  • Torsten, what exactly are you lining up or aiming? Are you looking over the top of the slingshot or looking through between the two posts or are you just looking at the target and shooting instinctivly?

    Barry

  • @fluteplayer38

I hold the slingshot sideways while shooting.

I do not really aim, I`m a more instinctive shooter. I bring the bands exactly in one line with the target and then I focus the target and see the slingshot in the edge of my sight. When I have the feeling I have the right position (hight of the slingshot) I do release the shot.

The point of the release is more a thing of the right feeling for me.

I tried to aim earlier, but it doesn`t work for me.

    Regards

    Torsten

  • a question: have you ever hit your head using this style. I really think it is possible.

btw, it looks so easy to shoot in this way. nice and informative vid

  • @fuhrmeisters1

Yes, it happens from time to time that the pouch touches my cheek after the release. But not very painful :)

  • could hit you in the face

  • @InnerSilence123

    No risk, no fun :)

  • shoot this style since a few days now. works good so far. cool speed...

    thanks a lot

  • @SchwarzerKanal110

    Yes, the speed is amazing!

Have fun again and shoot save...

    Regards

  • steve job

  • @AntiBlast

    unmasked :)

  • Nice shooting style - looks so easy and elegant.

What`s better, cheek anchor or albatross??

  • @SchwarzerKanal110

They are both very common and I will not say this or that style is better. It is just a question of personal preferences and you can shoot very accurate with both styles.

    Regards

  • @1611torsten

    Ok thanks.

You need a special slingshot for albatross shooting?

  • @SchwarzerKanal110

No, nearly every common slingshot design is ok. Even with a very small gap between the forks.

But you need longer bands for this style. Something around 25cm effective band length. A bit more for less speed and longer band life,a bit less for more speed and less band life.

  • DRY FIRE

  • why do u use this style - for speed, accuracy...?

Btw, looks like a lot of practise is needed.

  • @experiment5113

I use this style because it delivers much more speed at the same draw weight.

I think that increases MY accuracy - the more draw weight, the more shaking the slingshot...

But I think the short draw style is not less accurate. It`s a question of personal preferences and, yes, practice

    Regards

  • Quite graceful, actually.

    Great vid.

    "THWACK!"

  • @usernamemykel

Thanks THWACK - see you on the forum...

  • Very helpful. I appreciate the close-ups.

  • @BardofCornwall

Thanks - hope this vid encourages a few shooters to try this style.

    Regards

  • Great shooter a really gentleman

  • @sherifshaker45

    Thanks!!

  • I got scared when he was holding the slingshot to the camera at 0:47!!! haha

  • This should be titled "CIRQUE DU SOLEIL", pinkie style!

  • In welcher Stadt ist das?

  • @Homer3864

    Stadt...kann man das nicht nennen.

  • @1611torsten Kommt mir so bekannt vor...

  • Good work!!!

  • but he shows how to hold the yoke an that's the point for me...

  • I have to ask, how do you avoid stinging your face or after a lot of practice you learn to not shoot your face?

  • @packrat541

I don`t think about the possibility to sting my face :)

But to be honest: it sometimes happens, but I`m still alive...

    Regards

  • @1611torsten at first i didnt even notice that it was an acual sling shot i saw it as a sling

  • @bughunter5010

What do you expect - a guy playing table tennis??

It`s a short video about a special slingshot shooting style - no sensation show or something like that.

  • @1611torsten

See my reply to this moron, who doesn't see beyond his nose.

  • @usernamemykel

    Thanks TWACK!

You know, there are a lot of funny guys around here on youtube...They should simply watch vids with more "dramatic" content.

    Best regards

    Torsten

  • @bughunter5010 no shit sherlock

  • @bughunter5010

No, not just SOME guy shooting a slingshot. Torsten is a gentleman who has garnered great respect from the established slingshot community for sharing with us, in great detail, his method of long-range, accurate shooting.

What is "stupid" is your inability to realize and appreciate his contributions. What have YOU contributed to YOUR community, by the way???.

  • you're a very nice shot Mr Torsten. i have made the butterfly bands you showed us in your other video and it shoots great. thanks for everything.

  • Hi Mr. Amazing shooter again can you tell me how you judge the aiming thank you for your time.

  • @Codenamebravo

I do not aim, I shoot instinctiv. Youtube user MasterBillHayes has a good shooting tutorial video on his channel!

    Regards

  • i heard that if your right handed you hold the slingshot with your left hand but i'm right handed and feel for comfortable holding it in my right hand and pulling the rubber thingy with my left hand ?

Is it something that i have to get use to cuz it has benefits?

  • @chillmagicboy

same at me: I`m right handed and hold the slingshot in my right hand, draw with the left.

It has something to do with the dominant eye: the left eye is my dominant eye, so I can have a better view at the target when I draw with the left hand.

    Regards

    Torsten

  • When drawing you let the band touch your cheek, personally im pretty scared to do that, id hate a wicked face slap, can you explain the physics behind this, maybe remove some fear lol....

  • oppps,,forgot to add,im using a barnet cobra sling shot,,,cheers....

  • Hi mate, great video, ive just started using slingshot again on our farm for pest control, but i cant hit a dam thing lol,i use the butterfly style but just cant get my aim in(not even at 10 yards,i keep shooting all around the target),,can you help please??

    cheers,all the best wayne(scotland,uk).

  • @uksniper1

I can`t give you any tips in terms of aiming because I shoot instinctively.

But youtube user MasterBillHayes has a good shooting tutorial video which includes some good tips!

    Regards

    Torsten

  • I love the video. Very clear and easy to see with no verbal communication. The only thing I'm not sure about your style is are you left or right handed? I normally shoot similar to standard archery style, with the slingshot in my left hand and drawing only to the corner of the mouth. Your way certainly looks superior.

  • Anyone wanting to make a instructional video about a physical topic would do well to see yours first. I learned a lot. Very well done. Thanks!

  • 141m/s is crazy! great shooting as always

    Devan

  • do you aim or insticctive?

  • @pombos007

    short distances: instinctiv

long range: something between aim and instinctiv

  • Sorry to inform you but the initial speed you claim is false. I built some slingshots with different lengths, pulling forces from 2 to 15 kg, thera band colours and ammo from 0.5 to 20 gram. I also shot with commercially available slingshots. 60-70 m/s is what you get. 140 m/s with a piece of rubber is a fiction!

  • @your5starvids

    I respectfully disagree!

Many other slingshooters confirm my numbers in the 120 - 130 m/s area!

141,7 m/s is at the moment the highest video documented slingshot speed.

It`s no secret in the slingshot community that this highspeed is possible with thin LATEX bands and a long draw length.

You can test it with black Theraband, tapered from 32mm down to 8mm, 27 cm long and two layers per side. Use a very light pouch - under 0.2 gr, 7.5 mm steelballs and albatros-style!

    Regards

  • Excellent video Torsten! I hold the pouch the way you showed in view 2. Nice job Bud!

  • @Flatband

    Thanks Gary!

I do not know any other shooter holding the pouch like view 1 - instead of me!

I think the second way is more accurate but I don`t come along with it :(

  • Great video.

How close to your ear? (seems to almost touch it)

You explain draw, grip, and flip very well.

  • nice vid my friend is that theraband ? i think you need to wear a white glove on next video against a dark background lol ? great vid and happy shooting

  • Gutes Video. Danke.

  • geiles lernvideo! butterfly sieht immer so professionell aus!

  • Great shooting......

your horse drawing could use some work though. :)

  • I am 90% sure I would slice my face open doing that...

Very well done on the form, and VERY well done video also!

  • Werde ich auch mal ausprobieren müssen :D
