a "dead cunt" -that is a person who argues for arguements sake.These peple are to be avoided as their hubris outweighs any countering position.
@arthurdonachy So you have no legitimate response to what ive been saying then? And instead resort to childish name calling, figures. Grow up you angry little person and stop hating people for the sake of hating people.
@grozde...I will take your comment one step further... I argue that teh powers that be could give a warm squirt of piss for democracy...they wrap the democarcy cloak around any type of foreign intervention to stooge the american public into agreeing with them... "How can you be against [GASSSSSSPPPPP!!!!] DEMOCARCY?" Mission Accomplished indeed!
(And to your question: I'd say that Japan is a great example of "life without democracy", actually ;-) And I really don't see WHY "every country should have Democracy"...)
my reply to grozde was sent because I thought though his heart was in the right place his belief that the spread of democracy was us ambition.He has since clarified his post;however I have this gnawing conviction that if an arab farts in gaza,hilary will know why
@grozde First off, you can google democracy. Second, Japan have democracy. Yes, they still have an Emperor but he has no politcal power at all. Its the same in Denmark. We still have a king and a queen, and they can still veto something - But the second they do they WILL get thrown away.
And every country need a democracy to make sure that some crazy dude doesn't feel like threatening everybody else with nukes or what ever weapon.
:-)) I was asking about YOUR DEFINITION of "democracy! Do you have one?
And no, this isn't a democracy in Japan (not because of the Emperor). The parliament and even the government there operate in completely different manner! And for the last 50-60 years they have the same ruling party... ;-)
And the only country that has USED nukes are the DEMOCRATIC USA!!! ;-) and lately, they've started another two unnecessary wars. How did the "democracy" stop GW from doing it? It's just a con!
@grozde they haven't even achieved this and if certain ppl argue which they will, "we have"then why have all the social issues we have? They always falsely advocate democracy will set you free and its a given you will be liberated...my ass!
@grozde Stop cutting the clitoris's off your little girls and promoting a religion that allows for pedophiles to have sex with 8 year old girls as you worship a rock in Mecca that just sits there. Allow women in Saudi Arabia to drive cars and to divorce their abusive husbands without punishment. Allow titty bars to flourish in Tehran because they have the most beautiful women in the world. Allow Catholic churches to exist on your soil. Otherwise... shut up we have the bomb and you don't.
It's become somewhat of a mantra among pro-Afghani warmongerers like myself to highlight the humanitarian aspects of the regime change; but that's purely because the reason for doing so is so strong. Are you even aware that Iran came close to invading Afghanistan in 1991 purely because the Talebans rule was *so* brutal, callous and horrid. It got to the point where they were kidnapping and murdering unveiled woman and unbearded men.
Are you even aware what's going on in the big part of Africa? It makes Taliban look like the Army of Salvation!! And yet we don't see USA "freeing" the people there!
Are you aware how many bloody dictators are installed and supported by the USA even now?!!
PLEASE, NEVER try the "humanitarian" argument again! It insults ours and yours intelligence!
If so, the EIJ (and Bin Laden) were expunged from Sudan in 1996 and told never to return after public opinion quickly swayed away from their cause, largely due to the continued attempts on President Mubarak's life, as well as various other myriad factors.
However..ever since Sudan employed Sharia; they were doomed. From that date the NCP has of course been their ruling (and only) party and has continually demployed guerillas worldwide.
I mean this is a semi-respectful way, but you seem to know utterly nothing about what you're talking about sir.
If you remember, a few years ago Iran was quite literally *right* about to Invade Afghanistan to overthrow the Taleban rule, simply because of the sheer *brutality* of their regime, men were being lifted off the streets and being executed for not having beards, women for not wearing the Hajibs, little girls had acid thrown in their faces for trying to walk to school...
The fact that you can act so condescending and cocky towards me for employing a humanitarian argument, is simply galling. You obviously know nothing about the struggle Afghanistan were going through before we got there. Had Bill Clinton and his administration not stopped the Iranian troops from crossing the borders to Afghanistan (Their tanks and troops were already there) the war would have took a *very* different turn.
As for these bloody dictators, I can think of a few small events that involve a couple of politicians..but as for actually putting dictators into office, I cannot think of a single time the coalition has done that..
By dictator I only assume you meant to say Ayotollah, Supreme Leader or President. Can you name any of these dictators for me?
You can google 'friendly dictators'... It's a start.
As for the humanitarian motive: I told you who to address it to!!!
We saw you "liberating" Kososvo (another rotten crime in the name of "democracy' and "freedom"), bombing entire country under the pretext of chasing a single guy...
But somehow we don't see you pacifying Congo!
Again: PLEASE, do not try this anymore! Unless you'd be happy to accept a claim that the 9-11 was an attempt to liberate the suppressed USA people!
Your comment certainly gave a swift boot to both logic and reason..
I'm going to ignore your comment on 9/11, for various reasons that I shan't go into with this character limit.
All you did was blatantly differ my question and rant at me..I want YOU to give me SPECIFIC examples of corrupted Supreme Leaders, Ayatollahs or Presidents that the coalition has installed into Afghanistan and Iraq, not send me to some website that doesn't even bother with citations.
i never said that USA has installed corrupted leaders in Iraq or Afghanistan! (Although you might want to look into the biography of the Afghani president and S. Hussein...)
The "logic" is simple: if USA installs dictators in some countries, the "counter-dictatorship motive" doesn't fly!
The way you find the 9-11 example absurd and stupid (and it IS!), is the same way sane people see your "humanitarian" excuse.
Well, I'm afraid I must correct you and point out what you're saying is flatout illogical and unacheivable. Simply pointing out that the Coalition forces aren't topping every dictator in the world is well..silly to be frank. It's both militarily unachievable and undesirable. Another of the reasons we are their in Afghanistan is the deny Al-Quada the safe haven from which they planned 9/11.
You DON'T have to resolve ANY humanitarian crisis - you DON'T owe it to anyone!
HOWEVER, if you install dictators and you neglect ENORMOUS humanitarian tragedies, you simply cannot use the "humanism" justification when you BOMB A COUNTRY!!!
If you really believe there was no human rights crisis, before we got there; then you needn't say anymore; as it makes it obvious you know nothing of how brutal the Taleban's rule was, please tell why...why do YOU think Iran went as far as their borders to invade and destroy the Taleban? I'm amazed you can be so selfish and uncaring about it..for us to leave the Iraqis and Afghani citizens now would be traitorous and disgusting, we know what'll happen if we leave now.
I NEVER SAID THERE WASN'T! I'm just saying that 1. you made it worse - at least in Iraq; 2. it wasn't the cause to go there, because USA (as any other country) is neglecting much BIGGER crisis and sometimes even provoking them.
Please stop making up strawmen and address my arguments.
Again, I'm sorry that my argument is getting so pleonastic..but you REALLY don't seem to know *anything* about the wars themselves; or their impacts.
I'm sorry, but that's just the impression I'm getting off you. I have repeatedly addressed your arguments and I fail to see where I deployed a straw man..other than pointing out that you're evidently talking out of your ass sir.
I will however concede, in anamolous circumstances the intervention *did* make the insurgency worse (See; al ghraib) which merely spawned more terrorists. Or for example, interning terrorist suspects in Camp Delta; circumstaces like these do only make the problem worse. But as for actually finding and fighting the root causes of this horrid extremeist strain of thought within Wahhabist Islam, we have acheived a great many successes.
However; it's not just me you're disagreeing with here..
The whole world takes this threat seriously and you seem to be under the impression (Going by the fact you've only referred to US forces) that you aren't even aware that 47 other countries; along with the 131,000 ISAF forces are ALSO fighting over there. Either YOU are wrong or else one quarter of all the countries worldwide are wrong. Which do you think is more likely?
As for 'Increase of troops' (AGAIN it looks a LOT like you don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about...) there are only 50,000 reserve troops in Iraq and the day after they launched their departed, office buildings got suicide bombed the next day so they had to stay.
As for the 'Innocent deads' Saddam Hussein killed HALF A MILLION people..
Do you have not even the decency to respect those 500,000 dead too? And the thousands more he WOULD have killed.
Not that I buy into the 9-11 provocation, but why do you think Al-Q are lacking safe haven??? IT'S GROWING NOW! You've turned them into HEROES!!!
If you chase an international bloody criminal, and you come to my home, and you destroy it, and you kill my brother - guess what: I'LL JOIN YOUR ENEMY!!! And so is the entire neighborhood!
There are much more subtle ways to achieve this.
Unfortunately, this is only a pretext, so no one is really after it.
Ah, the old saying comes into mind 'Don't diss a plan, till you have a plan'
Please oh wise military sage, what ways do YOU think we should be going about stopping Al-Quida forces and splinter cells? You think military intervention isn't necasarry?
I will concede, our intelligence was somewhat lacking for various reasons. It's not about the number of troops, it's about the strategy you choose.
I previously said, it's not about the number of troops you send, it's about the tactics you employ and the amount of intelligence you can gather & how much you can get the public on your side. Many locales have now turned completely against the Taliban and are now helping the coalition in every respect; notably Anwar Province.
Er..fighting the Taliban & Al-Quida was one of the points, not the only one..but quite a big one.
As for killing your brother and turning you into a terrorist, you're obviously unaware of the massive breakthoughs we've made with particle acceleration weapons, that should be deployed very soon. Know what a PA weapon means? No blood. No kill.
It disrupts all electronics and thus can stop a suicide bomber in his tracks, without harming him or causing any physical damage to infrastructure. These PA weapons are now small enough to be deployed on an ATV by the way.
I'm sure these PA weapons will bring back the innocent deads!
(I'm also sure that the mothers of the US soldiers killed in useless battles would also be very happy, but that's off-topic)
And - PLEASE! I never used the term "terrorist"!! When you kill my innocent brother, you don't turn me into a terrorist, you make me an AVENGER or protector of "my land and people"!
Useless battles? Again, you're being amazingly callous and uncaring..
It's war, people get killed. It's nasty business, but that's just what war looks like I'm afraid. Trying to argue against the war, because soldiers have died is just being silly.
I submit to you sir, go to the women who have had their ears and noses chopped off for trying to leave the country, the gays the Taliban were burying alive, the women being hung from cranes..
As for 'It's growing now' again, you're just making it even more evident that you haven't done much (if any) research into the topic, before we even went into Iraq; we cleared out the Taleban strongholds in Afghanistan.
And yes, our intelligence department was using faulty strategies, however a large amount of the civilian population are now on the coalitions side. They don't want to be ruled by bloodhungry maniacs.
And since you've "cleared out the Taleban strongholds in Afghanistan" - why the increase of troops?!!!
The "large part of the population are now on the coalitions side" - this you know from the same people who told you that Iraq has WMDs, that it's going to be a swift war in Afghanistan, etc, I presume?
Because the soldiers that are coming home are often claiming the opposite...
Iraq DID have WMDs at one point and used them, repeatedly. 'The absence of evidence, is not the evidence of absence'.
Just because they managed to hide them succesfully ( I wonder where you could do that in a desert..) does not mean that they were not their. Even if they didn't have WMDs when we got there, they knew how to make them and DID use them in the past. So who's to say Hussein's regime wouldn't have deployed them again?
@BelfastAtheist "Iraq DID have WMDs at one point and used them, repeatedly." they did but he destroyed them in 1995. and the fact is before 2003 invasion weapons inspectors where sent and found nothing.

It is going to be a million times more difficult to set up any kind of self-functioning government now, and instead it appears that we are just looking for a way out which will likely involve a deal with some segments of the Taliban leadership. We have let the millions of Afghans who returned from exile b/c of our presence down completely

Everybody can occupy the land, but can't beat the people there: they aren't an army, at one point they fight you, then they suddenly "dissolve"...

arthurdonachy 1 year ago
@arthurdonachy
I hear you - and I think I know what you mean, but I do believe it is "democracy" what they are there for - a "US-style democracy", where incredibly rich people remain behind the scene and let common people and politicians play democracy, while actually little if anything depends on the will of the people.
it's like, "You chose you government, but it has to be some of these people - and we'll tell them what to do"-democracy.

my reply to grozde was sent because I thought though his heart was in the right place his belief that the spread of democracy was us ambition.He has since clarified his post;however I have this gnawing conviction that if an arab farts in gaza,hilary will know why

B1aDK 1 year ago
@B1aDK

@grozde Which Government provides its citizens more freedoms, a Democratic Gov. or a Totalitarian One?
sneakysnake2730 1 year ago
@sneakysnake2730
It really depends a lot on how do you define "freedom" and what liberties you value more...
When we became a "democratic" country in stead of a totalitarian one, we gained new freedoms and lost some of the old ones...
AND - these things are not so strictly tied anyway! ;-)

@grozde
Well..
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@BelfastAtheist
It insults ours and yours intelligence!
grozde 1 year ago
@grozde
By 'big part' I presume you meant Sudan?
If so, the EIJ (and Bin Laden) were expunged from Sudan in 1996 and told never to return after public opinion quickly swayed away from their cause, largely due to the continued attempts on President Mubarak's life, as well as various other myriad factors.
However..ever since Sudan employed Sharia; they were doomed. From that date the NCP has of course been their ruling (and only) party and has continually demployed guerillas worldwide.
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@grozde
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@grozde
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@grozde
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@BelfastAtheist
Unless you'd be happy to accept a claim that the 9-11 was an attempt to liberate the suppressed USA people!
grozde 1 year ago
@grozde
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@BelfastAtheist
i never said that USA has installed corrupted leaders in Iraq or Afghanistan! (Although you might want to look into the biography of the Afghani president and S. Hussein...)
The "logic" is simple: if USA installs dictators in some countries, the "counter-dictatorship motive" doesn't fly!
The way you find the 9-11 example absurd and stupid (and it IS!), is the same way sane people see your "humanitarian" excuse.
grozde 1 year ago
@grozde
My apologies, I must have misread you.
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@BelfastAtheist
Ah, I really hopped you wouldn't try THAT!!!...
You DON'T have to resolve ANY humanitarian crisis - you DON'T owe it to anyone!
HOWEVER, if you install dictators and you neglect ENORMOUS humanitarian tragedies, you simply cannot use the "humanism" justification when you BOMB A COUNTRY!!!
grozde 1 year ago
@grozde
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@BelfastAtheist
Again:
I NEVER SAID THERE WASN'T! I'm just saying that 1. you made it worse - at least in Iraq; 2. it wasn't the cause to go there, because USA (as any other country) is neglecting much BIGGER crisis and sometimes even provoking them.
Please stop making up strawmen and address my arguments.
grozde 1 year ago
@grozde
Made it worse?
Again, I'm sorry that my argument is getting so pleonastic..but you REALLY don't seem to know *anything* about the wars themselves; or their impacts.
I'm sorry, but that's just the impression I'm getting off you. I have repeatedly addressed your arguments and I fail to see where I deployed a straw man..other than pointing out that you're evidently talking out of your ass sir.
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@grozde
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@grozde
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@grozde
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@BelfastAtheist
Unfortunately, this is only a pretext, so no one is really after it.
grozde 1 year ago
@grozde
You really don't know anything about this do you?
Ah, the old saying comes into mind 'Don't diss a plan, till you have a plan'
Please oh wise military sage, what ways do YOU think we should be going about stopping Al-Quida forces and splinter cells? You think military intervention isn't necasarry?
I will concede, our intelligence was somewhat lacking for various reasons. It's not about the number of troops, it's about the strategy you choose.
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@BelfastAtheist
Au contraire, mon cher.
You fight terrorists with intelligence and diversion. You fight them by breaking their financial and moral support.
The way the USA is doing it is counterproductive.
Of course, fighting Al-Q was never the point - not the major one, at least.
grozde 1 year ago
@grozde
You're just mirroring my own words now?
I previously said, it's not about the number of troops you send, it's about the tactics you employ and the amount of intelligence you can gather & how much you can get the public on your side. Many locales have now turned completely against the Taliban and are now helping the coalition in every respect; notably Anwar Province.
Er..fighting the Taliban & Al-Quida was one of the points, not the only one..but quite a big one.
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@grozde
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@BelfastAtheist
Great!
I'm sure these PA weapons will bring back the innocent deads!
(I'm also sure that the mothers of the US soldiers killed in useless battles would also be very happy, but that's off-topic)
And - PLEASE! I never used the term "terrorist"!! When you kill my innocent brother, you don't turn me into a terrorist, you make me an AVENGER or protector of "my land and people"!
grozde 1 year ago
@grozde
Go to THEM and call it 'pointless battles'.
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@grozde
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@BelfastAtheist
i didn't get your point about Iraq...
Because the soldiers that are coming home are often claiming the opposite...
grozde 1 year ago
@grozde
BelfastAtheist 1 year ago
@BelfastAtheist "Iraq DID have WMDs at one point and used them, repeatedly." they did but he destroyed them in 1995. and the fact is before 2003 invasion weapons inspectors where sent and found nothing.
