Surely it is not rock. This is Euro-Disco. 80's Pop was great. Artists like PET SHOP BOYS, SWING OUT SISTER, SADE, THOMAS DOLBY, TEARS FOR FEARS, PREFAB SPROUT, etc... had an astonishing knowledge of harmony, speacially compared to the laughable pop, rock, r&b of the 90's and 00's.
