Deer Creek dances Froggy "Ducklington" style; as such it's often referred to as "Froggy Goes Quack." It has become a popular mass dance in California in recent years. Tip o' the bowler to Thames Valley!
Actually, this dance was created by Dr. Paul Handford, co-founder of Thames Valley International In the Thames Fieldtown style.... Froggy's First Leap....
DCMM Lead muso, Dave Fouquet, comments that Deer Creek got the dance from a Thames Valley workshop, circa 1990, and was adapted from its "Fieldtown" origins into the "Ducklington" version by Bruce Hamilton and others on DCMM at the time. It's been in our rep ever since.
The tune was written by Dave Whetstone (formerly of Cock and Bull band).
