helena makes an awesome rosemary! not sure about the guy playing gordon, though. but seeing as this is one of my favorite books, i'm going to keep watching and give him the benefit of the doubt.
@xitsCASS I wasn't hating her or anything. But sure ;) ( I hope you're not mad or anything, didn't mean to offensive) This was how I became a HBC fan and begging your pardon if you like Kate Winslet. *blushes*
@SweeneyToddKicksAss I used to like Kate Winslet but she quickly lost my respect because she deliberately flaunted her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio by doing Revolutionary Road. HBC works with Johnny Depp all the time but doesn't take it for granted. I take it you don't like Kate Winslet?
@SweeneyToddKicksAss I'm not angry at you. I was just asking. KW lost my respect by deliberatly flaunting her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio by doing Revolutionary Road. I love HBC because she doesnt take working with Johnny Depp and Tim Burton for granted.
"Helenaists" Now, that cracked me up. As a matter of fact, I might get a tshirt saying this - it's not too obvious yet charming and funny :-) thx for the upload!
Just under a few minutes left to wish a Happy Birthday to George Orwell, not that he can acknowledge such things. A neat film. Been a REG fan since "Withnail & I."
I loved this book, along with all of Orwell's works. I'm glad to see the humor is preserved in this movie, and it's already shaping up to be a better rendition to a film production than the film travesty that was 1984.
@strepsil08 Pile of wank? Hahaha, Brit vernacular.
This is true, and the end of the book was a little cheesy for me. Didn't quite fit with the book or the traditional Orwell ending (but damn does that man know what sentence to put at the end of a book.) By the way, have you read Coming Up for Air?
I'm a new Helena fan and I just keep going down her filmography and watching movie after movie and finding that many are on youtube...it's been a week long marathon of Helena and possibly every single British actor/actress to grace the screen...thanks for loading all these
She's simply wonderful in a little-known film called "Where Angels Fear to Tread" (1991) with Helen Mirren, Judy Davis, and Rupert Graves ("A Room with a View")!!!
@csi3willows Helena is a great-granddaughter of Asquith and a relative of Jo Grimond. But I still have never liked her. She was good as that tart in the Forster novel's film version though....give me a moment, I'll think of it. Howard's End.

Can people not hate on Kate Winslet? Let's just talk about how amazing Helena Bonham Carter is, k.

I think Orwell would have hated this. But he didn't much like the book either (not that the two are REMOTELY similar in tone or atmosphere).
If you want to see Richard E Grant playing essentially the same character but with a far better script you're better off watching Withnail & I...

Have any of you seen Enigma? ( It's a Kate Winslet film) HBC also kind of looks like Hester from Enigma

What the fuck is this pile of wank? Keep The Aspidistra flying is a story about social alienation and personal despair, not a fucking love story.

Question: Why, if he has only just this minute quit his job, does he not have any money to pay for tea?
northanortha 2 years ago 2
I think he gets his sister to pay for it.

@SweeneyToddKicksAss
But why can't he afford it? He just quite that day, and should still have his latest wage.
