Ninja 250 is a great bike in general. Sure, you can't go fast like a 600, but it handles just as well, sometime even better then some 600s because its so light. Frankly, if you don't have plans to go 100mph all the time, i dont see why the speed would be a concern for a first bike. Go with what you can afford.

@Maldrend get a 600, you'll get bored of a 250 so fast. im 16 myself and i do not own a street bike, but i have rode my brothers 250 when he had it, and ive rode his 600. the 250 was really slow, like it had no balls, my cr250 (dirtbike) felt faster then it.

a lot of the ones that work are the spark plug, and carburetor based ones. my favorite is someone elses invention where it pressurizes the gas and air in a single chamber and it gets shot into the engine, and apparently its so pressurized it automatically combust, even without a spark plug. omg. sounds crazy. mine is more or less an oxidizer and tunes the computer to recognize it without floodin it w/ gas and canceling gains

I got an 06 250r, I commute 10 miles on the highway, UNTIL I changed both sprockets, I was running at 9k rpm for 70 mph. Now I'm running 7k @ 70. Were the sprockets stock on this bike?
