How to Animate with Pencil

@TheDragonFreak7 it's not possible. pencil just shows the layers for you, so it is easyer. But it is IMPOSSIbLE to add audio into pencil directly. i read the manual, website blah blah blah....

@Darbydootx There's an option at the top called "Layer". Scroll under that, and make a new layer. You choose whether or not you want bitmap or vector. I usually use bitmap though.

pencil pisses me off. Its hard to color in pictures with the paint bucket. Its hard to color in vectors with the brush tool. Then it crashes a lot with making a backup save file.. I dont have anything better so i use it.

@phebethewolf Well, you're only gonna need one picture to keep it standing still when you edit it. Otherwise when you export the frames you'll get a ton of just one picture.

i know i already asked a lot of questions, but i have some more. like when i fill in the color on the line layer, it goes all transparent, and stuff, and the opacity is full, and when i look at the buttons to the left, they are solid, well at least the line layer one is, and the others are grey, but when i click on them they go empty.

@artkitten137 You have to click on the circles multiple times, and they ALL have to be solid. Every circle on that left side at the edge of the layers MUST be solid.

And to import a background, just save the .png or .jpg. And the open the spot where the file is. (Make sure you're on the background layer,) then just drag the file straight into Pencil. That should do it! :3

When I use the fill tool on the line layer, everything works perfectly except for one thing: the color is transparent, even if the alpha (opacity) is all the way up. Then, if I click on the color layer, the lineart is transparent. Do you know what I mean? I really need some help!

@zlamoon On the very left side with the layers, you'll notice some little circles. Those determine the opacity of the layers. Click on them and make sure they are all SOLID colored. That should fix it! :3

@Kittyboom9 WEEELLL. You'll see in the video how the layers are set up. But anyways, to get the picture in there go to the folder where you can see the png. or jpg. file and just drag the picture straight into pencil.

@MrThebestofthebest20 You can draw it, or you can drag in an image that is BIGGER than the dimensions of pencil. Which I believe is something like 1095x763 (Something like that...)

@scourge485 Umm the animation should look like a white file. You have to export all the frames with Export>Image Sequence and then upload the pictures to Windows Live Movie Maker.

@bearyanna221 Ah no it's fine ^^ No bother I love to help. What you do is select your background layer, and then drag in an image that you want to use. Make sure the picture you're using is a big one, otherwise it won't fit and will be too small. And that should do the trick :3

@speckelpelt As in the line? You just click the line tool and then draw with it. Just make a seperate layer for every tool. (Kind of.) Sketch is the pencil tool= layer 1. Line= another layer, color, and so on.

@will83tnt If you're editing it in a video to last long, you only need one picture. If you need to copy and paste you just go to the top left corner. Edit > Copy > Paste. And what do you mean by, "but when i add a frame it doesnt animate" What does that mean?
