... first appearance on NATIONAL TV. Dolly was discovered by grocer Cas Walker who hosted a local show in Knoxville, Tennessee, just a stone's throw from her hometown of Sevierville.
"Blondes buy more peroxide!" Dolly's always had that wicked self-deprecating sense of humor. It's one of the particularly endearing aspects of her persona.
SHE SING THIS SONG LIKE SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE TALKING ABOUT. I HAVE LEARNED, ALSO "THRU THE HARD KNOCKS OF LIFE"{ LIKE A LOT OF WOMAN I KNOW WOULD LEARN} NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU LOVED ONE PERSON, GAVE IT TIME, AND YOU WILL SEE THERE IS ANOTHER WAITING AROUND THE CORNER...BEING MUCH BETTER...
I'm 11 and I LOVE Dolly Parton! My dad was 6 years old in the year this was filmed...and now he's 49! Dolly will be a forever legend all the way until the world ends! LONG LIVE DOLLY PARTON!
I had Dolly at a party once in 1976. Yep....they are real. Dolly likes to giggle alot during which didn't bother me much cause as you might imagine.....it didn't last long....

That song needs some work. The lyrics are not good. The melody is alright I guess but the lyrics seem to be an attempt at being clever but it didn't come out that way.
1967 huh? So she's 21 here. Wow, she looks just as gorgeous then as she does now. I hope I look just as good as I was at 21 when I'm 63. Go Dolly, I love this song.
Every time I feel a little low I watch this video. Just watching Dolly sing this lifts me up and makes me smile. Her career proves she isn't a Dumb Blonde.
Great song! Written by a male songwriter named Curley Putnam. I love the outfits and hair they had back then. I wish country music television would have more performers that dress in those old crazy cowboy outfits. Dolly's wearin' a "B-52!" hairdo. Dolly added the "blonds buy more peroxide" line. Hehehe...
This is a piece of history, and a fabulous one at that. Dolly's first TV appearance, and who knew she would become a national treasure? And how much do we love that bionic behive? Long live queen Dolly!!!
Dolly Parton once said shes not a dumb blonde because shes not really a blonde lol love that dolly parton

Dolly was born in 1946 which means she was 21 in this performance and I agree, naturally beautiful. Thanks for sharing :)

Yikes this was filmed 2 years before "The Brady Bunch" started! I think Dolly was only in her early 30's here in 1967.

She also wrote "I Will Always Love You" sung by Whitney Houston.

has dolly got a biography?
gelpenlova 3 years ago
She wrote her Autobiography in the early 90s, it's called "My Life, And Other Un-Finished Business"
It's really interesting, especially some of her funny stories from her childhood
