Found this one late but very glad to see it. Isiah is best PG in Piston history. Billups is #3. Dave Bing is #2! Even without a ring! Led the league in scoring as PG in his second year. One of 50 best players in league history.
Billups is an outstanding player and leader but he is far from the threat that either Isiah or Bing was. Wish Billups immense success with the Knicks and beyond!
I love both players ... . Isaiah is maybe a top 10 player all time in the NBA .. Chauncey might make the HOF but only if he gets the Nuggets a title ..
No contest. Isiah would absolutely destroy Chauncey. Chauncey was good but Isiah is the elite PG of All-time and Chauncey is in the elite PGs of just Piston history.
@gregpimpmack2 I hope your are right about Chauncey's Number 1 being hung up in the rafters; but do really think it will ever happen? Don't get me worng, I hope it does, but I don't know if he play long enough as a Piston to do so. He did bring us one championship, but I'm not sure that's enough and he was traded, because he took too many games for granted and we lost because of it. Once again, I hope you are right and I'm worng! Billups made me excited and mad in the same game many times.
@diablo313 I hear you loud and clear. I really don't know in Chauncey's case. He did bring us a chanpionship and he was the MVP that year. It would be hard not to hang his number up to the raffters. Is he as good as Thomas? HELL NO! However, the 2004 teme won it all and Chauncey was the MVP, because of that, someone number has to be hung to the raffters. Who if not Chauncey? Chauncey is over rated in my opinion, but like I said MVP and Title.
@TOPCOO To be honest, I think the MVP title could of gone to Ben Wallace too. I don't know, I know he played his ass off during that series but when he won it I remember being surprised by it because I thought overall Ben Wallace had a better performance. Ben arguably drew the toughest defensive assignment in guarding Shaq (when he was still good) and clogged the lane not letting Kobe or anyone else get into the lane.
@cbillsallday The same starters? Tayshaun and Rip? Ben Wallace on the brink of retiring? I think you need to wake up.
Chauncey leaving has nothing to do with Pistons failing. Chauncey left and what has he done in Denver? Choked in WCF against the Lakers and choke again in the first round of this year's playoffs? The same choke job he was doing in all the ECFs the Pistons couldn't seem to pass.
@diablo313 ... Did you know that when a NBA team makes the playoffs it brings revenue/money to the organization because of national tv appearences, ticket sales, merchandising and commercial endorsements.
The post season is about money as much as championships. Did you know that?
BTW, the palace is 1/2 empty now w/o CB. The pistons went from the 2nd best team in the EC and 4th best team in the league to the 6th WORST out of 30 teams. And thats a good thing because?
@cbillsallday So what you are telling me is that you rather have a team that is selling tickets, merchandise and going with the motions during the playoffs than to win a championship? Please. And Billups does not sell tickets, if the Pistons were this bad with Billups on the roster the Palace would still be half empty. And to add, one man does not make or break a team, especially the way this team was designed. You bring Billups back to the Pistons and we win maybe 10 more games at the most.
@diablo313 I live on the west coast and everyone I know is a lakers fan. But the reason I loved the pistons was the Bad Boys and Chauncey.
So I would look at the NBA schedule to see how many regular sesons games the Pistons would have on national tv . In 2005-2007 it was 20-30. This year it was 2 and the pistons were HORRIBLE... but the nuggets were ELITE. So I'm glad Chauncey got out of that hell hole and is happy with young studs in Denver. Anyway the pistons are going to be SOLD.
@diablo313 ......did you say championship??? the pistons are the worst team in the east ......but if they had Chauncey at least they would still be making the playoffs.
BTW Chauncey had his best stats ever with the nuggets last year.
The pistons are history and Chauncey is a legend...he is with the USA team this summer and will be in a coach or GM in the NBA after he stops playing.
I will get NBALP again to watch all the pistons games but only because of Isiah and Chauncey's legacy.
@cbillsallday The Nuggets were elite to the point they got eliminated in the first round. Does it really matter what Chauncey's stats were during the regular season? Even when Chauncey was with the Pistons he put up got regular season stats but where was Chauncey when the Jazz gave his team the boot? The Pistons would not be making the playoffs with Chauncey, this team has a lot other and more important problems than Chauncey not being on the roster.
@diablo313 Chauncey has been in the playoffs every year since 2001 and 7 conference finals thats better than any current NBA point player (including Kidd, Nash, Duncan, etc). And the Jazz are are great team, so what?
Regular season stats are the reason a team gets to the playoffs, so playing at a high level during the season is a good thing. Why else would fans come to the regular season games? I guess thats why the palace is empty now because the pistons cant win regular season games w/o CB.
@cbillsallday I would continue to argue with you but throughout this whole convo you have shown you know very little to nothing about basketball. I come to the conclusion that this seems pointless and not worth arguing any more when the person I'm arguing with considers Tim Duncan a "point player" (point guard). You said you are Piston/Badboy fan and watched Chauncey since his Pistons' days but with all the down-talking on the organization I realize what was said was a sham just get credibility.
@diablo313.... it was an mental error when I said "point" I meant to say "prominent" NBA player. ....And I have watched Chauncey since he was with the Timberwolves and was estatic when he went to my favorite NBA team- The Pistons. STOP hatin on Chauncey and show him the respect he deserves. I bet you are an Iverson fanboy.
FACE REALITY.. .Chauncey is the second best player in PISTON history so STFU!!!!
@cbillsallday lol @ Iverson fanboy...I wish you would put money on that bet, you would be in the poor house.
Never hated on Chauncey, only gave the simple truth about him. I feel Chauncey is a very good player but he's not a player that can individually turn a team around.
I'm taking it you feel Isiah is the best player in Pistons' history and Chauncey follows? If that's the case, that was the whole point of my original statement, glad to know you agree and your argument was a pointless.
@diablo313 He turned the Nuggets around and led them to the Western Conference Finals. SMH, can't individually turn a whole team around? well he did. just saying.
@Cbillupsfan4life That's good. How many times did he lead them to the WCF?
Were they not a playoff team before he got there? I'm sorry I didn't know the Nuggets were worst team in the Western Conference and Billups single-handedly turned that team around into a team that gets eliminated in the first round.
He's such a great leader, he can't even keep the marquee player of that team on the roster.
@diablo313 They may have been a playoff team, but they were eigth seed every year! And getting swept in the first round. He led them once out of two years, last year they would of went all the way if injuries weren't a factor and if George Karl didn't get cancer. And he pretty much single handedly turned that team around, he was the new addition, and look what happened to Detroit when he left, they feel apart. So that shows how BIG of a role Chauncey Billups is too a team. ;)
@Cbillupsfan4life Denver was NOT getting swept out of the playoffs "every year", they got swept out once and the last time I remember once does not constitute as "every year".
The Pistons have suffered more than just losing their star PG and yes, losing Chauncey has had an affect but you (and a lot of other people) are not looking at the bigger picture. This team wouldn't be much better than what they are right now even if we did get Chauncey back for nothing.
Billups was great for the Pistons in the past 6yr but I think you have 2 give it Thomas being better he is a Hall of Famer,Billups is not but he is still a great PG.

Chauncey Billups sucks! The man can't even elevate his team to win championships when he's clearly had the best team in the NBA over the past 5 years. You switch and put Isiah on these Pistons teams now and they have at least 4 rings in 5 years. Plus, all Billups does is shoot threes and perimeter shots and misses layups; the guy is a joke of a point guard and a joke ofr a player. Just putting Zeke vs. Billups elevates Billups in this video that he's even mentioned with Thomas in the same breath
All I'm saying is generally point guards seem to have changed from pass-first to shoot-first, and I was just using the individuals on this clip to demonstrate my point. I'm not really basing my justification from this clip, but rather on years of watching these guys in actual game play.I'm not saying one style is better than the other, I'm just stating my observations. So, if you don't agree, I don't care, and if your opinion differs from mine,I can respect that.
Good video, it's funny because you can tell how the point guards in the NBA have changed. You saw Isiah doing a lot of passing, and every single Chauncey clip was of his shooting.lol.
I guess you make a point...passing 4x out of thirty clips demonstrates his point guard prowess...although that's still 4 more than chauncey...either way you slice there wasn't much of a difference between the two

Isiah shot when needed. During his earlier years he was more of a shooter, but did less with the better supporting team aka Bad Boys. But when they were down, Isiah was dangerous and more dangerous than any small guard. He was frightening on the court.
Chauncey is a nice player, but to mention him in the same breath with Isiah is just wrong. Isiah is the best little man to ever play this game.
