Rocky needs some buffs to be on par with most of the cast, if you ask me... He's hard to use, his range is limited, the low hitstun off most of his moves makes combos crazy tight, his health is too low, and much about him isn't as good as it should be, like how short his traps last/how easily they are blocked/destroyed. I'm not saying he doesn't have anything going for him, but he needs more hitstun, some move tweaking, and maybe a bit higher damage output in the least, if you ask me.
I can see in the button inputs your pressing (Down+ forward) followed by the boulder input. then you dash in by moveing the analog stick sort of 180degrees from back to up to forward dash quickly. S launch then repeat from (Down+Forward) to do another boulder trap.
Can you do the boulder loop to death? would never attempt this online unless the person is a turtle.
@xRocketzFighterx It's actually not infinite despite what it looks like, so likely you can't take someone from full life to death without some meter attached. You can successfully land maybe up to 8 or so loops before the person techs out of it so long as you start with something simple. The boulder loop is however his best option for meter gain and damage in the corner.
@AndyFontana11 Sounds like you're using boulder trap a bit late..Try buffering boulder trap while bear trap is still active. Anyway, more health for RR would be nice.. But I'd rather keep his low health so long as they don't nerf his mobility. I would /love/ it if they buffed his damage so that he didn't have to work so hard, especially when compared to other characters though.
aand well you're right the best RR has is his mobility.. but it pisses me off when i get to plant all 3 traps and then let's say.. they throw a proyectile and bam! that's it for my traps.. :/
if they dont raise RR's stamina They should actually let the traps work after he's hit.. i mean... look at CHRIS... he has 1.100.000 stamina and the granades work after he is hit... and he doesn't have to shoot at them to make them create the flame carpet.... it just doesnt make sense :/
@MegaInstantnoodles Y'know, I've never actually tried it.. But my guess is no? Unless you can manage to be super tight about the hits, I think the stun would have prorated enough for people to kinda tech out of it. If I have the time this week to test it out, I'll message you XD

The timeing is easy to get thrown off on the third boulder I know when to launch and plant another trap but my dash is toooooo fucking slooooowwww or did capcom patch this game makeing this loop not possible?
@xRocketzFighterx I popped in UMvC3 for a little to check and see if this combo still works and it does. The boulder loop for whatever reason usually gets messed up around the third loop. If the dash is the problem, my personal key to remembering when to dash is by pressing forward when Rocket says "Boul" and then again at "Der" which you can kinda see in the input display. Really, you just gotta find what works for you.

@LemonOfSilence Well, after you connect log trap, you wanna Rocket skates up to them and drop a little bit before inputting S so that they're closer to the ground for the next Super Jump/S you have to input. Hopefully that helps

@freckleburger In theory, yes. The boulder loop itself isn't infinite but he does have a few options if you DHC or XFactor through his supers, if that's what you were asking.

@Im2Godlike After inputting Bear Trap (DP+Medium), I keep my thumb on forward and roll my thumb from the forward position hitting all the directions in a clockwise motion til I hit the upward left direction, where I press Light. Then go forward, tap twice, trying to time both inputs with "Boul" and "Der" respectively, Then input S at the same time I hear the bear trap 'activating' (it sounds like a laser). Then from that forward + S, I roll my thumb back to up left + X, and repeat.

Yes that actually does work I was able to do better I hope capcom does not nerf this guy actually give him a lil faster healing factor.
Best use for the boulder trap is after bear trap and the log trap its easier to pull off and deals pretty good damge to.
oh btw lol to the ending I always annoy people with oil bombs

@LemonOfSilence Well, after you connect log trap, you wanna Rocket skates up to them and drop a little bit before inputting S so that they're closer to the ground for the next Super Jump/S you have to input. Hopefully that helps
