  • @334batista i'm running 3.1.2 (7d11) 05.11.07 , should i be happy 2 because with installious i always get invalid ipa , and i tried everything :(

  • IF U UPGRADE TO 4.2 CAN IT BE JAILBROKEN UNTETHERD AND UNLOCKED VIA ULTRASN0W?? MAIL ME PLEASE

  • is this phone any fatter HAHAHAHAHA

  • Do not pay a dime and get your own iPhone 5 at: goo.gl\GAFGE

  • URGENT QUESTION! With an iPhone 3G, I'm on 3.1.3. I want to try 4.2.1. Do I need anything special (SHSH blobs) in case I want to downgrade later back to iOS 3.1.3? Note that my iPhone is a 3G, and I think the downgrading process is different.

  • yes my phone is fatter

  • Just some advice people.. 3.1.3 is OUT-DATED. Nearly half of the applications are now requiring 4.0 or higher to run. I'd imagine once iOS 5 launches in the fall 95% of all applications will require at least iOS 4.2 or higher. Apple did things right by fixing iOS 4.X for the iPhone 3G and rightfully so left it at the last version that would of been use-able. So either upgrade to 4.2.1, or get the latest hardware.

  • Mine was also fast at first. Try using it for a week or two, it will crawl Typing becomes almost impossible..., disabled spotlight completely, notifications.. still slow as snail... downgraded it to 3.1.3, what a relief!

  • My 3g has iOS 4.2 but its no faster because it had been slightly water damaged

  • Ok how do I get a background on the main pg of my ios device? I want A FREEAKING background :'(

    Please help.

  • @Adronomics dont you know about jailbreaking? you can only set background once jailbroken (iphone 3g)

  • @mimRNS Well I know about it but I don't rly wanna do it. But seems like that's what is coming down too.

  • hi are you running on a 8gb 3G?

  • Kinda motivational video ;) (for those thinking of upgrading to 4.2.1)

  • @mauridaherg does not upgrade! it is so slow! 4.2.1 i need 6 seconds to open messages. on 3.1.3 i need just 3 seconds!

  • @theiphoneblog How come your iPhone 3G is running so smooth? Is it because it was just restored? Does not-jailbreaking have anything to do with speed? I wonder if mine will be as fast as this one if I upgrade.

  • is this phone any fatter? LOL

  • GET:.,YOUR`:'FREE;':IPOD;.,TOUCH':;

  • 4.2.1 was for me a great upgrade from 3.1.3 on iPhone 3G 8GB. The iPhone was never very reliable but I got used to it. iOS 4.0 was worse. 4.2.1 is working more reliably on my iPhone and faster. I had tried clean builds on 3.1.3 to resolve previous issues (slow to unlock, unable to answer calls, long map app open time). I never jailbroke. To migrate to 421 I unconfigured the phone and did the Reset All Settings and Data at the iPhone before upgrade. So far very happy with the change.

  • @tmacauley i'm currently using ios 4.2.1. Is it advisable for me to downgrade it to 3.1.3 coz my iphone is running slow. sometimes it takes more than 4 sec to open my sms inbox. p/s: i never jailbreak my device.

  • @mimRNS I never did jailbrakes on mine, either. I did 4.21. as install from a reset phone, not as an upgrade in iTunes or a restore in iTunes. I had a good experience with this. 4.2.1 was very good for me and better than 3.1.3. Test with fewer apps at first...

  • @mimRNS guess i'll never downgrade it. lets just stick to ios 4.2.1. thanks btw =)

  • does the iphone 3g have a camcorder???

  • @PAINTBALLERization no but a app on appstore name : icamrecorder

  • does the iphone 3g have a camcorder???

  • @PAINTBALLERization no but theres a app for it

  • so, may i know which ios is good? 4.1 or 4.2? suggestion please!!!

  • 4.2 sucks on the iphone 3g, 3.1.3 is still better. And 4.2 decreases your battery life so much. Make a ios4.2 vs 3.1.3 speed test, then you will see the difference in speed.

  • you didn't even check the multitasking.

everytime i use multitasking with my iphone 3G running 4.2.1 it crashes.

  • Do i lose all the apps and phone numbers if i install the 3G update? My friend lost everything on it :|

And my phone is running good now... advice??

  • @WorldsWorstChannel No not if you have everything backed up on itunes

  • @WorldsWorstChannel you mean running so well now.

  • Been there, done that, not going there again. I tried OS4.0 and went back to 3.1.3. I don't think any newer OS is going to run faster on outdated hardware. The 3G has 412 mhz / 128MB (processor / RAM), 3G-S (600 mhz / 256MB) and iphone4 (800 mhz to 1 ghz / 512 RAM). So you see, as the OS gets more powerful, you need the hardware to match. Otherwise, lagging is inevitable.

  • I have a iphone 3G with iOS4... this one seems to be faster :D .. I think I'm to going to try it

  • where on itune can I update my iPhone 3G? what do I do? Well thanks for your time.

    From Charles

  • i have 3.1.2 (7D11)... should i keep it?

  • @XenatR yes! My phone is on that; It is much faster :)

  • what happened to you @ 5:05 ??

  • is iOS 4.2 faster than iOS 3.1.3 on the 3G ????

  • @GLSTYLE61 nooo

  • @GLSTYLE61 no.

  • @GLSTYLE61 no, if ur on 3.1.3 u shld keep it, if u want speed. but apps are now cutting support for older OSes. so...ur choice: speed or compatibility?

  • @GLSTYLE61 bump!

  • Where do I go to add ios on my iPhone 3G?

  • @celtic5764 itunes

  • so whats better on iphone 3g? ios 4.1 or 4.2.1?

  • This kind of performance absolutely acceptable...

  • iOS needs a major makeover, after seeing windows phone 7's elegance look, I'm tired of the same old icons pages. Opening up email, music and social on windows phone 7 is so delightful! Does anyone know if apple will redesign the iOS?

  • @ZR1Terror windows 7 phone came bottom of the pile in most reviews

  • haha at the cough part. which phones was he talking about? lol

  • @stupidjunk878 Well that wasn't needed.

  • @Ondori412 Seriously though, it's outdated tech. Even at the time it was obsolete compared to the Android offerings, now it is woefully underpowered.

Apple never support old tech for long, you guys will get left behind in the next iOS update

  • @stupidjunk878 what if we dont want to suck up to apple and hand em' another £400

  • @jakedee010 Get a proper phone - like the Desire HD

  • Jailbreak now at unlockiphone4-now com

  • i just jailbreak to enable all of the disabled features...

  • go check out cnet's take on why android is better than iphone.

you can't make this stuff up...

  • Apple lost my confidence after i updated my iphone 3g to ios 4.0. It simply made my phone from a wonderful device to use, to a frustrating black piece of plastic. I still firmly believe apple knew what they were doing to iphone 3g owners, in order to force them and us into a (not necessary) purchase of an iphone 4.

  • The 4.2 is real lagy on the iphone 3g with the homescreen wallpaper. 3.1.3 is still better than 4.2 on the iphone 3g . I know some people has to have had lag on there iphone 3g. And if you plan on jailbreaking don't add multitasking its just horrible!

  • The golden 3.1.3 its still way better than the 4.x . The 4.x version is unusable ):

  • after 4.2 on Iphone 3gs, it feels like it uses the power much quicker. have to recharge it more often now.

  • @JoeLever78 Actually there is a big hardware problem with the 3G camera. It cant take real video. The apps that allow it to record "video" aren't really recording a video. They are simply taking pictures very fast. The videos from these apps are also very laggy. You need a real video camera to take real videos.

  • Oh, and I will only update my iPhone 3G if the update includes home screen wallpaper.

  • 5:05 = :D I love my iPhone 3G, too!

...But I'm still not upgrading it to the iOS 4.2 software.

  • Its only snappier coz of the black background, Hex edit a file which enables wallpeprs and it fucking lags like a bitch !

  • i like how excited he sounded at 5:05

  • please see my video for an untethered ios 4.2.1 jailbreak

  • my iphone 3g on version 4.1 looks great before i jailbreak it, but after i jailbreak it it is so lag!!!!! hate it

  • ipod touch is fuckin' beast'

  • iOS 4.2 makes my iPhone what it used to be on iPhone OS 3...

No lags on Home Screen, 5 second to open Settings app, no lags in Safari..

  • My 3G phone works great with the 4.2, but i wish I had the 3GS for the multitasking!

  • @joplinzoplin download Features on Cydia

  • @joplinzoplin you can run mutitasking on your iphone 3g u no

  • @joplinzoplin You can JailBreak it with redsnow and you can have themes from settings and photos too

  • iOS 4.1 runs great as well. I wont be swapping out my iPhone 3G for a long time.

  • @TheViciousViper The iOS 4.1 was the worst software update that I ever gave my iPhone 3G. I had dropped calls, a frozen screen, and it was awful. I'm never updating my phone again.

  • Terrible lag with emails & text messaging.

Interesting that this was conveniently skipped in the video

  • if u noticed.. this phone only got the basic applications.. thts one of the reasons for the fast performance !!!

  • Here's a tip for 3g users running 4x to speed your phone up. Do 2 hard resets to speed up your phone, especially if you start getting lag or that weird thing where you can hear you own voice. Just hold down the home button and the top power button until you see the apple logo appear on restart. Wait for it to start then do this again, it won't hurt you phone and it gives it basically an enema! Enjoy

  • can you make a video looking at the apps running in the background by double clicking on the home button? did you enable multitasking? how many programs can you run before it starts acting a bit slow? I remember using "backgrounder" from cydia on 3.1.2 and I could manage around 3 apps running at the same time -- but i don't know if this will still be in the case on the 4.2.1

  • Wondering how did you get that Voice Memo icon?

  • Alright cool. Thanks but when I do I'll let you know how it goes. Keep up the good work

  • Add Me On GameCenter : JohnnyDJunior

  • yes you should upgrade to 4.2 and then jailbreak it with the jailbreak found at

    w w w . pinkra1n.tk

(check my videos to see how easy it is) and yes its untethered :)

  • nice vid bruh. im on iphone 3g on 4.1, would you recommend me updating

  • @Tattedup3001 I Do, I Got 3G 8GB and Updated to 4.2 and it works amazing :) good luck Bro.

  • i have iphone 3G , i try it ... it is very fast ... OS 4.2.1 better

  • so is it good to update to 4.2 if you are 3.1.2?

  • Can I multitask and do folders?

  • @tomorocko multitask no folders yes

  • why doesnt apple make a quick reply or something for the iphone 3g, so we can text while in a app. it would stop alot of people from jailbreaking their phone.. well me at least

  • @iamPeligroso6

    Whats Jailbreaking? :)

  • @iamPeligroso6 I Love BiteSMS solely for this reason!

  • is there anything new that we can do with this softwaer, like multiflow or anything?

  • there isn't any video player in my iphone 3g,can anyone help me?

  • ppl .. do you think this iOS 4.2 is better that the best iOS 3.1.3?!!

I'm iPhone 3G owner and i'm afraid to upgrade from 3.1.3 to any newer iOS after wut happened twice with 4.0 and 4.1 and forced to downgrade my iPhone back t

  • @sherifzagreat u should get 4.2 im a 3g user and it works 90% like 3.1.3, so recommend u should

  • I'm downloading it as I watch the video and let me tell you that it was about time @#$%# apple did something about it... I was so tired of using this almost unusable piece of $%^$# software.. they should have warned us before upgrading to ios4 or at least allow us to downgrade back from 4.x.. I spent countless days on craigslist trying to buy a used iphone 4 or even 3gs just so that I would have a workable device but they were so expensive. Even though find my iphone is not free for 3gs it works

  • that smudge on your phone, is driving me, nuts..lol

  • i'm downloading it now for my iPhone 3G. looking at the video, that looks A LOT better than what i've been dealing with since the iPhone 4 came out... it has been very frustrating.

  • Running THE new iOS here on 3G, perfectly! Much better than iOS 4.1, i recommend upgrading if u are running 4.1

  • @bsuijker wat if u unlock it? would it still run good without lagging?

  • @futerflash2 i''m sorry, cant respond: what do you mean with unlocking? to unlock what?

  • @bsuijker by unlocking i mean to use it with T-mobile... like jailbreak it and use a program to unlock it... is it unlockable anyways?

  • @futerflash2 sorry, I dont have experience with such, my divice is not jailbreaked. if you mean unlocking simlock i''d advice you to contact your service provider. mostly its arangeble when your contract is older than one year.

  • @futerflash2 I don't think that somebody has a jailbreak tool for iOS 4.2 yet .. software unlocking might take more time till it's available .. be patient

  • @sherifzagreat Jailbreak´s available/ Unlock not yet

  • @futerflash2 If ur contract @ T-mobile is older than 2 years, they`ll unlock ur phone for free. BTW-Since iOS 4.1, there`s no unlock, because of the ne baseband.

  • @bsuijker wut if i'm 3.1.3 .. you think iOS 4.2 is faster and smoother than 3.1.3 ?!

I had to downgrade twice .. from 4.0 and 4.1 back to the golden iOS 3.1.3 .. lost alot of notes and texts with the downgrade and i don't wanna risk it again ..

  • @sherifzagreat sorry cant help you there. I do own the device just for one month and have been running 4.1 ever since. but 3.1.X will probably beat this iOS in speed, because it''s made for former divices like ours. thereby im not recommending you one or the other. it totally depends how much you like the new features of the new iOS. but anyhow, cant you fix your problem of the text messages with software like Apple MoblileMe?, you can use a 60 day trial for free. good luck pal;)

  • @bsuijker hmmm .. you should try to run your iPhone on 3.1.3 .. it runs like a charm .. the best iOS apple made for iPhone 3G .. you should give it a try .. i can give ya a link if you want

btw .. I did try MobileMe once before ... :))

    thnx anyway man ;))

  • Hey on iOS 4.2 The NEW 17 ringtones for SMS dont show up on my 3GS !! I called apple and they said its iPhone 4 only... is this true????

  • @I325brink yes is true

  • what you said at 5:05

couldn't have said it any better.

proud owners of iPhone 3g :)

  • @wassimshomali hehehehee .. that's true .. iPhone 3G still doing great in compare with many others .. that's why i love apple :))

  • @wassimshomali very right and corect well said man

  • @wassimshomali at least when the android OS is updated our phone is better not worse. Like the iphone 3g on 4.x. Yes I am a Samsung Captivate owner whom recently switched from the iphone 3g. Oh and I am running android 2.2

  • @TheRedRooster13 That's very nice even though I don't see the relation between my comment and you reply. If you are telling me that you are happy with your device well thats wonderful news but unfortunately, i do not work for samsung neither android.

If we are both happy with our goods then why must there be a problem?

I love all technology, and I appreciate all the makes not just apple lets not start a world war 3 ;)

  • @wassimshomali thats right i fell proud noww

  • thats sound ok, but how does it compare to the lovely 3.1.3? :P

  • This phone is much fatter than iOS 4.

  • anybody tried it yet?

  • ITS FInALLY OUT

  • How about 4.2 on iphone 3gs? My 3gs is also lagging like ****

  • im so updating, but there wont be a jailbreak probably untill 20th of december :(

  • I don't trust this, after the 4.0 mess I'd rather stay downgraded and JB on a 3.1.3, this still looks slower than 3.1.3

  • @MrFooknuts WIth any old system, Computer or phone, there's going to be lag. But trust me, there is A LOT less lag with 4.2. Barely noticeable.

  • @MrFooknuts i almost resorted to this but i like the grouping/coupling feature of the apps. i went from 3 or 4 pages of apps to 1. hopefully 4.2 works okay though... i can't afford the $600 fee to upgrade to the iPhone 4 - eff that.

  • @LikeLionsinsand Yeah, 4.1 and 4.0 was unusable for me, I almost gave my phone away and wasted my money on the iphone 4, but I use it for gaming mostly and my brother asked me what games I want that I can't play on an Iphone 3g with 3.1.3, and I couldn't think of any lol.

  • @MrFooknuts Yes just stay on 3.1.3 . 4.2 is so lagy if you have a iphone 3g it makes it more slower than 3.1.3 only thing apple improved was to make the music player open faster .

  • if this doesnt work try pinkra1n (video in my profile)

  • is IOS 4.2 already released ? i just buyed a ipod touch 4g 32 GB and it says 4.1

  • @Exst3rC 24th of november

  • @vtwinbreed ty and what does it do ?

  • @Exst3rC No freakin clue.. My speaker broke 1 month after warranty on my 3G, and been having to restore it 3 times a week to keep it running the way it should, I finally got fed up after the speaker broke thursday, that and having rice kernal shells fall out of the bottom of my phone (and I don't live near rice period), so I went out and bought a Samsung Captivate. The iPhone is a good mp3 player, but as a phone, it sucks.. "It just works", is a blatant lie.

  • @vtwinbreed wow that's not cool dude

  • Does this update improve battery life on the iphone????

  • do you know when the unlocking the iphone 3gs on the 05.14.02 let me know please!!!

  • @MRHUERO1NONLY

    2 days after 4.2 release.

  • thank god you posted this video, i was seriously thinking about selling my 3g soon because my turtle runs faster on 4.0 ..

  • is the final 4.2 out yet

  • @vince0123 it is only released to developers no to us yet but hopefully will be soon.

  • i think il just get an ipod touch4G and an cheap android phone...

  • with what you pay for an iphone, it FUCKING should be able to use the latest firmware 2 years later.

when you pay 1/3 the price, who gives a fuck if you buy a new one every year.

    gtfo.

I have an iPhone 3gs and a nokia n900, they're both good but iPhone 3gs is my data sim because it's a good ipod and /doesn't/ have a keypad.. I'm biased because I don't like 100% touch devices as phones/writing devices.

    that's all

  • still wating for the update?

    when is the relaese?

  • @RemiQ4 24/11/2010

  • That's the real question we all want to know. Is the phone any fatter?

  • fuck that shit....just jailbreak it already -.-

  • He shouted at me towards the end.. :'(

  • lol @ "Is this phone any fatter"

  • LMAO You are sooo g*y android is the best. Apple's iOS sucks balls all the way.

  • @EDvids113 yea, its so gay that android copied everything about it.....so gay though

  • go to settings and show us the iOS version !
