Because Caesar salad consists of romaine lettuce and croutons. And it is dressed with parmesan, lemon juice, olive oil, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and black pepper (Caesar dressing).
Just to be sure (not that it really matter but still) When genie said Osiris (or however you write it) it was Ra right? or am I just horribly wrong?..
@theguywhoannoysme If the notion (more like rumor) that a person hates a certain group puts them out of the running, the U.S.A. would never have elected a President. You can't rely solely on the rumor mill to judge a person's character accurately.
I always thought this scene was funny as a kid. It wasn't 'til I watched it again as a 20 year old that I fully understood just how funny it actually is!!
I guess if Genie was not impersonating Moses then I would have a problem, See Agrabah is a part of the Muslim Empire; AKA Ottomen Empire, And the Ottomen Empire existed between 1299 to 1923 AD, That was WAY after Moses, Jesus and all of the disciples as well.
Whoa, dude. You're getting way too analytical here. O_o haven't you notcied that Genie exists outside of time? He throws in references from the past and future and alternate timelines.
@bellakazza It's not that the Genie is 'out of time', I think, as while it's obviously set during the Muslim Empire, in 'A Whole New World' Aladdin and Jasmine travel through many places and times. It's really just 'a time of legends' with no importance to accuracy. Keep in mind that while Genie IMPERSONATES Moses, and Osiris/Horus and Thor are immortal Gods, Caesar and Cleopatra are also there and ALIVE. Not impersonated. Caesar died in 44 BC. See how it doesn't really matter?
@bellakazza O.o the joke has nothing to do with Islam or the Ottoman Empire. It's a self-fulfillng joke, in that when a crowd parts, its usually because someone important has arrived. Crowds can also sometimes be described as literally a sea of people. In the case of the joke however, the two large men represent the Red Sea. The one on the left has clothes colored to the natural look of any body of water, while the one on the right is red for obvious reasons. Hence the Moses joke.
@bellakazza Yeah, you're right. Moses clearly is a rediculous concept in this Disney movie. Alternatively, it is much easier to believe that Thor, the Egyptian God Osiris, and Caesar would be there. Good one.
@bellakazza no the Muslim's stil veiw figures in both the Hebrew and Christian as good ones that helped shape the world for the better and that the modern day people are corrupt but i personally think it is just the war just turnning a small amount of them
@bellakazza So? That didn't stop Disney from putting Hercules and Aladdin together in both their TV series. And it certainly didn't stop them from having Merlin predict such things as the locomotive in The Sword And The Stone. Bringing different people from different times together (unless you're talking Mulan or one of those other ones) was the style they used for the purpose of humor and it worked really well. So if you don't like it, you'll need to get accustomed.
He says "I'm Thor" but it's suppose to come off as he doesn't know how to say "sore" properly so when he says "You're Thor?" "Well it hurts." It's suppose to be a play on words that Thor took the place of sore, classic!
"and who's this coming down in the lovely strech camel? it's cleoparta and caeser. oh, and they're bringing a salad, how wonderful. oh look, there's osiris. oh osiris! osiris, can we have a word with you?" SQUACK " oh no, the crowd is parting, who's coming? it's MOSES! and your name is?"
"i'm thor"
"you're thor?"
"well, it hurts."
"once again, this whole broadcast is brought to you by SAND: it's everywhere. get used to it"
@persianking44 I always thought the joke was that the god Genie is actually calling is Horus, not Osiris. Horus was Osiris's son, and he was born with a falcon head. :-P
As soon as I saw the trailer for the new Thor movie I immediately thought of this part of Aladdin 3. Probably one of the better straight to video type films. Robin Williams owned the first film and his return makes this one a heck of a lot more relevant than Return of Jafar, which was a train wreck.
Osiris looked a bit more like Ra in my view XD and before, I didn't get the whole Ceasar Salad when I was little until I got older. Now i'm laughing my ass off........I miss my childhood :(
