gee man, look at all the guys on this '06 UM defense who are in the NFL... Shawn Crable (Patriots) David Harris (Jets) Prescott Burgess (Ravens) LaMarr Woodley (Steelers) Alan Branch (Cardinals) Terrance Taylor (was w/ Colts, now a FA) Morgan Trent (Bengals) Leon Hall (Bengals) Jamar Adams (Seahawks) Brandon Graham (Eagles) was a frosh who saw some action and Ryan Mundy (Steelers) was also on this team before he transferred to WV
Burgess hit at the end is probably one of the hardest, least recognized hits in football. I love the quote though. That really just the kind of day it was. Notre Dame getting smacked every time they tried to get something going.
Was anyone else at this game? I loved it when the Michigan section started chanting "WHY SO QUIET???" and then chanting for Rudy as ND started their final drive. Great game! GO BLUE!
The D' was poppin' folks in this game like the did in the Penn St game! We lost some good foks on the defensive side soit'll be intresting to see how we do! Man I love college football!
Hey that game was not Brady Quinns fault, the rest of the team just did not want to play. The same thing went on during the USC game. He is a great quarterback and should have a very good career in the pros with the Browns. And this was said by a michigan fan
Yes, he is a very good QB, Michigan would have been lucky to have him (I love Chad Henne too though). Still, Brady Quinn was as ineffective as they come in this game. His Heisman hopes were on life support after this one.
Michigan was simply too fast for Notre Dame, and Notre Dame gets mauled when they play against good athletes (USC, LSU, Michigan). Has any coach ever gotten by on one close loss (USC 34, ND 31) than Charlie Weis? Sure, ND has won some games but they haven't beaten a really good team in Weis' time there.
Notre Dame has beaten a couple of teams with winning records under Charlie Weis, but they haven't beaten anybody that was a really good. There best victory under Weis was probably the 17-10 win over Michigan at the Big House in 2005. The Wolverines were ranked N0.3 at the time, and that loss to ND started Michigans downward fall that season.
Yeah, it was painful alright. Henne threw that game away what with his fumble at the one yard line and his interception in the redzone in the 3rd quarter. Michigan-and especially Henne-handed that game to ND on a silver platter.
Oh well. Lukcily for us, that 2005 game will be the last time we lose to the Fightless irish for awhile. We're going to crush them yet again next season, and I really don't think they'll even make it a game with us until Charlie Weis gets out of town
Wow, i was at this game and it was painful for me as an Irish fan, but we still did good and were one of the few teams to go to back to back BCS bowl games
2 things...one Notre Dame, sorry but I think between last years bowl game and this years Michigan game it has been proven that you need more speed on defense (corners)the other is michigans defense just showed the nation how overrated quinn was by hitting, sacking, and pressuring brady into throwing interceptions...GO BLUE!
Its great to see a big ten team pound on ND (even if it was the state up north). I was literally laughing my ass off when brady quinn lost his grip of the ball, one of the funniest moments in college football this year. what more could possibly go wrong for ND haha. Then at the end that one player just gets the shit knocked out of him for a loss of yardage at the end of this video, damn that was too funny
Y'know, now that I'm listening to it on headphones, I may have been a little hard on Pat. You could conceivably tease 'Woodley' out of what he said on the fumble return replays...
Shawn Crable absolutely BLASTED Quinn on one play. Leon Hall is one heluvan athlete! ND TE John Carlson tipped a pass for INT, got blasted by David Harris, & couldn't take woodley out of bounds on the last TD... This was an all-around amazing defensive effort against probably one of the best ND offenses of this decade. Oh and you had special teams plays on there~ doesn't necessarily fit the category of the topic... ;) GO BLUE!!!
lol that very last hit by Burgess is still awesome haha

Brady didnt do that bad. It was his receivers that sucked. Anyone remember the 2nd play? Not Bradys fault
weeezerguy812 4 years ago
no ur right brady didnt do that bad he only threw 3 picks and got pulled from the game after leading his team to all of 21 points
ajaku3714 4 years ago
3 picks that were all caused by the recievers and offensive line

ND is lucky they aren't in the B10. Between getting destroyed by tOSU, MSU and UM, ND would end up 6-5 or 7-4 every year in the Big Ten.
But...but...but...RETURN TO GLORY!!!! lol.
