Matt,I bought 2 of these sets and the first one had the imperial and renegade daleks with the new guns but the second had the same old guns

Batmanmarch in the actual episode the on screen imperial dalek props had blue irises and gold pupils, and if you are not happy about the weathering effect on the swd, mix some brown/ black paint with water and apply it to the skirt and shoulder sections.

I think the reason why they used the Imperial Dalek slats is because that's a renegade so maybe it is to show that it has changed side possibly?

Everything is perfect on my rememberance set, but for one thing, my supreme dalek's plunger is very wobbly, it sometimes feels like it's loose, but it's hard to pull out. Obviously the hole inwhich the plunger is plased has worn away.

luckily i was able to bend it back

its still abit bent but not as bad as it was

The things you mentioned with the brush marks, now you should see my Dr.N.Gin figure! It's awful! Paint bleeds, and also like you said, with brush marks all over the joints and some on the face.

Most Crash figures were detailed, but badly painted and fragile.

He cost over 50 QUID!

To be honest, complaining about the number of slats there are isn't really THAT bad. I like figures to be quite accurate but I don't see the disadvantage in being slightly inaccurate, but I see where you're coming from. Like you said, it's to do with the detail used for the Daleks.

Looks like you've been a bit unlucky, but you're right, it is a nice set. The worst thing on my set it that the supreme Dalek has (on part of it's head) barely any shiny black spray, so it has a greyish/browner section.

I hardly am able to buy the figures at all now though, so I really love this. Remembrance was my first classic story.

i got mine today at the forbidden planet shop in London and you were right about quality control! I had to look through LOADS of them till i found good ones. It was right at the back! I think character Options are getting a bit lazy.

i actually think that the supreme daleks eyestalk is supposed to have too much white to make the pupil look smaller andon the prototype pictures didn't the supreme dalek have the genisi base and the renegade have the double fender

Sorry if i seem abit of a git for saying this , but i found this Review of yours abit annoying when you keeped mentioning " Quality Control " and going on and on about the paint scheme on the Figures .

Personnally , i think the paint scheme on each of them is fine , and hey , atleast they didint give each figure the wrong paint scheme by painting them in colours that they never featured in in that story .

Good Review thou , very informative dispite the annoying stuff i just mentioned .

@doctorwhoone I'm merely highlighting the fact that some sets aren't as good as they should be. It's not fair that people pay thirty pounds and recieve items that are covered in paint bleed, and in some case warped plungers, eyestalks and also missing completely.

I doubt i'll ever get this set thou , since it's a bleeden Forbidden Planet exclusive and it takes ages to get to the one in London so if i went their to buy it they probably wouldint have it , and i dont concidering buying online safe no matter what people might say about " safe , secure online shopping " .

@batmanmarch your right about the pieces falling but paint bleeds can be just a mistake or by accident and its a bit of a nitpick complaining the internal eyestalk is blue, painters can make mistakes, but your right about the shoddy quality control

Yeah, very bad on the QC. Although, the slattering on the Renegade Dalek is correct in terms of style as it was only the Totter's Lane Dalek that had the mesh, whereas the other Renegades (look at the pictures on the box) had a white box.

I was very disappointed with this set, it seems that standards are really slipping with the QC.....in fact I reckon they're using reject parts and cobbling these sets together for a quick profit. Very sloppy.

The only major problem with my set was the eyestalks on the Supreme and Imperial Daleks. Both had a clear elastic band added in such a way they were both severly deformed when I unpacked them. Easily fixed with a dip in hot water though so I'm very happy with this set.

To conclude from my first comment as I've now officially got this set, I think I was also very lucky on the quality of the paint job of this set, my Imperial Dalek was abit shabby though, my special weapons dalek was incredible apart from the weathering at the top, my supreme dalek was also incredible and my renegade dalek is also ok but I agree tottaly on the fact that the eyestalk was ridiculously small!!!

My Supreme Dalek had its collar not level. I had to take it apart and refit the collar which is slightly raised as that is the only i could get it level. Other than that its not as bad

Great review. We've been seeing a lot of Quality Control errors in the exclusives coming over to America (the 11 Doctors Box Set in particular) and its escalated past minor errors every once in a while to at least a few dozen every time a figure comes out! Nice set, even though I think I'd only want the Special Weapons Dalek. Though the plain Renegade does look nice. Keep up the great work man!!

brilliant review! I went to FPI sheffield, one of the supreme daleks in one box I saw had a white streak right down the middle! I chose a fairly good one, unfortunately my supreme daleks eye comes out easily, and the shoulder section of my SWD looks like someone put pencil marks on. again, ace review, just about to watch the others =D

the new eye stalks are more accurate and are the right size its just the body of the dalek being a 60s to 70s shape makes it look out of proportion , such a shame they didnt resculpt the body because it would have made me want to buy it but i really dont like this set at all.

Brilliant review Matthew! I think you've highhlighted some excellent points, regarding each and every one of the Daleks. It's quite terrible that the distributors do not get as involved as they should, when it comes to quality control. I think however, if those that produce the figures have any sense, they'll watch your reviews on how not to make the same mistake twice, etc...

Well Matt your copy of this set has to be the best because your our main figure reviewer...Your's are very detailed making them better than any others.
