I like the "E True Hollywood Story" Better. It talks more about her Suscess and how she got into Drugs first. This one just talks about how big of a Junkie she was. -_-
in 76 there was a group or groups of teens that where rerally into heroin and bowie was always there, that sound really fit the age, in germany uk and usa specially
its very obvious that everyone has their own opinion I did not write my comment to change nobody's view I am just stating a fact that people tend to blame others for their misfortune blame the parent blame the drugs blame the world and its not that those dont contribute to ones degradation its that in the end all that matters is oneself in the end her choices led her to tragedy
@ceradoru88 Yes, but you said she created drama for herself. She was in a huge city in the 80's and thrust into a scene she probably couldn't mentally handle and definitely couldn't handle at her age. Why imply that she WANTED to destroy her life. She simply wasn't happy and probably didn't know how to be. Many children who are abused and given too much freedom tend to self destruct. I think that's what happened. I think that, I'm not implying anything.
Gia came at the top very fast and unfortunately she made the deadly choice of drugs. Gia is a legend and she's even more famous now after her tragic death. Heroin was her biggest downfall my American friend Laura said. Gia has a lot of fans and they are growing each day. No-one can be compared with this great woman, RIP GIA we love you girl!
@giaisbomb If she had never tried heroin, the cocaine and pills would have eventually gotten to her. It was the 80's and she was in New York, she really didn't stand a chance. She was vulnerable and needy for affection and acceptance, not unlike lots of great people today. Drugs just weren't the answer for her, nor are they for anyone else. It truly is a great tragedy. May the story of her life live on and may her memory never die.
@fan80sgirl That's how Cindy Crawford started HER career...as a 'replacement' for the unreliable Gia!!She was billed as 'the new Gia'...while Gia was still ALIVE too!!
@TheMrMarilyn "The new Gia" or was she known as "Baby Gia"? That's what I always heard. I see a slight resemblance but Cindy is nowhere as amazing as Gia was.
@giaisbomb So are you, the American Bombness. I´ve never loved somebody so much as you mein Liebchen , please never leave me.. Our beautiful Gia forever, never to be forgotten, if Gia never existed we never had met, how strange..!
@fan80sgirl Sorry about your uncle. Drugs ARE bad. People don't want to make a big deal out of them, but like your uncle said, you can get hooked first time you try it. After seeing my mom try to quit CIGARETTES time and time again, I stayed away from them and other drugs. I hardly ever even drink! What would Gia have been like if she were still alive?
I think the reason Gia's story still resanates to this is because her story has it all rags to riches, and sex drugs and rock and roll, but it also shows you what happened to her can happen to any one you go work in any in enviroment doctor, lawyer , model , singer, you rise to the top but then something can push u and cause u to stumbel and fall
@Pinkranger87 I think it's becasue she died. We tend to this with anyone who is even moderately famous and dies young. Had she lived, you'd be seeing her on TMZ or as the "aging model" on some reality series. Sounds shallow, but I think that's the truth about stories like these. We like the morbidity of it and the tragic and macabe endings
@Pinkranger87 Thass right...and not ONE of those damn people that 'loved' you and revelled in your 'fame' and fortune is anywhere to be found, the second you 'need' any of them...and are the FIRST out of the woodwork after you've gone, suddenly 'available' to appear in documentaries or magazine articles, babbling on about how much they loved you and just how 'close' they were to you!!Bunch of phoney two faced muthafukkahz...'faa-shaawn'...bunch of bullshit...same as acting/music biz world too!!
@TheMrMarilyn Oh that is sooo true. When you are on top and making money for everyone, it's all good. They minute you can make a bad impression to someone, you are black balled. But if there is a spark of interest on the outside, suddenly, everyone loved you and where did you go? Same old story.
It was such a hideous, shallow world she inhabited, nothing cool about it whatsoever. It's a shame that she didn't pursue her interests as a photographer instead.
@sleepypoodle Ohhhh....could you imagine the pictures that Gia could have taken? I'm thinking she really could have brought out her subjects well...I'll never forget that comment she made about seeing an old couple in the street holding hands...she said she could use that in a movie. I see stuff and think that way too.
@nightowlinky I'm gonna load it up with another account or else I'm gonna kicked off with this one. I'll let you know when it's on again, probably within a few weeks.
night life is a part of this story. You must be responsible and aware of that. But if she was depressed because all of that feelings in her... this was a deadly combination for her. And she was so lost... so lost...
I am so sorry for her, i can clearly see that she was a very emotional person, good hearted, want to be loved. But she was just in the wrong time at the wrong place.. - this job extremely wasn't good for her because of her personality and her past! Because it's hard work and you have a feeling that you only work work work and that you are a barbie girl, that people just like you because you are beautiful and nothing else. yeah i've seen in other documentaries and read on other articles that this rochelle girl really had a bad influence on her. was/is she pretty? i badly want to read that book by fried, ive searched every results on google so that i can have it for free :)) then gave up. but i read in the comments that the book was really good!
I recommend you to read the book, it is the closest to the life of Gia. There you can also read about Rochelle (her real name was Elyssa Golden). The book isn't expensive, I've got it at home and I'm glad I bought it on the internet last year.
Thanks for posting this! I read the book when a few years back. The book mentions how she had family that lived at the Jersey shore. Well, I know Gia's nieces, both of them. And both of them are just as beautiful as she was. One of them is actually on my myspace page. If you've ever searched for pics of Gia on the net, you may come across some candids of her with a little girl. That is one of them. I don't think they like the attention though....
All of you tnx very much for watching so Gia will never be forgotten. Could you tell me where I can find the pics of her nieces and the my space page? You are lucky that you know them cause they are family from Gia. Tnx and kisses.
It is about the life of Gia from the beginning when she was born in 1960 until her death in 1986. You can read about her family, her modellng-career, love-life, drug-abuse and Aids. It is better than the film because the film is losely based on her story. In the book you can read about people who knew her.
thanks for your time,if you dont mind me asking that in the book was gia mentioned as a good person or somebody who was didnt care much about the world and people around her
She was a good person although she also did some bad things like stealing because of the drugs. But she was a person with a good heart, she loved children.
I agree, the movie is different from the story of Gia. I also did not read that Gia ever had a boyfriend, she liked girls. I like the movie but Angelina isn't that beautiful that Gia was.
I also have the movie and i'ts a good movie. But the movie isn't quit the same with the real story from Gia. If you want to know her real story it is best to read the book Thing of Beauty by Stephen Fried.
